  1. Maybe you aren’t aware but there has been a surge of knife attacks in the uk and calls to ban knives of certain sizes London saw more murders than nyc and it’s really tough to buy handguns in any part of uk https://www.google.com/amp/s/nypost.com/2018/07/19/knife-attacks-and-murders-spike-in-the-uk/amp/
  2. If you really think many democrats and their willing accomplices in the media do not have an end game goal of banning all guns then I guess you forgot about how our country was lied to to get something passed just recently: you can keep your plan and your doctor average family costs will go down about $2500 we all know it’s the baby steps they think they can get to launch their end game heck pelosi and Schumer voted for money for the wall and changed their minds now that political winds might be shifting a bit btw the bill of rights was put in place to protect us all from the tyranny of the majority , it’s part of the absolute beauty of our system of governance
  3. Where do you draw the line? over 31,000 car crash deaths do you think there is value in lessening the number of car crash deaths in the us? Are you in favor of banning cars? is there anything in our bill of rights that spells out our right to autos ? May have to amend our bill of rights if gun bans are put in place How about knives ? Would you think there is value in lessening the number of deaths caused by knives ?
  4. If the goal is to reduce gun violence why has all the focus been on banning certain types of long guns long guns were responsible for 403 deaths or about 1 percent: https://www.statista.com/statistics/195325/murder-victims-in-the-us-by-weapon-used/ it isnt tough to figure out ban the guns that are politically easiest to get banned, regardless of the neglidgeable impact use that as a starting point to ban all guns that is the end game About half of all Democrats want to ban all guns in the hands of private citizens https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/survey-majority-of-democrats-want-to-ban-semi-automatics-half-want-to-ban-all-guns handguns cause the most deaths by far, why not go after them first? Not many guys hunting with hand guns
  5. Ok so the weapons that most want to ban are assault style weapons correct? According to the leftist Huffington post assault style weapons were responsible for less than 1 percent of gun injuries https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_5763109de4b015db1bc8c123/amp
  6. Both sides overstate their positions to try and make their point- both sides the us had about 11,000 gun deaths due to one person shooting another yes 11,000 people in a population of 330,000,000 is too many however the number isn’t 39,000 either like these numbers suggest suicides make up a good portion of those numbers in many wealthy countries suicides happen by gun at rates much higher than one could imagine and other methods https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violence_in_the_United_States
  7. Interesting article here an armed populace need not be able to defeat its oppresors, but just raise the cost of doing so enough to deter aggression it cites examples like the Turks massacre of 2,000,000 Armenians in the early 1900s and the slaughter of 2,000,000 Cambodians by the Khmer Rouge immediately following gun confiscation programs were enforced there are many more examples https://openscholarship.wustl.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1582&context=law_lawreview
  8. It is arrogant to think that history couldn’t somehow repeat itself again right here in the us all of the major genocides were preceded by confiscating the weapons of the targeted populace While there may be debate on the actual numbers it’s fairly safe to say genocide against 50-100 million people was preceded by very effective confiscation of the murdered groups weapons
  9. As it seems the us military has struggled to defeat even very small even tiny “armies” armed primarily with small arms iraq syria Afghanistan vietnam there are over 300,000,000 guns and over 300,000,000 people in the us I’m guessing that might be a bit of a deterrent since the us military had a tough time defeating “armies “ of 10,000-200,000 men
  10. Never said they were stupid said they knew very little about history, civics, constitution, economics etc Do you really think conservatives had much at all to do with having the extremely liberal teachers union and their corresponding big government loving beurocracies deemphasizing or dropping teaching American history, the holocaust, the constitution, economics, communism and the brutal mass killings of their own populations ? do you really think their world view had nothing to do with the curriculums that are taught now and how they are taught?? about 20 percent of 8 graders are proficient in history and civics https://www.nationsreportcard.gov/hgc_2014/ I know I never signed off on not teaching our kids this stuff or relegating it to the i don’t care about it list Interesting article on how liberals have ruined our education system and why they don’t teach anything about the negatives of communism https://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/liberal-bias-starts-long-before-college/
  11. I own guns but do not conceal carry I have a few friends who do no Problem with those who choose not to however I live on an acreage near a big city and neighbors aren’t near so while I feel pretty safe I do want home protection more importantly I’m very aware of world history where countless governments disarmed their populace and then harmed those they disarmed not willing to put myself in that position letting history repeat itself
  12. I said it was from a very pro socialist site i did it to show how high taxation is 45 percent on 43 k in income plus a 25 percent sales tax that isn’t a model where only the rich get soaked for high taxes unless anyone thinks 43 k is a lot in annual income
  13. Go ahead post them if you think millenials know more about our nations history, the constitution or ecomics than baby boomers post away
  14. Ok we can definitely agree vietnam and Iraq shouldn’t have happened I know many many conservatives like myself that agree with that ive studied both conflicts in depth johnson and bush were terrible presidents our neighbor down the street 7 houses was captured and killed in captivity I took a very early interest in that what does that have to do with socialism being proclaimed the answer or that millenials know little of our nations history,, constitution or economics ? God putting trump in office office has little to do with them thinking trump is some kind of Christian leader it comes from a verse that talks about God being in charge of everything trump is no Christian and that sliver of people duped into thinking he is are 100 percent wRong yes he backs religious freedom but he should have been kept at arms length
  15. High immigration rates means people want to live here
  16. Ok let me explain this in simple terms people choose to live where they feel offers them the best choice for a happy and prosperous life if a country sucks most people will probably choose not to go there on the other hand if a country is great people want to go there hence the term voting with your feet not many people standing in line or dying trying to get into Cuba or Venezuela these days
  17. Top destination in the world people vote with their feet weve have won that election in an ultra landslide for what 100 years ?
  18. Hmmm millions of immigrants into the us over the last 100 years would beg to differ so would the thousands that have died trying to get here biggest destination for immigrants in the world
  19. You didn’t read the article venezuela failed because their socialist politicians got into a bidding war to distribute more and more free stuff businesses were nationalized the educated and successful left my friend is east indian his parents had several businesses in Venezuela and fled after the socialists came to power one of their businesses was a bus company - overnight he had no power his workers were now the owners and bossing him around They went from being a country that had been very wealthy over the last 40 years to one mired in poverty And decay
  20. If you think that all the socialists in the us want I s universal health care God help us if that lie is being accepted by willing and able voters socialism simply does not work in large multicultural societies and by many metrics doesn’t in much tinier homogenous ones either nationalizing and taking the profit out of industry and substituting state or collective planning is socialism and that’s what killed Venezuela and it’s oil industry
  21. I guess no one wants to talk about our neighbor to the south Venezuela where the socialists got elected and kept in power by outbidding each other on promising more and more benefits to the point the upper and now middle class is leaving due to economic collapse, starvation and now totalitarianism doesnt that kinda sound like where the Dems are now with their freee everything socialist candidates? When you think about it, pretty scary stuff https://www.google.com/amp/s/thehill.com/opinion/international/381791-fading-democracy-in-venezuela-demonstrates-failure-of-socialism%3famp not sure we really want to follow that path most of us anyways
  22. Thanks for the reply here from a very pro socialist Dane: income tax rates for a 43k per year worker is 45 percent and there is a 25 percent sales tax has the us sunk to this level of government control into our every day lives ? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.usnews.com/news/best-countries/articles/2016-01-20/why-danes-happily-pay-high-rates-of-taxes%3fcontext=amp over the last 50 years Danes suicide rates are twice ours- yes over last 10 years close to the same as ours yes we have a much lower adult anti depressant use than the danes it if what you say is true that it is all generic and that Danes are mostly white and the us is not a homogenous very very tiny country is much different than a huge multicultural one wouldn’t you agree do you really think that a tiny homogenous country what they do would be successful in a massive multicultural country where very few of us per human nature are rowing the communal boat in the same direction? how do you explain the collapse of socialist Venezuela who went from being very rich under capitalism to starvation and ruin under socialism
  23. You may want to do more research suicide rate is twice as high as the capitalist usa 1 in 9 adults are on prescription anti depressants not sure that equates to happiest country in the world tax ax rates of 68 percent on 80k incomes I’m not sure informed voters want to sign up for that nevermind $10 per gallon gas and a bunch of other nonsense
  24. I’m not saying millenials are bad people however it has been my experience and a lot of data out there that suggests they know little of history, economics or our constitution it’s not entirely their fault but it is true just the same like David Hogg said - they know a lot more than everyone else when it comes to programming and using phones or computers But history- not at all doesnt make them bad people just very poorly equipped to solve our nations ills
  25. It’s a real shame people don’t know more about Denmark’s socialism where anyone making over 80k has a 68 percent tax rate danes have extremely high rates of debt and their suicide rates are twice the rate of ours it is also a tiny nation without a huge percentage of immigrants and a tiny defense budget not apples to apples and not the utopia most people think it is https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2015/oct/23/viral-image/internet-graphic-says-suicide-rate-much-higher-den/
