Carriker needs to get inline behind Jason Peters and Grant Winstrom for the DL job.

We need to figure out some way that fans can butcher Carriker's name.

    Corriker? Carrikter? Carrikers?

Seems to be a requirement for the second some of the fan base turns on them nowadays, eh?

In relation to the OP, Carriker has almost no qualifications to coach outside of being a former player. I'd like to see him go somewhere as an assistant (either high school or low-level college ranks) and see what he can do there if coaching is in his future.

Being a former player gives you a no guarantee of being a good coach, just as not having played doesn't mean you'll be a bad coach.

why not try him as a grad assistant?

I'm sure there's room on Frost's staff as either a GA or a DLine coach. That would be a great starting spot for him to get his coaching feet wet. Recruiting hot bed, NFL resume, great knowledge base. If he truly wants to coach, that could be a great fit for him.

    J rose

Yeah, Jonathan Rose. He had some problems this year. On and off the field.

Too bad about this. CB is a position where we can't afford to lose guys.

He's a senior, he's missing the bowl game, not a big loss at all. Gives the young guys more reps that he would have had. Hope he's earned his degree and I thank him for his effort he gave the university. Good luck to him in the future.

  3. I hope this kid is the real deal. I mean, he killed is senior year and his only in state offer was Sacramento St? Something isn't adding up here.

We only know about offers because the kid says who offered, a school can't say who they are offering. Maybe he's been offered by a plethora of schools, but he's rock solid and isn't even talking about his other offers. Same goes for the likes of POB and his "lack" of offers. In fact, I've read that POB has received A LOT of offers during his senior season, he just isn't telling the recruiting services because he doesn't care as he is rock solid to Nebraska, same could be said for Grim.

  4. The "Silent Commit" was Tre Bryant......it's just not silent anymore. He committed before his visit. Announced it publicly after. Not sure why people keep trying to figure out who it is.

He told reporters he committed on Thursday before his visit. The 'silent commit' was announced the Monday before his visit, meaning it isn't Tre

At best I think HP resigns before June. Then a new Chancellor will come in and evaluate the situation. IMO, at least a year for the new Chancellor to review, evaluate and offer any suggestions for improvement before any changes are made. I'm not even sure the timetable on replacing HP. Even if he steps down earlier than anticipated, I don't foresee his replacement coming in until the summer. Then an earnest evaluation of all the Chancellor's departments will be reviewed. And I'm not sure that HP will resign early. Maybe get a slap on the wrist for a bad PR move on trying to extend SE on his way out the door.

For those thinking having HP leave early will be a bad sign for SE, and then trickle down as a bad sign for Riley, I think are jumping the gun. Both SE and Riley will be around for at least the 2016 football season before anything happens to either of them. Personally, as of right now, I'm hoping that both stay through at least the 2017 season as well. I may change my tune depending on how the 2016 season goes, but right now, I want Riley to have 3 full seasons to really get the Pelini stink out of the program before we truly evaluate him.

It would be weird if the University has known since last April that Perlman would be gone in June 2016 and still hadn't lined up his successor in November 2015. They aren't going to wait until June 2016 to start looking for Perlman's successor.

I wasn't very clear on that. I agree, if he isn't "forced" out early, they will most likely have his replacement ready July 1st. I was implying that if he's forced out, I don't know what timeline they would have to replace him before July.

That said, the company I work for, the CFO announced he was retiring at the end of our last quarter. He gave a three month notice, we are about to close the next quarter and his position still hasn't been filled. The university may not have a replacement ready, but I would think they should.

The 91 yard drive through about 5 minutes of post game celebration. Still doesn't give what it felt like to be at the stadium.

    *note, not my video

Holy sh#t. That video was awesome. You can almost feel the healing in the post game celebration.
jeez. I thought the same thing.

We could be overreacting to one game. And we wont know how significant it is, or isnt, for a while. But it feels really special. Tear in my eyes special.

This is the second time I've been in memorial stadium where I've seen grown men cry and hugging. First after the Jack TD run at the spring game, and last night. It was palpable. The relief, the joy, the untethered happiness. The video gives a glimpse, you aren't over reacting. For those that were in that stadium it was real and you could feel it as all the emotion and energy, the good and the bad released in a 15 minute jubilant celebration. The happiest I've ever been leaving a game. Colorardo 92, Colorado where Henery and Suh sealed the deal, Ohio State comeback, Wicsy, Oklahoma 09. This one, this celebration, this happiness, so much different and better.

    I'm thinking it's Anchrum.

Ooh. Good call. Sam McKewon agrees in his latest article.

The RB who just removed his KSU commitment and is visiting this weekend would've been the logical choice for me. Can't wait to find out.

One media guy doesn't think it's either of those two but is a "big" commit, FWIW. He doesn't know who but doesn't think it's either of those two.

    Farniok?

Nope. He's not deciding until January.

Just playing devil's advocate, he's not ANNOUNCING until January. Presumably he will have his choice made and have notified coaches well in advance of his announcement ceremony.

  9. Question on the extension HP is giving him. Does anyone know where SE is on his contract? I can't remember what his original contract length was. Wondering if this is maybe around the time is contract should be extended anyway, and it just looks bad because HP is retiring soon. But if his contract is at the renew stage, what else should HP do, I want him still working and doing what he's supposed to be doing until his replacement can come in and start the transition. As for now, I'm OK with Eichorst getting the extension, I'm still supporting him and I think we are now seeing just how deep the poisonous well went within the football program. Replacing him (and Riley) now would be a crippling blow to an already very unstable program. What we need more than anything is consistency and positive energy to rebuild. SE and Riley are the two guys that are synonymous, IMO, to consistency and positivity. Right now, we need both to stay until we get to smooth waters.

  10. I've been liking this show. It's a slow burn. It's been fascinating watching how the virus starts spreading and how they react to it. I'm hoping that as the season unfolds, we can have an iconic scene where LA is taken over by the walkers and the family is on the run trying to find safety and real people. After last nights episode where she breached the compound, I'm hoping that leads to an infestation and chaos in the community.
