  1. Ahhh...my appologies. A common noob mistake when you can't read regulars true intentions.
  2. You're kidding, right? We are licky to still be in the top 25! We have shown improvement and we killed our first two opponents, but look who they were. We really have yet to beat a quality team and earn our ranking, IMHO.
  3. Um..there were no interceptions of any ZT pass, and the only TD we got was through a passing series. Give our QB and receivers a little cred. In fact, one could argue that all 10 points we scored came from the pass since the fake punt / pass put us in position to kick the first field goal. I don't know what the deal was with BC, but maybe he thought we couldn't beat a west coast team at therir own game, and tried to throw them off balance with a running attack.
  4. Fact remains - they gave up 15 points in the final 7 minutes. It was their turn to get burned by turnovers - if they want to place blame, place it on the offense, the defence, and the coaches for not being able to preserved a 2 touchdown lead with less than 1/2 a quarter to go. Officiating was poor for both teams the entire game. That's life in the world of football.
  5. You are so on the money BigRed Iowan, I live in Michigan and mose UM fans still Whine about the coaches giving Tom Osborn a retirement gift in 1997 with the split championship. Some UM fans even live in denial to the point of forgeting facts - I got into a major "debate" with my wife's boss at her 2004 Christmas party because she insisted that UM never split a championship, and if they did, it certainly was not with NU. I found a reference to prove my case and sent it to her the following Monday and all she had to say in reply was "That's too funny". Don't worry, my wife didn't get fired. As for this years issue, the local news programs show the final play and point out that there should have been a penalty called. I can't understand how they can not see their own guys doing the same thing...
  6. Local news here in Detroit Michigan also showed the last play, over and over and made reference to the fact that NU players on the field should have resulted in a penalty. No one bothers to point out that UM players also were on the field before the last tackle - at least ESPN did mention that it would have been off-set penalties if they called it. I just keep pointing out to the whiners that they should have played better to protect an 11 point lead in the last 7 minutes of the game - nuff said!
  7. Sorry DaveH, but Michigan is in the Big 10, not the Big 12. Anyway I live in Michigan but went to Nebraska and consider myself a Husker trapped behind enemy lines. A lot of UM fans are taking the loss in stride and being classy about it. Others have the attitude as expressed in this e-mail excerpt from my wife about one of her coworkers comments: "Oh, and she says that Michigan did NOT go on the field before the final play was completed. She said that the officials helped Neb. win. WHATEVER!" I'll be hearing this for the next 8 years, just like the crying over the 1997 shared championship title
  8. Believe me, we Huskers have been gorging ourselves on humble pie since Osborne left. Take solace in knowing that Henne played awsome, and has come a LONG way since UM was defeated by Notre Dame (I live in Michigan and a friend gave me tickets to the Big House for that game). He was so much more poised, confident and effective yesterday than he has been most of the season. College football is an emotion-packed contest full of surprises and unexpected momentum changes. If not but for a few breaks and some luck, it could have easily gone the other way. Good game Blue.
  9. Believe me...as a Husker living in Michigan, I will hear PLENTY about what the Wolverine fans are thinking tomorrow at work. It won't diminish my gleefull joy in talking some smack though ;-)
  10. I'm a Husker trapped behind enemy lines (in Michigan). I'm STILL taking crap for the 1997 split championship decision and was really hoping we'd trounce the Wolverines to end the debate - but a clean win would have sufficed. Unfortunately, the lousy officiating will give my co-workers an opportunity to contest the outcome, and I'll have to listen to diatribes about how the Huskers stole the game with the help of the officials, probably for another 8-9 years. Oh well, still looking forward to wearing my Husker jersey to work tomorrow to "rub some salt." Good game Huskers!
