Wandale weighs about 20lbs more than Devonta Smith. FWIW.

And ESPN lists Wandale at 5'10". I did not compare the two receiver, I was responding to the comment we should only pursue WRs who are 6'0" or taller and 200lb+ frames.

wandale is 5'9'' 175 pounds. He is small. Smith is biggeer, faster, better, much larger catch radius and I can keep going on. We need bigger bodied WRs, and they are recruiting them, that have a bigger catch radius, with good speed, that can win the catches down the field.

You have already seen the results of the dink and dunk passes to a shiffty short WR does for the win column. It doesn't win you games.

  2. Wandale's dad was trying to get him pulled out of Nebraska last year too. He never wanted him here and was always tweet, liking stupid negative s#!t on Twitter about Nebraska. The "I want to run a speific route for the NFL" is dumb too. You don't need to run a specific route or two in college for the NFL to know what you can do and can't do.

Wouldn't shock me if Wandale has a similar path as JD - think the grass is greener elsewhere and ends up on not having the type of season that he wanted that he would have had by staying pat and going out and working.

He did say 50/50 use in offense and being home.

And with sipple saying today mills probaly isn't coming back, next year is going to hurt.

Nah, they are active in bringing in a transfer.

I hate to break it to you... but Devonta Smith is barely over 6'0" and much lighter than 200lbs.

He's okay at playing wide receiver.

He is taller, faster, and weighs more than Wandale. Much larger catch radius.

Just give me some speed and ball skills.  I doubt many of the receivers playing tonight break 200lbs.  But, I would take another Quincy Enunwa any day.

Frost has been recruiting "Quincy" types the last class and current class. Even the new incoming transfer is 6'3''. There are 4 incoming WR's and all are 6'2'' or taller.

Wan'Dale would eat if we had a couple good tall WR. This is a terrible take and you should take a break from the internet.

Nah, you are the one with the bad take. There is a reason Wandale never brook one to the house when using top end speed. He was mostly good for short catches in space. that is NEVER going to beat Ohio state. The play that Betts had against Penn state is the electric athletic ability that can win you games against Ohio State. Look back at every win against PSU and OSU while Nebraska has been in the Big Ten....zero Wandale types were on the WR unit playing in those games.

People overrate Wandale. He is good but not a special talent. Betts is a special talent.

  7. I honestly don't ever want to see a "Wandale" brought in by Frost ever again. Just look at the natty game tonight. Zero 5'8 175 players on that field. I want WR's that are close to 6'0'' or taller and have 200+ pound frames....and fast. More Betts, fewer Wandales.

    1: Yes.

2; not following any recent Nebraska people

3: Never followed back after the staff followed him

4: Not seeing this anywhere for staff following him

    5: See 4

    6: See 4

    7 See 4

    8: See 4

8: don't think they will push here

9: He followed some Nebraska staff after Nebraska staff followed him

  9. Stepp followed the new WR commit/transfer on twitter. That is a positive sign. If wasn't interested he wouldn't care. He is the one I am referring to. get him and the offense, and the hawaii kid, is looking a hell of a lot better than it was at this time a year ago.

Didn’t know, but not surprising.  He’s a great athlete.

Nebraska wasn't the only school he said no to. Iowa, Kansas State, Iowa state. For whatever reason he chose to stay with North Dakota State.

  11.

Real leadership, not having daddy tell someone they should run routes that the school transferring to doesn't even use those routes. "Want to know what I can do with the ball in space." lol. Kid is small. He will regret any scheme that makes him go across the middle.

@CAHusker I posted this earlier in the thread, but from the rumors I've seen posted online, it sounds like it's his dad and others from back home that are pushing him toward transferring. That would be similar to what happened back when we were recruiting him - he briefly committed to Kentucky (home state team) when we thought we were safe with him, but then he flipped back to us just a little while later and said he'd listened to those back home who wanted him to stay in state instead of just doing what he thought was best for himself.

Yep. Read that on the message board last night. His dad tried to pry him away from Nebraska after the 2019/20 season too. Poor kid. I bet the people put down some unfriendly ultimatum to get him to Kentucky.

Your freekn s#!tting me, this is really going to happen?  Are we sure on this, or are we just guessing and nobody really knows?

I think it is  dumb move on his part. JD ended up sitting on the bench. I bet he ends up regretting it in the end.

And we're apparently competing with... Oregon State.

So what. He has legit production in college games. Would be the best incoming transfer, on paper, at a skill spot in such a long time that I couldn't even name the last incoming transfer with this level of production in the college game.

I am not sure why that question is so specific to a certain situation, but among the RB, WR, and TE positions Wandale was by far the leading player with yards from scrimmage.  I am sure those yards led to a lot of first downs for the offense.

7 players had more yards per catch than Wandale did from the LOS for the 2020 season....TE's, RB's, and WR's. Three players had more yards per rush than Wandale.

Wandale wasn't bad, he is a good player, but at the same time people are making him out to be a super star when he isn't.

I"m willing to put money on the table that Nixon will have a better career than Wandale has had so far.

You realize it’s not a one or the other, right? You can have a smaller guy whose good in space who you run bubble screens and jet sweeps with AND a big body guy you involve with the vertical passing game.

Go look at the starting lineups at WR for the last 10 national championship teams. That will tell you the story.
