BTW:  What year is Dylan's brother (what recruiting class will he be in) and is he or should he be a recruiting target?  I know he is a Husker fan, but does he have the talent potential to be a replacement of either Dylan or DK (assuming DK replaces Dylan) after a few years?

I believe he'll be a Soph this coming year? Could be totally wrong, going off of memory.

When is this and do we have any chance of winning it?

It would really help me out with an Iowa fan friend.

Dual is next Friday 1/12 at 630p.

Assuming Nebraska doesn't have any injuries, they have a very real chance at beating Iowa for the first time in a while.

Is this the first time in a NC where both teams are not regularly in the top 10 in recruiting?

In the CFP era? Most definitely. In the CFP/BCS era? Maybe? In looking at the games, and the only game I could see where both teams might not be in the top 10 recruiting rankings-wise is Oregon and Auburn. Oregon for sure wouldn't have been in the top 10 because they were just getting cranked up under Chip Kelly. Auburn *might have* with Cam Newton and Michael Dyer who were both 5 stars IIRC plus they had some other talented kids coming in that year.

Why? Because all the Huskies had to do was take a knee on third down, the RB would not had gotten hurt, and there would had only been 13 seconds on the clock when Washington punted. Texas likely wouldn’t had that opportunity to win the game. Washington dodged a bullet.

I didn't have much of a problem there as that play is so fluky (and honestly a dumb rule--injuring your opponents should not afford you the ability to stop the clock). I had a way bigger problem with the previous drive when UW could've milked more time off the clock, both in running the play clock down to 1 before snapping and the 3rd down pass call that allowed Texas to save a TO.

  5. I'm assuming we all listen to the same Husker related ones.

Think he had mid 600 ish yards last year. About the same before. 6’4”.

    Yep, spot on,

2022: 42/636/9--Had Sam Hartman at QB who is a darn good college QB

2023: 59/653/4--WF had a big step back with Griffis at QB, probably the reason Banks is in the portal.

Banks would be an awesome pickup for NU, he's that big body 50/50 ball winner with good speed to boot WR that Nebraska has lacked for a while. Basically, Banks is what we all hoped Omar Manning would be.

Yeah, I wasn't happy about Allred moving up. Hopefully Hutmacher can help us at 285. We really don't have anyone in that spot that gives us a chance to win.

I don't know what to think on Allred moving up. I'm not sure it was really a duck because Sloan has beaten him a few times. Sloan is just a terrible matchup for him. Also, the dual was already in hand so it wasn't a move up to secure the win thing. Your guess is as good as mine!

He wasn't wrong, they did have a very legitimate shot to win the west at that point in the season.  We were arguably equals to every team left on the schedule and we were tied for first place.  Without silly turnovers, we win 2, 3, or maybe even 4 of those games and win the west.  Our team floundered but that isn't on some talking head in the media who was just reporting the facts at that time.

Yep, you are correct there. It's just annoying to me that the media is always onto the next thing when the football team has consistently proven that it's largely incapable of success. It's definitely a 'me' problem for sure.

Holy Eggs Benedict Batman. Man, Shatel just can't help himself can he? I've found myself more and more annoyed by him over the years and can't stand him on the OWH podcast. When Nebraska was 5-3 the talk was, "Hey this team has a shot to win the West" versus the appropriate talk which would've been, hey let's see them get bowl eligible and then we're playing with house money. I blame the local media quite a bit when it comes to this stuff even though I understand they need to sell the hype to generate clicks and subscriptions.

Yeah I've been wondering the same thing if Nebraska still wants to bring in another transfer qb or is ok with the qb room.  I wished Nebraska would have went after DeQuan Finn bc he truly is a dual threat qb.  He completed 63% of his passes for over 2600 yards with 22 td passes and 9 interceptions and he carried the ball 123 times for over 500 yards and 7 rushing td's. He's dangerous in the RPO system bc of his quickness.  Unfortunately Baylor, and USC are after him along with Michigan.

Would love DeQuan Finn as a bridge QB. He did a great job at Toledo. I, too, was hoping Nebraska might get some run with him.

OK, I can understand getting one of these guys. If they pony up the cash, OK, both. We know the boosters behind this program have deep pockets.

But this:  Nebraska will be preseason Top 10.

Let's slow our roll here. Only one of these guys can see the field at a time. One QB, no matter how good, isn't going to make us a top ten team overnight.

Didn't want to come to NU unless he was "promised" the starting job, but willing to go to ASU where a TFr started half their games before being hurt.

I'm assuming during his walk around campus he saw what every red blooded male also sees when you go to ASU and thought, "You know what coach, I'm here to compete."
