As of today we are 4-3 in the big 12 and 14-6 overall. If that pace keeps up Collier will not be fired - I don't think. However, does anyone know anything about the UNI coach, McDermott, I think? He's done very well at Wayne State and then UNI and I think he would be a great candidate in the future at Nebraska when or if Collier is gone.

IMO, sounds like he's blaming the players again. Or he is stating the obvious. You go out with your team every week and try to win games. That's all there is to it. Yea, people like you will "read between the lines" because it fits your ideology. Nothing new here. I kind of wish Calahan wouldn't have said that also but probably what he meant was that he just doesn't have the right TYPE of players for the WCO. It's pretty obvious this is true. What do you want him to do, run the option? They have to be totally committed to learning the WCO even if it's with recievers recruited to be blockers (for example). He's running his offense with the TYPE of players he has.

Yeah, it's amazing we have a shot at going 8-4. You would never no it by some of the posts lately. I think we beat KSU, lose to CU and who knows about the bowl game - the important thing is just becoming bowl eligible at this point. Even going 7-5 or 6-6 is going to be an improvement over last year as far as W/L. Wait a few years when we have 4 star guys on the field instead of 2 star guys and we'll see bigger improvements.

Callahan is not going anywhere. It will take a few YEARS for some of our younger talent to show anything, especially on the offensive line. Callahan is still moslty using players he didn't recruit. This shows, on offence in particular.
