Started watching Shogun on Hulu. Kinda like a Japanese Game of Thrones. All subtitles though

Finished Shogun a couple days ago. Thought it was great and done very well. I did not know much about 1600’s Japan. Supposedly the book/show are very historically accurate even though it is a work of fiction.  Would’ve liked a slightly different/better ending but I guess we can only blame the book author for that.

Absolutely. I'd also say the QB coaching is light years ahead of where it's been. Danny struggled a bit but felt like he was a little jacked up, seemed better when the game sped up and he could get into a rhythm. If he's 3rd, I'm more than OK with that. The best thing for him and the program is if we have the luxury to put another year between him and Dylan. Haarberg looked far, far more capable as a passer.

I'd have to watch the game more to say anything too specific, but overall the offense did a way better job getting the ball out of the QBs hands on time and in rhythm. A little messy with the penalties but not surprising given the parameters of the game. First reaction is the offense made some major strides with the ability to get a lot better.

Yes, getting the ball out on time and in rhythm was maybe the most noticeable improvement. Those few tenths of a second is all it takes to turn a well defended ball (or a pick) into a positive completion. Accuracy and quality of the throws was also very evident. I was even impressed by a few of the incompletions.  At one point DR threw 2 consecutive incomplete passes to the endzone but the ball placement was excellent. Gave the receiver a chance but denied the defender. Halfass scrimmage or not, there were many excellently delivered balls.

I agree, but analyzing the spring game is crazy.

Spring game or not, it’s very easy to see that our QB talent is lightyears ahead of where’s it’s been. Obviously this is not a real game but balls are being thrown that Nebraska fans have never seen before. Yes, I said never before.

This has happened??  Was giving Ukraine Javelin missiles being pro-Putin?  The missiles Obama wouldn’t give.  Downplaying Russia strength in 2012, allowing a Crimea takeover..I guess BHO is pro-Putin :dunno

I think it was pretty clear to anyone and everyone that Trump or Biden would have legally challenged the results of an extremely close election, and when those legal challenges lost, both would have left the WH which is what happened.  I know I was told by people on this board, maybe even you that Orange Man Bad wouldn’t leave the WH even if he lost.

Yeah….if you consider Jan 6 a coup, we are screwed once China and Russia realize how easy it will be to take us over.   Who needs Nukes when you can get 3,000 rag tag citizens to take over Washington.

    I certainly got this wrong.

However you feel about abortion…Roe V Wade was not settled in a lawful way.   SCOTUS correctly settled that.   Good on them.  I didn’t think they would have the guts to make the correct and hard decision.  Now it’s rightfully up to Congress to make national abortion law.   Until then, it’s up to the States as it should be when Congress hasn’t regulated it through law.   That’s kinda how our system is set up.

First off, you and others constantly said she was the future of the Republican party and a current leader.  That still isn’t true.  Whatever influence you think she has, is confined to about 10 other looney members of Congress who are as looney as her.  Similar to “The Squad” on the other side.  And didn’t Marge get kicked off a committee assignment?

Fun fact….The President isn’t elected by popular vote.

Here’s another fun fact…The President is immune from some laws us normies must follow, so are Congresspeople.  The question for SCOTUS and what they are deciding  is when does immunity stop.

Another fun fact. You, on these various pages of HB, have chosen to downplay most every R misdeed and have defended to ridiculous extents the wrong side of virtually every issue that your favored GOP party holds dear. Yes, you’ve finally come around to reluctantly denouncing Trump but you still fail to acknowledge the soul rot and destruction he and MAGA has left in your party.

Okay, maybe this isn’t a “fun” fact but it is a fact nonetheless.

What an absolute mess around Lincoln and Omaha.   What I’m trying to figure out is how many different tornadoes were there?

I have a number of friends on the west side of omaha.  Luckily, I haven’t found any with major damage other than one by Blair that lost some out buildings…their house is still standing though.

We have a couple different nieces that both had minor damage but a 3rd niece, her husband’s co-worker house is absolutely gone. The whole lot was leveled to the dirt. Picture looks like what we saw in Moore Oklahoma 10+ years ago. Not good.

  6. @admo

What the heck is wrong with your Oilers? They failed to win me a bunch of $$ last night. I figured Kings, at home, in the playoffs….can’t possibly lose. Wrong.

Of course the problem may have been me. Went 0fer 3 yesterday.

    Toronto-nope.

    Dallas-nope.

    Edmonton-nope.

I was laid-off and the non-compete was still in effect. I ended up changing industries due to it.

I don’t know anything about non-competes but I have to believe there is not a jury anywhere that would find you at fault after the employer laid you off. I would think you could completely ignore it at that point. (In my absolutely worthless legal opinion)

Plus, everyone has basically just stopped listening to the NCAA anyway and anytime they go to court they get beat like me when I would talk back to my Mom.

Haha….I’m sure you earned those beatings

I can’t remember what I did to start this but one time my mom was gonna slap me, I took off running away and she followed. She slipped on a rug on a wood floor and fell flat on her back. I went over to make sure she was okay and as I leaned down she reached up and slapped me probably 3x harder than she would’ve originally

I think this is a Heisman ruling not NCAA but I could be wrong.  I don't think they are part of the same thing but I guess I don't know for sure.

Actually I think you are correct. I don’t believe the Heisman Trophy Trust (formerly the Downtown Athletic Club) is subject to NCAA rules or compliance.  So I guess they can do whatever they want.

Nice bounce back for the Avs last night, and it was great to see Georgie have a good game. Taking one of two on the road is what I was hoping for, now they've got to dominate on home ice the next two.

    ESPN Correction- Gorgiev :bang

Why can’t supposedly professional sports announcers take 10 minutes and learn the correct pronunciations…..and maybe a little bit about the game itself.  ESPN sucks so bad at doing hockey games. I won’t even go into the officiating of the first 2 games

It was nice to see him turn it around from game 1. Now we have home ice advantage. Should get Girard back for game 3.  Think Avs win the series 4-2.

I didn't follow teach's advice but I did lose $300. But I've gained back $115 now. I should probably pay more attention but I just auto invest my retirement stuff and don't look at it much.

I have one account that I am super active with, trying to see how I do on my own.

Then I have 3 others where the money just goes in and that is it. I look at it maybe once every few months.

As my guy always reminds me; It’s time in the market, not timing the market.

Absolutely brutal to put up 6 goals against the best goalie in the NHL and lose. Georgie is an absolute mess right now.

Yeah definitely should’ve stopped a couple of those but the D breakdowns and that ridiculous perfect centering pass, to the wrong team, from Manson didn’t help. Georgie has to find a way to bail them out at least once in a while.

I actually thought the Avs looked pretty decent, at least better than I was expecting. The refs didn’t do us any favors. That questionable goal by the Jets had to be the quickest review in NHL history and that uncalled for whistle on our disallowed goal  Puck was still loose on a delayed penalty. I think Avs take game 2.

Tattoos are one thing. Tattoos that loudly announce your satanic leanings are another.

Giant nose rings and face studs are yet another thing. You don't do any of this if you don't like reveling in negative attention, especially from the people you have no intention of impressing.

That's why that clip feels like clickbait. She knows exactly what she's doing.

Yeah, there is no way she doesn’t completely understand why she didn’t get the job. Heck I have non customer facing employees and I wouldn’t hire anything that looked like that. Anybody who really doesn’t “get” that is too stupid to hire.
