I don’t know anything about non-competes but I have to believe there is not a jury anywhere that would find you at fault after the employer laid you off. I would think you could completely ignore it at that point. (In my absolutely worthless legal opinion)

Mike Riley's teams seem to have had a no compete clause.  Especially on Saturdays.  I guess you could say the smae for the SF years too.

I'm sure you are like the rest of us good Lutherans. You make no other noise while singing along to the praise band, because you go to the cool contemporary service, while sitting in "Your Seats". Heaven help the visitor who came early today and sat in your families seat. If they come back, they'll learn.

    Nailed that one!

I am a traditional organ guy though.  My wife is an organist.  I don't mind contemporary at all, problem is a lot of Lutherans are really bad at it.

It is something to do...that is why they are there.  It is is a social gathering for them, it is a tailgate.  They drank before or during and/or they smoked before or during (nothing wrong with that)

Go ask 10 girls at a Husker tailgate who the Huskers are playing that day...9/10 won't know and their answers will sound similar to hers.  They are there to be part of a social gathering.

This is not a "guys are smarter than girls" thing, if anything girls are smarter than guys by a long shot.

This is just a "they don't even know why they are there" thing.

You have 3 groups of people there.

    1.  Pro-Pally (Maybe anti-Israel but probably not)

    2.  Pro-Hamas (Anti every other person)

    3.  Social Gatherers

    4.  I don't want to go to class

    5.  I heard I can get laid here...

This pastor nails it.  He puts the 'trump bible' in its place along with Christian Nationalism.  He makes it clear - the gospel isn't an American gospel but the gospel of Jesus Christ.   Plain and Simple.  It isn't for grifters like Trump.

Thanks for posting that!  The fact that the dude is on the south and it seems like a mostly white congregation??  Makes it even better.  I heard a sermon in the same vain 2 summers ago.  Us Lutherans don't jump up and say hallelujah But I almost did.

  5. There is some type of state competition here in Ohio.  About 5 or 6 years ago we had a team do very well.  They also sat in the library and started trading or something. (this was their own investments) Started with Bitcoin and worked their way buy and trading and I guess made some good money during the school year.

A couple of thoughts.  If you are upset about it, why retweet it?  You are doing the same thing.

There is no way the Kremlin doesn't already have the blueprints.

Anyway, all of these people are insane.

They can live with you FOREVER!  Haha

Rates are insane right now.  I don't think it is an "election issue" at the moment but it is not trending great.

Not living with me.  Both renting.

It is the interests rate combined with the high house prices.  We are in the same Biz.  At their age I already ownd a house.  I just feel bad for them.  (Not bad enough to loan them money)  They keep hoping for some relief.

Dude, remember when they had the Dollar Menu!!!

Sad thing is I think Wendy's might be cheaper.

McDonalds might be about the same price as Canes here, and Canes you get more food.

Ehhhh, I am torn on this.

I have no idea how it would work BUT a HS kid that lives at home with Mom/Dad in a 600K house...just doesn't need 18 dollars an hour to work at Crumble Cookie.

With that said, the capitalist in me says that everyone should take every freaking penny they can get...

But then the hungry side of me says that I hate paying 10 dollars at McDonalds.

Literally, this is more confusing to me than capital punishment, term limits or abortion.  Those are all easy.

$10. you must get everything off of the value meal.  Mine is about $14.

Our 'righteous cause' isn't always so righteous.  I wonder what would happen if we stopped being the world's police man?  Some would say the world would go to hell - the dictators would rule.  Others would say, let each country live out the consequences of their own choices.  Others might say, if we don't do it, the strong will keep oppressing or taking over the weak (Russia/Ukraine).  In many cases perhaps most, we get in our own way in seeking to doing what we think is good.

USA is always in a damned if we do, damned if we don't situation.

Soon we will just have the Aliens to worry about and we will all become slaves to some type of green men.  Sorry, too many sci-fi shows.

  11. There are  a lot of things done in the name of politics, that maybe many of us don't like.  This happens on both sides.  Republicians are not even trying to hide or fake the stupid stuff anymore.

Trump selling Bibles?  Sounds like soething right out of Babylon Bee?  Nope, it is really happening!

Yes, I wonder if Reagan's words about the Soviet Union are going to hit his party.  Ash Heap of History

The GOP may survive but perhaps in name only and it will be a much different party if it doesn't reform itself.  Reformation will

take many election cycles to rid itself of the trump cancer.

The hardcore Trump people will jump on some other bandwagon when Trump dies.  It will take many cycles to reform.  I know there are people who hold their noes and vote Trump out of fear.   I would love toknow the percentages of hardcore Trumper as opposed to voting the party line, but hate Trump.

I am happy in the 3rd party world.   Not my 80 year old senile candidates.

It is the correct thread. Abortion rights are on the ballot. If Biden doesn't win, abortion will be criminalized early in the next term.

The worst thing that happened to the Repubs was the reversal of Roe V Wade.  It is an issue to run on, but you don't want it to actually happen like this.  I told my wife the republicans are now going to lose on this issue.  For once, I was right.

I am sure there are other issues that parties run on that they don't want to actually change.
