  1. My opinion of Tom Shatel just went up after rediscovering this column from Jan. 10, 2015. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/shatel-nebraska-would-be-wise-to-remain-on-good-terms/article_15a887f3-cdb7-5f33-a252-3dce936d9785.html
  2. There is no better time to take over a program then when it is DOWN. Scott showed he understood that when he chose UCF in the first place. It magnifies your credentials when you show improvement. He has captured lightning in a bottle at UCF this year and his stock is HIGH HIGH HIGH. To stay at UCF now would be like a QB who just won the Heisman Trophy as a junior deciding to come back to college as a Senior. Their choice, but the odds are that they are going to cost themselves a LOT of money when they can't replicate two-years in a row. Frost could not only come home (his stated #1 target) but come home with another chance to magnify his achievement by making a solid improvement over 2017. Even with NU's schedule, he knows he can put a more competitive product on the field, I'm sure.
  3. https://sports.yahoo.com/sources-florida-preparing-widen-search-beyond-chip-kelly-200936146.html Poor Florida.
  4. Oh you're right. In fact, he was accused of sabotaging the Raiders there by Tim Brown. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/8868196/tim-brown-bill-callahan-sabotaged-oakland-raiders-super-bowl-xxxvii-loss Gee, great hire.
  5. Riley could remain at NU in some capacity??? His contract is for so much money for so many years to be Head Coach. It doesn't mean we can pay him to clean stadium bathrooms, just because we owe him money through 2020.
  6. Broyles semi-finalist Auburn DC Kevin Steele spent his freshman year at Furman St. before transferring to Tennessee where he was a member of Johnny Majors 1978-1979 squads. Wonder if Tennessee is looking at him for HC?
  7. If Scott Frost falls through, there is a certain former Oakland Raider coach that is now available: Ken Norton.
  8. Hey guys. I think I know how we can get to 200 pages quicker!
  9. Broyles Award Semi-Finalists: https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/sec-football/four-sec-coaches-among-broyles-award-semifinalists-top-assistant/ Some of these guys are going to be offered Head Coaching positions in coming weeks. Todd Grantham, for example, I'd wager.
  10. You sure? Source: http://heavy.com/sports/2017/10/scott-frost-florida-ucf-football-gators/
  11. Thanks, but if you don't mind, I will await jessicajr for the Frost Family's answer. I see what you did there.
  12. So here's something to mull over, when we talk about "not getting outbid" for Scott Frost's services. Many may have missed this story when it happened back in August: http://www.omaha.com/huskers/football/nu-regents-approve--year-million-deal-to-keep-huskers/article_ae6e23de-7ea1-11e7-8e2e-477ffaff284e.html So the money is great, but keep in mind that Adidas is under investigation by the FBI for the Kentucky/Pitino/Hookers scandal. Also, is it possible that SHOES could be a factor in Scott Frost's choice? Oregon was (obviously) a Nike school. Interestingly CFU is a Nike school. Sounds improbably, but is it possible that he might have 2nd thoughts about NU because we are an ADIDAS school? 13. Quoting myself here, as I posted this back on page 134. I recommend everyone reread the section on "Plausible Deniability". There will be a quiz later.
  14. Scott Frost: UCF doesn't need gimmicks to prepare for USF http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/ucf-knights/knights-notepad/os-sp-ucf-football-1121-story.html
  15. This guy has a podcast posted today (AAC Daily) with the opinion/wishful thinking that Frost is staying in Orlando with UCF: http://www.bcsnn.com/blog/253-aac-daily-is-scott-frost-staying-in-orlando-with-ucf.html The interview is with "UCF Knightline's Andrew Phegley" (LinkedIn page here) Neither of these guys sound like big time sources. Just entrepreneurs trying to get attention. Time will tell if their "compelling reasons" for SF to stay are truly compelling.
  16. That doesn't sound to me like a "terrible injustice" but rather a Terrible Justice.
  17. Are we still talking about Scott Frost here, or the other messiah whose return is highly anticipated?
  18. jessicajr I apologize because I am the one who apparently got the MODS looking at IP addresses for your area. It was NOT my intention to get you banned. I was just trying to figure out who you might be (looking for a name among SF's team mates or other NU connected names from that area). It appears (to ME) that the MODS were a little overzealous in banning you - as if there is only one person from your IP Address that could have an account here. (When I post from work I have the same outwardly facing IP as anybody else who works here, for example.) I hope that the MODs will let the jessicajr account stand, until an OBVIOUS rule infraction occurs.
  19. If this Jan. 1 Bowl matchup indeed happens, it will be Must See TV.
