Yes, Milley said 2500 of our best trained men, I believe he said Seals. They would have been supported by military contractors and, get this, NATO troops! They don't say permanently, only that some US troops would remain behind.

@BigRedBuster, I agree, Trump was pretty clear on getting completely out. I don't think Trump would have taken the Joint Chiefs advice to leave behind a small force.

I had the hearing on for a few hours yesterday. Pretty much a rerun of the Senate Arms Services hearing in Sept 2021, had that on at the time too. Milley and McKenzie spent most of the day telling how the White House and the State Dept time after time ignored their advice. Heck, Joe Biden couldn't remember his briefings (a well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory). Milley and McKenzie testified otherwise.

Instead of honoring Trump's May 1st withdrawal date, Biden sent tthe military contractors home, abandoned Bagram Air Base, drew down the forces, and stayed months longer than agreed. 

The Republicans asked several times why Milley didn't do more. He goes straight up military, it's his job to advise the president, not to make or influence the president's decisions in public. He's had a change of mind on that stance, he suggested negotiations between Ukraine and Russia back in Nov 2022.

It makes no sense to me that Biden has some secret goal to get our soldiers actively involved in this. That’s what you’re implying. 

Yeah, let me clarify. Biden's only secret goal is to get elected. He's losing Muslim voters here in Michigan. He has problems in Minnesota and Georgia too. I doubt Biden does this if it were 8 months after the election rather than 8 months before. He wants to be seen as helping the Palestinians.

The Muslim terrorist groups from Lebanon to Egypt have 10,000s of rockets and drones. They've hit targets over a 100 miles away, Gaza is 25 miles long. Look at the Hezbollah drone attack on our base in Jordan, 3 servicemen killed and 80 injured. I believe the pier will become a honeypot for all these terrorist groups. The Iron Dome protects Israel, not the Mediterranean Sea. Is our military going to shoot down rockets over Gaza? Or Lebanon? Or Syria?

I don't believe Biden's promise of no boots on the ground. This is going to be a beachhead. There are going to be casualties. I don't see how this doesn't turn into a war zone.

Pretty slow here so here's a tidbit. Last year, did anyone notice that the high south stadium camera is the first replay on HuskerVision? It was, then other camera angles were shown. My son was a HV intern. Matt Rhule asked HV to do that. I guess it's the closest shot to an All 22. So check it out next time you're the stadium, high south is always the first.

We went to this game so this highlight is super cool. My kid's camera on Coleman's first TD! It was awesome!

You simply reminded me to be consistent. I was critical of Speaker Pelosi after the Capitol Police failures on J6. The Speaker has over site of the CP. Steve Nikoui was out of line and should have been removed from the gallery. No need to arrest and handcuff a Gold Star father. I'd call Johnson's office if I thought they would answer the phone. Just about every congressman lets their DC phone go to voice mail.
