  1. Was the gift an inanimate object? Did the gift signify something to the nobleman; that is, did the gift itself carry some type of message that the nobleman would become insulted, scared, or "displeased"? You said "expensive", did the gift contain precious stones or metals? rare? bought or obtained at great expense? did the gift have some sort of utilitarian purpose? Could you place the gift in a shoebox? Could you wear the gift? Did the king know that the nobleman would be "displeased" with the gift?
  2. I'll be there with my 7 and 5 year old daughters. Doubt that I'd be tailgating or doing any other pregame celebration involving alcohol since my kids will be making a drug pledge at halftime of the game (don't want to be hypocritical on game day). By the way...I heard that Jordan Adams has been moved to safety. Any truth in this?
  3. Damn, I'm relieved. That riddle was near unsolvable.
  4. Am I on the right track if I presume that the police added the name to catch/deceive a crook who was attempting to steal something? - like a sting operation or something to that effect? Does it matter what was being stolen? Was someone stealing luggage? Is the passenger list vital in the crook's attempt to steal something? Would the added name trigger the theft? That is, would the intended victim of the crime be the fictitious passenger? How about the other passengers, would they be victimized, as well? Is the crook an employee an airline? Am I getting warmer?
  5. Was there a stow-away aboard? Was the crime a theft? Was the crime a fraud? Was the crime a murder? Was the name added to coverup incompetence or negligence on the part of the airline? government agency? Was someone traveling incognito? Was the local/state government agency that added the name involved with ... law and order? utilities? airline regulations? education? air control? monitoring airports? public health? Was the name added to test or determine something? Was the criminal(s) aboard the flight? If so, was s/he a pilot or employee of the airline? a passenger? Why can't i figure this out....am I just stupid? (Don't answer that)
  6. I'm almost sure that I stashed a Twinkie somewhere in here!
  7. So, it was a U.S. domestic flight. Does it matter where the flight took off? Landed? Did it have anything to do with politics? A local political candidate? A state government official? Was the fictititious name added by the state or local government to hide something? deceive someone? protect someone? account for someone? Was someone supposed to be on the flight, but wasn't? I'm a little confused by the riddle. When you say that a fictititious name was "added", does that mean that there were x people aboard and the fictititious name would have made x+1 passengers aboard the flight - meaning that the passenger list has one more name than actual passengers? or does the fictititious name that was "added" mean that one of the names of the passengers on the flight wasn't their real name?
  8. KSU fans have nothing else to talk about...their team is going to be very good next year and so they have tear down another team and their coach to feel better. A part of me thinks that Callahan should ease off his "stingy" comments regarding JF, but then again, you're right...if the shoe fits. A some time, these 18-year olds need to step-up and be men of their word. It says something of a person's character when they renege on a commitment, especially so late in the game. We're better off without JF, IMO. Dang. These KSU fans like to refer to the "throat-slashing" gesture. That's the worse they can come up with? It makes all of their ranting about BC quite comical. Personally, I think that BC is a CLASS ACT. If he occasionally gets heated and does a "throat slash" or calls fans F*** Hillbillies, so what?! If you look at his demeanor on the sidelines, he is generally cool as ice...but, boy...don't piss him off! I like that!
  9. Was there actually a person added during the flight? That is, did the flight take off with X number of passengers and landed with X+1 passengers? If a person was added, was this addition attributed to a birth? Since the airline had to account for the extra passenger, a fictitious name was created. Was there ANY change to the number of people aboard the flight while it was in flight? .... or on the ground between destinations? You said "sort of" to the question of whether the fictitious person was added by the government. Was the government agency associated with... the IRS? a local or state government branch? FBI or CIA? some sort of aeronautics branch (FAA)? the military? judicial? executive branch? Was it a U.S. Flight? Was it a domestic flight? Was it an international flight? Do you call yourself "Slacker" because you shirk responsibility or work? ...tried to evade military service during wartime?.... ....not busy/sluggish? ....lacking in diligence or concern? .....or other?
  10. You know...that "Girls Gone Wild" video would have been alot better if they would've ditched the Fat Boy!
  11. Does it matter what the fictitious name was? Was the name added by the government? ......by an insurance company? ......by an airline employee? ......by the media? Did the fictitious name have anything to do with a passenger that was on-board the flight? If so, was this passenger a VIP of some sort? Were there ANY passengers aboard the flight? Was the flight's purpose important? That is; was the flight commercial? military? humanitarian aid/transport? recreational? Is there a limit as to how many questions I can ask?
  12. "awful" 2005?? What is this author smoking? I think that Colorado proved last year that they were NOT a good team. Returning the defense...which quite frankly stank over the last few games...is not a favorable attribute of this team. Seriously, does anyone think that Colorado has a chance of winning the North??? This guy must be joking!! KANSAS STATE I don't see a "rebound" for KSU. I think KSU will finish at the bottom of the B12 North. They will be lucky to post any wins over Missousi on the road, Iowa State at home, Nebraska at home. They may eeak-out a win over Kansas and Colorado, but those are road games...so I doubt it. Then, they have to play Marshall and Louisville AND Texas. They have two cupcake games at the beginning of the season. After that, I say that they will be LUCKY to win 3 games to finish with the same record as last year. On the flipside, I thought Prince did a decent job coming in and getting a decent recruiting class. It would be difficult for a new coach to come in and recruit so late. IOWA STATE, KANSAS & MISSOURI. Sounds about right.
  13. We will win in Ames. Basically, you're saying that NU has lost the last two times there...that's hardly a streak. I just think that we have improved ourselves significantly, and ISU has not. Like I said in a previous post in this thread, ISU's day in the sun has passed. You can't convince me that ISU has more talent then NU (well, you can try). NU stays-the-same or improves in every position next year except punter. The order has been restored, and NU will NOT lose to a B12 North team in 2006. Next five years: Nebraska rules the B12 North!!
  14. Colorado fans are too jealous of Nebraska's program to muster anything positive about the Huskers. It's envy - pure and simple. Now, on the other hand, I am NOT jealous of Colorado's program and I can't think of one positive thing to say about them. The one thing that Zac Taylor showed was smart decision-making (lack of mistakes including interceptions) and guts. Taylor showed grit, poise and determination in the face of Division I opponents. He also showed a propensity of picking up Callahans's WCO system in a short period of time. In fact, without Taylor, I don't think Nebraska finishes 7-4 and a bowl win. Now, if the writer of that post wants to believe that Hawkins, and untried and unproven player, is the answer for them, then so be it. With Hawkins or not, I think the Buffs football program is in total disarray. BTW Anyone visit the Buffs message boards after the signing of LOI?? Note that MANY of the members of those message boards gave the Buffs a "B" or better grade in recruiting? Here we are, giving the same grades to Callahan and company for their recruiting efforts. Its either the Buff fans have an unrealisticly favorable view of their team, or we have extremely high expectations of our coaches. I think that's the difference between a team that has won 5 National Championships and another that has won.....nada. By the way, I wish people would stop referring to Colorado as "sCUm". It's the same thing as Missouri and Colorado fans referring the the Big Red as the "Fuskers". It's all juvenile. I'm going off-topic....sorry.
  15. FF, you make a valid point about the "quality" of the wins the coaching staff had last year...but you have to admit that we were getting our swagger back by winning the last three games. And, I hope that you noticed that the offense started to gel at season's end, as well. You must see SOME progress from a year ago. It wouldn't kill you to admit it, or to conjure some positives from 2005. FF, just curious...who do you see us losing to next year? And, who do you think will be tops in the B12 North? (The question was posed by huskerfan8 a half dozen posts back) Again, just wondering how you see things panning out for the Big Red and the rest of the B12 N.
  16. If Callahan finishes worse than 8-4, there will be discontention in the Husker Nation. It may not be fair, but I don't think that husker fans will be happy with a 7-5 record next year. I think that expectations are higher than last year. There is no doubt in my mind that we will be putting a team on the field that is MUCH improved over last year. Callahan's system is in place. Barring a slew of key injuries, I think that Nebraska will be a dominant team next year. 9-3 or even 10-2 is quite reasonable, IMO. I agree with huskerfan8 that the only games that should give us grief are OSU, Texas A&M, Texas, USC. Your prediction includes a loss to Iowa State. You could certainly be right..... But, I think that their day in the sun, so to speak, is over. I'll be surprised if anyone picks them to win the B12 North next year. In fact, i'll wager that the majority of media predictions will have Nebraska as the favorite. There's not a team in the B12 North that has better talent. If you can think of one, let me know. GBR
  17. I'm just pysched that we have such great running back depth. We haven't been this deep in years. I like the addition of Wilson. The guy's a stud. Think he will push Lucky for the starting job. you'll definitely be seeing Wilson on the field with his share of touches. I see Glenn as a short yardage specialist. I'm worried that Leon will be lost in all of this. He has such great athletic ability, but he will be hard pressed to earn a starting position. Hope he sees some significant playing time next year...hope he doesn't become another Bobby Newsome. Jackson's surgery raises concerns whether he will be full strength when the season starts. I also think that with an improved OL, our running game will reestablish itself. Rotating the RBs is an option, but I think that you need a #1 go-to guy - like Ross -to carry the load. And, I think that will be Lucky. He showed glimpses of his promise during the Kansas game when returning kicks. I think he is the real deal and the coaches are sold on him. He just needs a hole to run through every once in awhile, and he has to show some patience waiting for those hole to open. Just my opinion...
  18. 10-2 ....that would be awesome!! The point is - I don't see us losing to a B12 North team. Do you? And, I agree with the original post in this thread, that we should dominate in the B12 North for at least the next few years. (Note, that my prediction does not have a single loss to a B12 North team!)
  19. Question worthy of a separate thread. I still think that we are good for one major upset - I think we take Texas at home (I know....it's hopeful thinking, just can't stand that everyone has written-off both those games already) Red/White Game - Another record for passing yards is set. Louisiana Tech - WIN. Not as close as the 2005 Maine game. Husker fans are satisfied. Lucky shows what he is capable of when the OL opens up some holes. Nicholls State - WIN. Beck gets some mop-up time. The Red-White game was more exciting. @ USC - LOSS. Not pretty. Troy - WIN We rebound nicely. Jones/Bowman combine for 5 INTs Kansas - WIN. Revenge is a dish best served cold. @ Iowa State - WIN (convincingly). Everyone wonders why Iowa State was picked by "experts" to win the B12 North @ Kansas State - WIN.Freeman is seen standing on the KSU sidelines crying. Wishes that he didn't listen to his dad. Texas - WIN. A major upset. Zach Taylor gets hurt. Beck leads the way. TV commentators get on the Husker bandwagon. @ Okahoma State - LOSS. OSU upsets UN. Beck is off his game. Missouri - WIN - Close game...nailbiter. Beck passes to Herian in the endzone as Herian is falling down. Herian can only kick the ball in the air. The ball is caught by a diving Nate Swift with 5 seconds left in the game. Despite win, we drop in the polls. @ Texas A&M - LOSS. UN comes out flat. Makes a lot of turnoffs. Crowd is a factor. Sad day in Huskerland. Colorado - WIN - Not even a contest. Zach Taylor is healthy and starts. Colorado finishes the season 4-8. Colorado message boards continue to display lack of class and vulgarity. They continue to insist that Colorado vs. Nebraska is a rivalry game, despite the fact that we have no respect for their program or fans. We sit back and smile. HUSKER RECORD IS 9-3
  20. Personally, I don't blame palmer. He wanted to get involved in Spring football...and why not? He wouldn't have had that chance at NU. Found it interesting that BC said that this wasn't the end of it. Wonder what he is up to. Does he think that there's a way to get Palmer back. Anyway, BC hasn't given up. But, I don't know the logic of trying to hang onto a player who doesn't want to be here.
  21. They're destined for the Vikings, if they ever make it pro.
  22. Note that I placed a little winking guy ( ) after my word "harsh". My way of letting know you that I wasn't being critical of your opinion - Sorry, if you felt otherwise.
  23. I would hate to recruit for a school like Ohio. You can't expect a top 20 class or even a top 40 class for that matter. All Frank has to do is try to out-recruit the other schools like Akron, Buffalo, any directional Michigan school or Ball State. It's a whole other game in the Mid-Americas. I think that the only school in the Mid America conference that had a better ranked recruiting class was Akron. With that in mind, I think Frank did a decent job recruiting.
  24. Benard, it's a sea of enlightenment every time you grace us with your knowledge of collegiate football. I suggest that you write a book entitled "Callahan sucks, Solich rocks!". i think it would be about a page long...if that. There's no team in the B12 North that should stand in our way. Totally agree ETR. The other teams have not helped themselves as much as we have in terms of recruiting and getting the best players on the field. Our recruiting in the last two years has got us back on track. If Callahan and company continue out-recruiting the other schools, we could be in the 12 Championship game for indefinite years!! I believe that the ORDER HAS BEEN RESTORED! GBR
