How much does a bracketologist make? What school do you go to to get that degree?

The pay varies greatly. You go to bracketology school… It’s like regular college except instead of going to class you just drink and watch sports.

Disclaimer- obviously this is not true or I would be a bracketologist.

That's why I said Trev can be an a$$h@!e too. There's no way he comes out of this looking fresh. What he did is pretty unforgivable to a fan base that's been s#!t on for decades, and the only beacon in the limelight has been volleyball (thank god for John Cook and those women). His tweets the past 24hrs have also been extremely cringe.

It's one thing for us 9 to 5 people to leave a job because our bosses suck, but he was getting paid almost $2M/yr to guide this program and deal with the bulls#!t. $2M in Lincoln Nebraska goes a loooong way. To lie to a fandoms face and tell them the things he did the past few years and then fly out the door to an old rival just when things are looking up is trash. Even more so when he never spoke out about the issues publicly. The dude would have had the entire state's ear. As an alumni and supposed lover of the program he had a responsibility to speak out, and he didn't.

Yep. The underlying cause BS does nothing to diminish Trev effing the University and fanbase. Time won’t heal this. I am not opposed to removing his NIL from everything related to Nebraska. At the very least they should change his name on the stadium to an Aggie maroon color. Pound sand Trev.

I'd be curious to know how much money initially came in on the Nebraska side to push the spread 2 points in our favor since this morning. When the line was -3.5, it must have been like 90% of the money coming in on Nebraska, no?

I don’t know how much money it takes to move a bball line a point? In football they say it takes about $1M to move the line a point. Prob impossible to tell what percentage since Vegas only strives to balance the $$ on each side.

I pull my info from ESPN, so not always the most reliable lines but close enough for government work.

Well mine are just from one site, not a compilation of Vegas. And TBH I don’t know if it’s a percentage of the money or of the number of bets placed. So it might be useless info. Just trying to contribute something

For those of us in Omaha, people still complain about his actions at UNO. I had a conversation about this a couple of weeks ago.  Local wrestling is still pissed.

I cut part of your post because it wasn't important to the conversation.

    Context has meaning.

I’m sure local wrestling is still pissed. Probably also some other Omaha locals (possibly some people you know or also talk to) pissed about a few things he did or didn’t do. Doesn’t change my point that those grievances don’t add up to squat relative to the UNL football, volleyball and basketball programs. Most of us don’t give a FF what Trev did at UNO.

    That's not true.

I disagree. Please provide any shred of proof that people in Nebraska even give 10% of a s#!t for UNO that they do about UNL football and the major sports.

Use the whole sentence and not the phrase you cut, pasted,  and used in bad faith.

Pot meet kettle. Just prior to this post you complained about another poster using a portion of a quote…..then you did exactly the same thing by editing my post

  7. And I have to add, damn few people in Nebraska actually care about what he did at UNO. Football. Volleyball. Basketball. At the flagship University in Lincoln. That is what people really care about. You might generally say that is all they care about. So, imo, this talk of he was disliked by some for what transpired at UNO is extremely minor in the grand scheme.

  8. Politics and lack of leadership aside, I’m struggling to see how this really affected Trev. Okay so Ronnie and Ted left and he didn’t have a permanent boss named yet. Not a good situation, quite ridiculous frankly, but how does it directly adversely impact the AD? I have to believe that Trev was pretty much able to do what he wanted to do as long the athletics budget was okay and team performances were acceptable or trending up. I don’t see the WBB fiasco being any reason for his leaving. I can’t imagine Trev was too opposed to the conservative side of things.

We can blame anti-wokeness and politics all we want for the leadership vacuum and probably be correct but, what specifically about the situation made it intolerable for Trev? He got paid. He had a good contract. He was at his alma mater, supposedly in the job he wanted. All I’m left with is Trev struggles with the slightest bit of adversity and is somewhat of a prima donna. I’m failing to see how it was so bad he couldn’t persevere until the leadership issue got addressed.

I think these clearly provide the reason. Sure there may be additional things within the system but this appears to be the source of the problem from a very well connected person in the know.

Seems the issues are likely to continue until the base problems are addressed. Have fun building stability when all you have to offer is a little more money than most places.

Rumor is he was going to retire to South Carolina, to be closer to his daughters (I know someone who taught them)

So maybe this deal came along and it was just so much cash he had to take it.

That is the only thing that makes sense. Big cash grab prior to retiring.
