So, I pumped that SF is Nebraska's new coach! However, I now have nothing to do at work except focus on the job that I actually get paid to do. In hindsight, I spent way too much time researching Nebraska coaching rumors and not doing my job...

Woah, 5 million per year buyout for the first 5 years, that's a commitment. Am I understanding it correct that NU would own him the full base salary each year then if he's let go before 5 years is up? If so, SF is getting a minimum of 5 years to right this ship and likely at least 7.

Just want to get into the Megathread one last time and celebrate!! I am glad that Scott is coaching the bowl game, it's not going to affect the recruiting class that much. I am guessing he'll focus on recruiting up until 12/20 for the early signing date. Then he can honestly back off a bit, win a bowl game with UCF, which will be good for NU recruiting and then be officially home and focus on the rest of the class up through the second signing day! Also, it's interesting that the UCF AD said he's searching for a replacement "for weeks." I am thinking the AD and SF had talked and he knew what was going on longer than we thought!

I'm 25 and so I was 9 the last time Nebraska won a CCG let alone a National Title. I remember when I was a kid that NU was the best and supposed to be untouchable, but obviously don't remember the games. The vast majority of my NU football memories are The Bo/MR years.

Wow if this is true, it's not just the fans making UT look bad. This would be the equivalent of TO interfering in past hires/searches which obviously I can't imagine.

Why do I feel like this picture sums up the last 15 years of NU football?

Sources within the UCF media community have confirmed that an announcement for Frost’s change of hats will be on Saturday night after the Knights play Memphis at Spectrum Stadium. Knight News will be following any major announcements in addition to Saturday’s game coverage. Should Frost change his mind to stay at UCF, we will post an announcement outside of coverage – this one likely in all caps. Sounds to me like they think he's leaving and it'll be announced Sat. night. The title is misleading, but nothing in the article says decision Sat. night, it says announcement.

It's honestly so quiet around the Husker HC search that I think the media guys are looking for anything. OWH is highlighting SF's past, LJS is heavy on the SF stuff, but I think people are sort of caught up on that stuff. It's so quiet that people are looking for clicks and an article saying that SF may not come will get them regardless of if the information is bogus. I mean the local guys are basically just retweeting things coming out of Orlando because they have nothing to work with.

I think it's also why we need to give SF 5-6 years at least. The first 2-3 years he may be working to evolve his offense for the B1G and its defenses. Great coaches are able to continually evolve their offenses and defenses over time so no one can figure them out and that's what SF has been doing at UCF and I think he could bring to NU.

He's a competitor and wants to win. I think if he sees a deficiency he'll do whatever to fix it including making a change.

I can imagine the idea of moving with a brand new baby wouldn't be ideal and she probably isn't a huge fan of cold weather since she's from AZ. However, I imagine she'd be supportive of SF's coaching goals and desires. I know my better half would tag along if she knew my dream job required us to move.

I read somewhere that the ASU AD doesn't necessarily want the next coach to get rid of the assistants and instead consider keeping them. Also think I heard that was sort of a nonstarter for Frost as he wants to keep his guys. That could factor into any opportunity there.

“UCF started kind of … one of their recruiting guys followed me on Twitter." - Tate Wildeman in this LJS article yesterday. I know it was debated 100 pages ago, but no one agreed that it happened recently. This obviously confirms that UCF guys started following our recruits recently.

This was one of the 5 or 6 games I've been to. I will never forget the entire stadium was bouncing up and down you couldn't hear anything!

I grew up in Wyoming and live in Montana now. We usually hit at least one -30 degree day in the winter and have several 100+ days in the summer, so we get variety. The falls and springs are a bit shorter than I'd like, but man they are gorgeous when they last. We get plenty of snow, but our heat is dry heat like AZ. I don't know how you all handle the humidity, I can't! My dad and I always say we'd move to NE permanently if it only had mountains like out here...
