  1. LSU AD backed Miles says he is staying. He was informed after the game vs. Texas A&M. Ah, missed that. Thanks LSU's AD (department) is reeking of incompetency after this whole charade. Basically the boosters and the director wanted him gone, but then they realized how much public backlash they would get if they made such an idiotic decision. Georgia getting rid of Richt is sad because he's been a good coach for them and an even better person, but also totally understandable. He's underachieved consistently for a long time now - really no excuse in the world for Georgia to not be winning the East the last several years. I wouldn't call 144-51 underachieving.. Head coaching record Overall 144–51 Bowls 9–5
  2. Hey, you came out of hiding after three weeks of wins and positive vibes here, coupled with Pelini's season-ending losses and well-publicized meltdowns. You must be so relieved to get back on schedule with your Riley/Nebraska/Eichorst bashing. Cool. Great thread. Just getting annoyed with the player blaming and bashing. That tends to die down when NU is winning. Now it flares up as an excuse. FYI, I posted after MSU. Not so much during the bye week. They were still bashing the players after the wins. At least that's how I see comments like "the players finally bought in" or "I wish the players bought in sooner". Some fans will do anything to protect Riley from any kind of criticism. You think saying this is bashing players? It is bashing the players. It's deflecting criticism away from Riley and putting it on the players. I can agree with deflecting, but it is NOT player bashing... well, it isn't unless you have an agenda to push. To me all that means is there were players that were not happy with Bo... AH hah, that is the reason some call it bashing.. The Bo thing again. What's with the bullsh#t agenda straw man you guys keep bringing up. My only agenda is for Nebraska to win more games than they lose. But when every criticism is met with "player x sucks and is to blame" or "the players didn't buy in and are to blame" takes away any accountability from Riley and to me is bashing the players. Not everything is about Bo f'ing Pelini These players never really seemed to quit, seemed to be bought in from game 1, but we're put into positions in which they could not succeed by the coaches. Everyone was hating on Gerry, and then bring up his ejection as a reason the defense had issues in he second half of the Iowa game. Everyone was so high on Tommy at the beginning of the year. That he made so many improvements in mechanics due to Langsdorf. Then we lost to Illinois, on a windy day throwing the ball. We lose to Purdue passing the ball. We lose to Iowa throwing the ball. And then we say Tommy is retarded (AFhusker), that he can't throw. That he should leave the team. But anyone that suggest we shouldn't pass as much is derided. We can't run the ball 70 times a game in 2015! Our RBs suck, we can't run the ball. Our o line sucks, we can't run the ball. f'ing straw men. I don't want to abandon the pass, but the coaches sure as sh#t don't have a problem abandoning the run. The blame for every loss is ultimately in the coaches. But to many here there is only blame on the players, so they bash them to protect Riley from criticism. See you are changing the scope of the argument. We were talking about the post in this thread. That is why I brought up the Bo thing, because of all of the husker sites I have lurked on I see this very thing. The Bo backers will find anything that is not glowing towards a player as player bashing. I have zero issues will saying whatever you want about the coaches. You probably meet oppositions because of how little the coaches had coached at NU. For me it was always give them time to start coaching a game, stop bitching because of what he did, give him time then you can bitch about what he has done here. I thought the hire was ignorant as well, but realized it didn't matter what I said, so I was willing to give him time. now that the season is over you have something to complain about and base it on actual facts from this season, as the NU coach I mean. There is nothing wrong with calling out the players when they are not performing, and saying "they have not bought in" is not bashing anyone.. Saying a player is not performing the way they are being taught is not bashing. It is calling it like it is.
  3. Had he thrown it to his wide open TE it would have been haild as a brilliant call. But Tommie is Tommie and he's going to throw it deep. Every. Frickin. Time. CU26QxsU8AAn2gf.png No it wouldn't have been. it would have been a lucky call. In that situation you kick the field goal 100 out of 100 times. We had the time to drive down again (which we actually did do).

You think saying this is bashing players? It certainly implies that the problem was the players beforehand. Tommy is an all conference talent who has been put in bad positions game after game. Is he perfect? No. But no college quarterbacks are It implies that PART of the problem is the players not buying into Riley. Gerry said the same thing (finally buying in part). Tommy is a great athlete, I will give him that. You don't win big games with the number of mental mistakes he makes. But I put most of that on the coaches for putting him in those situations to begin with. I was 100% behind Mike (because I had no choice. Was totally shocked by the hire), but since then he has showed me, well nothing. I also 100% get the arguement that he needs his players to run his system... but he lied. He said he would fit his system to the players we have. The OC is not doing that, and the OC is under Riley, so it is ultimately Mike's fault. Banker is a failure so far as well, and defense wins championships.

The Bo thing again. Its literally blaming the players by saying they aren't doing what they're being taught. It's the EXACT same thing as "they just didn't execute" that Bo said for 7 years. And we all know how much the fans loved hearing that... I can see the point, but I still disagree that it is bashing. Was Gerry bashing his teammates when he said the same thing? No, he was merely pointing out some players had not bought in fully for one reason or another.

  8. I put more blame on the play calling. Tommy is a horrible passing QB because of his terrible decision making, so what do they do? They have him throw 40 times a game. TA would not start for any other Top 10 program. Top 10? Not sure. Maybe not, but maybe OSU. But he'd start at Oregon right now. He'd start at some other good programs too. He should have been all conference this year. Your obsession with everything linked to Bo clouds your judgement!

If you have ever perused other husker boards you will find cm does this type of thing on every board. Is he still complainging about Bo? I would be shocked if he isn't

  11. An All-American QB will fix the defense too? Damn!
  12. 4th and 1 and your throw a fade.. That explains Mike Riley!
  13. Really? Les Miles? We could do worse that is for sure... I would prefer to see Frost myself!
  14. That is bad coaching my friend.. They continue to call plays that put him in a position to really screw things up.
  15. Well, Les thinks he is coaching his last game. I wonder if he would consider NU...
  16. I found this but no link to back it up.. http://www.scout.com/college/ohio-state/forums/3154-hineygate/14182992-beck-is-the-play-caller Here is the link saying it is beck, or Beck saying it is Beck. http://www.cleveland.com/osu/index.ssf/2015/10/ohio_state_football_who_is_act.html I stand corrected.
  17. As I understand it, things have changed there since January. Beck is in the booth, Warinner on the sideline and they shared play calling duties. according to what? You may be right..
  18. http://www.cleveland.com/osu/index.ssf/2015/01/ohio_state_officially_names_ed.html Ohio State officially names Ed Warinner play caller, adds former Nebraska assistant Tim Beck as quarterbacks coach
  19. Beck doesn't call plays Yes, he does. Both he and Warinner are co-coordinators, but earlier in the season, Beck was elevated to the #1 playcaller there. These two clowns had one good year (2007) where they went to the Orange Bowl. But it was their defense that got em there. No he doesn't, beck in the QB coach and a co-coordinator but doesn't call plays
  20. Bo is probably a great guy to chat with, probably a great husband and father. When it comes to being a head coach, he can't handle it, not yet anyway!
