    He absolutely tried to extend

    For clarity.

The last player tried to extend the ball itself over the goal line and not just his body which is why I said...

he didn't try to extend it over the goal line like the last player we talked about

"It" being the ball. I should have been more specific.

They won(Chiefs).  You saw what happened to the Ravens not running the ball.  Limited by not doing what got them there in the first place.  It helped by penalties not being called and the Ravens hurting themselves with poor discipline(personal foul) penalties.

During the regular season Lamar Jackson threw 457 times this season for 3678 yards. Tyler Huntley threw another 37 times for 203 yards. Jackson and Huntley collectively threw 27 TD passes.

The Ravens ran the ball 541 times for 2661 yards and 26 TDs.

494 pass attempts and 541 run plays, that's a pretty balanced offense and to say that the run is what got them to the game today ignores their success in the passing game. The Ravens averaged 2.76 more pass plays than running plays per regular season game.

@Hilltop I love the energy you have but I disagree with you.  Maybe we need to  make some campfire chili and have some Busch Lights....  Get to the bottom of this.  With some garlic bread.  And tortilla chips with salsa.  And Guacamole.

We might never ever agree, but it'll be fun.

Someplace or Somewhere I think Jimmy H likes the sound of that too!

You had me until you mentioned guacamole.

I used to work in packing houses cutting hams and guacamole has the same color and consistency as the stuff inside abcesses. One time at Farmland a guy laid open a ham along the femur and the entire inside of the ham was abcessed and it gushed up onto his face. He promptly puked all over the line. The foreman shut down the line so it could be hosed down with scalding hot water. The poor slob that puked was over at a sink dry heaving while trying to wash his face off while the foreman was yelling at him for puking on the line.

    Gnarly times.

True but we all have seen what happened during the Superbowl with the Seahawks and Patriots where they didn't hand off the ball to Marshawn Lynch.

What's to say that handing the ball off to the running back would have given different results? Nothing.

It's like yesterday we all know the Bills should have punted the ball on 4th and 5 in their own territory but they decided to fake it and that almost put them down by 10.

Why should they have punted? They were trying to win and sometimes during that process you take calculated risks, sometimes those risks pan out and sometimes they don't.

If Hardman didn't reach for the end zone to try to score they would have scored on the next play or so.  I understand your trying to take the ball out of Mahomes hands but that was a dumb decision.

I'll never fault someone for the kind of effort Hardman put forth regardless of the outcome of said effort.

I only said struggles bc when he was at SC fans weren't happy with his play calling.  Now I know we were very limited with what he could call last season but now that we have people in place we should be a lot better baring any injuries to the offense. Yes it will take time to gel but please don't call a play to throw a pass on third and short just run the damn ball.

Every football team I've ever watched has at some point, thrown the ball on 3rd and short. Like it or not, throwing on 3rd down, even 3rd and short, is a thing.

A team can screw up on 3rd and short when running or passing the ball. Crap happens sometimes.

Yup. And the manner of the losses as well. Pretty difficult to feel much confidence after 4 one score conference losses largely from self inflicted wounds. Essentially a mirror image of what we’ve seen since 2018.

Those self inflicted wounds were largely commited by two players at the same position.

    He’s hot garbage

According to many fans, so was Charlie McBride. Until he wasn't.

There have been huge injury issues on our offense and our first two quarterbacks have not been able to avoid turnovers. If Satterfield is coaching them to fumble and throw interceptions I'd agree with you but I don't think he's doing that.

That is a really good list dude.

I would add, Rhule having a sit down with Satt and saying you have the Iowa game to show me something different with HOW you call plays in certain SITUATIONS or you’re gone.

    Satterfield isn't going anywhere.

Small chance the loss doesn’t make it to OT if Rhule or Satt played to win.

Definite losing culture that still turns the ball over at excessive rates. I’m not sure who that falls on but probably not White

Osborne played to win and people still criticize him for it.

I don't want Willy Korn at Nebraska. I don't want to prioritize the speed option & option variants. I want to bring in an actual QB who is good at actual QB things. You know, like reading a defense and throwing the ball? And honestly that player is probably Kaelin.

Let's start there. Willy Korn just gets you another Jeff Sims in here because you're prioritizing a track star QB who likely can't hit the broadside of Lancaster county in the passing game. Definitely tired of that stuff.

Husker football needs to let go of the option, IMO.

Never should have fired Solich and Pelini.

I strenuously disagree with this statement on both accounts.

Solich was handed a Maserati and turned it into a Chevy van. He also broke a 40ish year winning record streak which is unforgivable imo.

Pelini had multiple embarrassing blowout losses almost every year and practically dared the athletic department to fire him while talking crap about the fans and athletic department to the team. (Audio tapes anyone?)

Pretty cool we scratched out 5 W’s when we have lost 27 turnovers on the year. Just think what we could be when we get an actual QB that can throw and a receiver or 2 that can win in coverage.

unless coach is teaching the team to fumble and throw the ball to the other team…it ain’t his fault

I think that if we had even an average quarterback we'd be sitting pretty right now.

With the amount of disarray around Husker football the past decade, I'm genuinely curious if you wake up everyday just pissed off at the respect and longing fans have for the Pelini/solich days?  Find a hobby man, not worth it to be thinking about something so random

Not all fans respect/long for the Solich/Pelini days. People point to Pelini's record here but conveniently forget all of the embarrasing blowout losses he had.
