  1. There’s no way there wasn’t holding on that play.
  2. I’m not sure yet that Simms has gotten to the point that I consider anything really safe.
  3. Damn, that just can’t happen. Those TO’s are too valuable.
  4. Man, like the result. Still do t like the call.
  5. I like Kemp back there. Feel safe, like when Westerkamp was deep.
  6. You HAVE to adjust to that ball. Come back and it’s a catch or PI.
  7. I’ve never wanted anything so much as a TCU blowout Saturday (excerpt for win tonight). The Deon/CU pumping is nauseating.
  8. It’s a good thing, because it sure wasn’t a block. Cochran got embarrassed on that play.
  9. He’s gone. They’ll toss him. And they should. Stupid!!
  10. Didn’t think college had an “in the grasp” rule. That was a quick whistle.
  11. Sure would like to see roll Simms out with and run pass option. We can’t hold a pocket for him and it really puts the defense in a tough spot deciding to come up on him or drop back.
  12. I think the S&C did a big disservice to Nelson. He is/was definitely more athletic than what someone earlier said. He was class b heavyweight wrestling champion his junior year and likely would have repeated his senior year if he hadn’t enrolled early. He moved well enough to play in the offensive backfield in high school. Not fast by any means, but adequate. It seems the extreme powerlifting/body building philosophy at the expense of speed and agility was really detrimental to him. He seemed to just use the brute force method as opposed to any kind of attempt to get off and around people. I always thought with a little bit of work to get some of that mobility back he might have been able to play at ILB.
  13. Likely some donation money comes in from the family as well. Might be part of the reason for the offer as well. I think he only played one year at SB. Was up the road at Mitchell previously, C2 school I believe. I would think he would have some OL fundamentals, coach at Mitchell played OL at Doane. Hard to believe that size considering how small the family is.
  14. He was also an outstanding wrestler in high school. I believe he won the Class B heavyweight title as a junior. And not the stereotypical heavyweights who lean on each other for most of the match. He also played running back in high school. I wonder if maybe he got a little too big and lost some of the mobility. Maybe at 220 he could have played some inside linebacker. Who knows. I do know he’s a diehard Husker. I would be surprise to see him leave, Bur I guess you never know. I just wish someone would have taught him to get off a block.
  15. Even though you’re right that there isn’t a direct correlation, I would really question the legitimacy of that 4.28 if his PR is 10.5 in the 100m. That would be pretty extreme case of someone not being able to maintain through the last 60. But who knows. I hope Palmer does post numbers good enough to get him drafted. It will be interesting to see what he clocks at the combine.
  16. Kind of similar to basketball. Guys going from college to NBA get a little shorter and verticals aren’t quite as high
  17. could happen. But I’m guessing his combine numbers come in closer to 5’11” and low to mid 4.4’s. Could be way wrong but watching him he looks a lot more in that neighborhood. No way he’s 4.3.
  18. I wonder (doubt) if there was ever any truth to that rumor. Many Husker fans wanted him as HC, but looking at it objectively, would a P5 school really consider him a viable option at this point. Nine games as an interim head coach. Just think if Albert’s announced our next coach as a guy with his same credentials.
  19. We as fans tend to overestimate our guys appeal to the NFL. They are big on the “numbers”, size, speed, hand size, etc. He’s not special in any of those areas, And he’s not one of those guys who is considered a great route runner or a guy who catches everything. I understand it’s the right time for him to try, but he’s far from a sure thing to make it at the next level.
  20. And they don’t like hybrid linebacker/ safeties who don’t run 4.5.
  21. That’s bad. I figured they’d probably be giving away tickets next year in Boulder. Now they’ll harder to get. I thought maybe there would finally be something good about living in this state.
