I'm wondering how much I should work on triceps and which exercises if the only thing I care about is increasing the big three (so bench press) and working up to a pullup.

Right now I do the following:

    Tricep extensions

    Skullcrushers

    Dips

    Close grip press

    Other stuff for pullup:

    Assisted pull up

    Lat pulldowns

and I'm going to start doing reverse pullups or whatever it's called when you jump up to get your chin above the bar and fall as slowly as you can.

What is your height weight age and numbers on the "big 3" right now?
    Also ASL
    :D

    not answering first 3.

    this week:

    bench: 3x8 65lbs

    deadlift: 3x6 165lbs

    squat: 3x5 60lbs

    *flexes rippling muscles*

I will assume your body weight is 140-160 and that you have just started lifting. You stated your goal is increasing the big three. I wouldnt even worry about accessory work for some time.

    MWF

    Warmup

    Squats

    Bench

    Deadlift

    3 work sets x 5 repetitions.

I would google madcows 5x5 and read into anything and everything you can find if you want to go the free route . oh and do some research on eating like a beast. After you have exhausted linear progression I would suggest the Texas Method or 5/3/1. Read up on tnation.com. Stumpys favorite site.

I basically workout the muscle groups that girls like the most.

That is why I workout my love-muscle so much...alone...in the dark.

    So your nickname is Popeye?

    I was leaning towards "Spanky"

  4. The zoo in Omaha would be the thing to see outside of Lincoln. It's one of the better ones in the country.

We have foreign worker rxvhsnge program and I actually said the same thing. They quickly corrected me and said, "It is one of the best world wide.". They had been to Londons zoo and said Omaha dwarfed it.

  5. I'm not passing info along it was in the ljs.http://m.journalstar.com/sports/huskers/football/huskers-like-early-results-under-new-strength-coach-philipp/article_c85a8647-1460-5953-8a8e-275ed936e144.html?mobile_touch=true

I will not even lower myself to the level of talking about injuries and saying Dobson wasn't hands on. Prove it or just don't talk about it imo. As far ad the article he says more mobility work and less power emphasis which translates to.me more cross fit bullsh#t less results from proven power lifting techniques . just my opinion. I would like them to say " wow my squat had went up 30 lbs" not "we ran more" imo

  6. A player mentioned Dobson was more powerlifting and strength while Philip is more high rep cardio bs. Which if true IMO IMO would be the worst case scenario decision. Running the guys this hard I see no value in it especially this early. IMO they need to be eating like hogs and lifting as heavy as possible. Squats bench cleans and presses. Conditioning can come closer to fall.

  7. I personally use the rogue do-wins 1/2 inch heel but I've heard good things of the addidas adi powers. I would def get the 1/2 though and only wear them to squat. Dead lifts should be done in the socks or if the gym eobtnlrt you get some dead lift slippers Google will yield good results, if they won't let you use slippers get a new gym

  8. Its cheaper to go in with someone due to material waste making only one. I bet you can keep it under 400 per unit doing it yourself. Also you can do everything with a power rack flat bench and barbell. I guess I never saw a use for the bells

  9. buy a box of dry milk. Mix half a packet in a blender with whole milk, add a half or full container of blueberry yogurt, plus some sherbet or ice cream, and you’ll have 40 to 50 grams of affortable protein. Well known fact you can only assimilate 42g max per every 2-3 hours

  10. Take these plans to a local fab shop or do it yourself. Then go to http://www.rogue fitness.com and purchase the bandr bar. A flat bench. And of course a nice set of bumper plates. Crawl craigslist every chance you get to suck up plates for cheap and obviously compare their asking price per pound vs what v eltftns and rogue. It will save you thousands. And if you're wise like myself you know the crossfit bubble will break soon so the pickings will be very good. Build a platform from plywood. 3/4 inch 8x4 x 6 sheets stack and screw to create a indestructible 8x8 platform. Go to tractor supply and buy some horse stall mats 3/4 inch by 8x6 or 8x4 if available at your location. Top the platform off with them they will save the life of your bumpers. Then you'll need some storage I have Creighton university's old weight trees I paid 20 a tree they would sell 140 new off rogue. Don't waste money or space on bells just barbell power lift and do pull ups of your new rack and I'd invest in some chalk and a belt and a great powerlifting book or coach to perfect your form. Have a good day inbox me with any questions as I will not reread the topic

    lol you guys are maniacs.

An apt description of most of HuskerBoard.

    Quit being so dramatic.

Ron Brown has been a coach here since the 1980s, and he's been one of the best and most-beloved coaches through that time. A thread with >30 posts saying that people are going to miss him isn't anyone being "dramatic." It's a pretty natural, and pretty understated, response.Take a knee, son.

Scroll a little slower through it, HOSS. Its quickly turning into a " if he likes Bo he's gotta go" thread. Also, Solich gave well over 30 years of his life to then program. I have a great lesson for you we can Learn from HCMR - Take care of people who put in the time.

  12. lol you guys are maniacs. It has nothing to do with Browns loyalties to Bo or HCJC. Riley is loyal to guys that were willing to put in time with him at OSU. When one becomes a made man it is proper by the made man to bring those from the street with him to the top. That simple. Quit being so dramatic.

  13. I graduated within the last 7 years. My coach yelled at all of us, his assistants, and even the other teams head coach. My coach grabbed facemasks said things like 'I don't think you're big enough to start this game'. My coach used foul language. I would do anything for this man and I have no doubt anyone whos played worked for him would day the same thing. Oh and he wins more games than anyone else. I feel this no yelling thing is part of the everyone is special crowd. I don't support it and would love to see some research on the topic.

I understand what Bo is saying. The guy is so corporate. Not very sincere. Typical politically correct head figure. The age of guys like Bo is over. Its similar to the days of the cowboy coming to an end. Instead of real 'men' we have 'pussies' who lead their life by the guidance of 'the energy bus' which is the book eichorst handed out for Christmas to staff. If it is true eichorst and Bo only talked 8 times for a total of 160 minutes in two years... well then yes eichorst isn't doing his job IMO. There's a lot more to being a leader than making decisions. I'm jot saying one way is more right than another but I prefer people like Bo over eichorst. Just my two cents.

Bo isn't a cowboy. Actually, Bo is the big pu&&y.

There are coaches who can swear, holler, motivate and coach circles around Bo Pelini without being thin-skinned finger-pointers.

If a "real man" were to say goodbye to his team after being fired, the speech would look a lot different than Bo Pelinis.

I guess I didn't disagree with anything he said. The yekking is wrong movement is being pushed by the same crowd that promotes the first place for every kid bullsh#t. Just my opinion. And on the block I grew up on, yes, pelini would be the man and eichorst the pu&&y in this scenario. Just my own experience. Not saying it was the same on yours.
