Nice bookend unsportsmanlike conduct penalties by Tanner. He had one in the Illinois game to open the season that led to their first TD. Now he gives Iowa a free 15 yards to set up their first score.

JFC. - NU has a 5 point lead and 3 possessions to extend it, including 2 free throws. Fails each time. TSU hits a 3 and it’s back to a 2 point game. This team is going to get annihilated again any legit team they play.

He’s going to have to show a lot more than he did tonight - in his first game against a legit team - if plans to be a one and done. And in another chapter in the “Only at Nebraska” book of sports ineptitude, he may be one of the few one and done guys that comes out of a losing team. Most of those guys take their team to the NCAA tournament. Nebraska is not sniffing the NCAA’s this year.

Not sure what the set up is, but the punch line is NU Hoops. Except on football Saturdays.

I know you are tempted to say to yourself: “it’s still early, there’s a lot of season left.” Any scenario in which Nebraska had a good basketball season required them to be 3 - 0 after the first three games. Especially with those three games at home. Instead they are 1-2. You don’t want to admit it, but this season is already a lost cause. Hoiberg’s team continues to be the laughingstock of college basketball.
