People need to realize that Athletic funds are not the same thing as general University funds, but that's always easier said than done.

Always one of the easiest things to explain and hardest things to get people to understand.

If I'm donating my money for a specific thing and I then I find out the plan is to use the money on something I didnt pledge it for, I'm either not committing to my pledge or suing to get my money back. Then the money proceeds to not exist for the athletic department to use at all. Super easy concept

Not NU related, but Alabama has sent all of their players Apple Watches so that they can keeps tabs of the activity while they are away from campus.

Pretty sure while I was still involved with the team (when Frost first arrived) the Huskers did something like that too. Probably still doing it.

Late response here so my apologies (and maybe somebody has posted about this as well) but two days after you posted this someone I know looped me into an email chain with a 'trusted' friend of his who knows someone that works for homeland security. This person was saying that the national guard was being mobilized for basically what you're describing.

At this point, I don't know how much truth there is to it, particularly since there haven't been any announcements about it yet today. I imagine that something to that level has always been a part of a severe contingency plan but I haven't heard anything about it besides gossip which makes me think (for now at least) it's some sort of practical joke making the rounds.

But, like I said, it may not be. It's one of those things I've chosen to not pay any attention to until it comes from more than one reliable news source.

My friends in the national guard say it was medical and service guard members. They reported last friday by midnight (or noon, idk, is was 12 sometime last friday) is what I've unofficially heard

I know it's different jurisdictions, different crimes, etc. but stuff like this always interested me. For the stuff that Washington was originally charged with, compared to this guy, and they're given the same sentences. To me that's weird.

A man filmed licking a tub of ice cream will spend 30 days in jail and pay restitution to Blue Bell

His fine I understand. The 30 days in jail seems like a massive waste of time, resources, and money. But that's just my own opinion

Will Cain, ESPN talking head, and Adam Rittenberg, ESPN's Big 10 guy, recently discussed programs that are down in a segment on the Will Cain Show... Those programs were Nebraska, USC, Miami and FSU. Both agreed that USC has the best chance of the four to get to the playoff soon. That I guess is in spite of Clay. They said Mike Norvell would do well despite the fact that conversations about FSU are all about the bad culture there.

Lastly, they settled on the notion that Nebraska is settling in as a sub par program and may never return to any kind of championship caliber football.

How many Nebraska fans would reluctantly agreed with those sentiments?

I am not ready to do so and find it humorous that they stipulate Nebraska might never come back.

    Never. Really.

That's a long time ya know.

Rittenberg used to be pretty good but lately his NW bias has been showing and his personal thoughts have been coming through in his reporting. Anyone can look at USC recently and then look at their recent recruiting classes to see that their trajectory is pointing down in a bad way. Rittenberg is still just butthurt the Huskers beat NW and ran onto the field excited about the game winning field goal:dunno

I'm glad we have his brother but man do I wish we had this guy for another year. He was so solid at nose this year I'd love to see him with some great linebacker play

His leadership presence was huge for this team

Njoku? I was excited about him when he was a hard knocks sensation but the jury is still out if he's a legit contender in NFL. Hard to say when everything was so messed up with that passing game, from the QB play to the play calling to the o-Line. I mean, he ceretainly could be great. Kitchens and Baker made OBJ look like me out there, so here's hoping..

Kitchens saw the strengths of his offense (running) and thought "nah fam they'll see that coming. Let's pass it"

Ya, no coach has a Rob Gronkowski in his line-up and chooses not to utilize that.. So, if the kid is a game change in the passing game, he'll be running routes for Scotty.

Freddie Kitchens would prove you wrong :D

I got banned on /r/cfb because I called the Buffaloes a stepping stone program after this happened. Everyone was sucking up to the buffs so I had to bring them back down to earth and troll them a bit while they were super salty. Worth it.

I highly doubt that's all you said that got you banned
