It was naming all those who died at or as a result of the insurrection and having a moment of silence in their honor. There is zero excuse for the disrespect they showed, and by not being there their admission of guilt was palpable.

Wasn’t it just rioters who died as a result of the riot?  I know one cop had a stroke and died which isn’t related but I didn’t think any others did.

Democrats care more about illegal immigrants than they do unborn babies.

Liberals will side with criminals over police officers.

    Democratic policies are anti-business.

Teachers and journalists only want to talk about what's wrong with America.

Urban/Suburban America looks down its nose at the flyover states.

If you don't approve of the liberal social agenda, you will get canceled or doxed.

It's a messaging battle and Democrats need to do a better job of answering these. Because they're not all crazy.

You bring up some good talking points that are actually being discussed amongst rural voters.  Not the Mumbai jumbo the others are saying.

I know you believe that and I appreciate the fact that you don't want her to be.

The fact is though, she has major support from voters, donors and the leaders of the party.  That tells a different story than what you hope for.

Hopefully Republicans like you grow in number.  But, I'm not seeing it at this time.

How many tens of millions of Republican voters are there and the article says she got donations from 100,000.   I will readily admit there are more than 100,000 Republican crackpots which doesn’t mean much.  I mean Louis Farrakhan gets way more donations than that and we aren’t calling him a leader of the Dems.

This conversation between you two has been interesting. But I tend to agree with Knapplc on this. White rural voters voting against their own interests (they tend to reject spending pushed by Democrats that would help their communities) is one of the most well documented aspects of Political Science.

Thomas Frank wrote about this phenomenon in the early 2000s when he wrote "What's the Matter with Kansas?" He found that rural voters are much more inclined to be persuaded by culture war issues, even when it comes at their own self destruction.

The plight of the white rural voter is mostly caused by irreversible economics. There aren't opportunities for growth to lead to a larger tax base. They also vote in ways that ensure their demise. The white rural voter is already a tax liability - rural counties already get more than they pay. In order to win them over, Democrats would have to endulge their culture war fantasies more than Republicans, I'm not sure that's good for the country if they do.

Thomas Frank, a Missouri Democrat who lived in the richest neighborhood in KC, then leaves to further education in VA and Chicago who then writes a book about what’s wrong with Kansas????  I thought life couldn’t get any funnier.

So true...I think Millard and Elkhorn will do all they can to not go remote.

Private schools will hold out as long as they can

Papio will go remote fast, I think.

The smaller districts just outside of Omaha will stay open if possible.

I got to check this but I think KS implemented a state law that says they can’t go remote for more than a small period of time or it doesn’t count towards school days.

I would look for the US to be done with it in late January.  Anyone taking bets?  I'm so overdue for a correct pandemic prediction.

Some projection data I’ve been seeing seems to be a week or two later than what your predicting. Sometime First two weeks of February.   Sharp downturn then levels off for a month or so mid way down then another sharp downturn early April.  Assuming no other variants that take over Omicron.
But I like your guess better!!

If Rachel Maddow was one of Joe Biden's closest advisors while maintaining her prime time news & opinion show, I would find it troubling.

Check out the stories about Lawrence O on MSNBC and his closeness to Ron Klain/Joe Biden

You're going to have to bring me up to speed on this one - the only active recent case I know about Maddow is the one vs OAN that she actually won.  I have no knowledge of her communicating with any presidential officials during or leading up to an armed insurrection.

She didn’t communicate with Trump.  Her show was sued however and defense testimony provided said her show was opinion and should not be relied upon as stating facts or truth.

Listen to the last part of the video.

Ya I did now twice and Rand specifically says newborns (they aren’t eligible) and “the kids” which I would take to mean under 12 but take the true meaning and say under 18.   The vaccination rate for under twelve is like 15-20% so the majority of parents including me are on the wait and see on the vaccine for Covid.

He nowhere mentioned we shouldn’t push to get unvaccinated adults who haven’t had Covid to get vaccinated.  Pretty important distinction you gloss over for some reason.

That's right. We should never talk about January 6th again.  Sweep it under the rug.  Any Republican that raises questions should be shunned from the party.

Do what you like, but I never said that.   Most people can chew gum and walk at the same time.  Liz couldn’t.  She could only do one of them.

And to be fair - they weren't using it as a way to avoid sharing information on their own involvement in an armed insurrection.

The others have said it when protecting sources, or when they were being spied on by our own or other govenerments.

No not really.  Just follow the court case with Rachel Maddow.  It’s no different across the three.

I think its particularly interesting that Hannity is now trying to lean into the "press is protected" angle.  After his own network said "nobody actually believes are opinion anchors tell the truth"

To be fair, all three cable networks have said that.

I certainly don’t agree with what Navarro is saying in that clip, but why doesn’t the disgraced LP link to the entire interview?  It was a good question by the host and would like to hear the answer.

    Hmmm....

He’s saying pretty much the same thing @knapplcsaid about Omicron when it first came to light that it wasn’t as serious as Delta.  He also said people will still die from this and we still need to protect the vulnerable.  Sooo:dunno
