There are a couple days of games before the Huskers game that might help ease the anticipation. Can anyone suggest some that might be on TV that I should check out?

Yes, I know it's hard to believe, but I have found out what the final outcome of the USC/Nebraska game is going to be according to EA Sports NCAA 2007. I just finished up a game of USC vs. Nebraska at USC stadium...and the final score: Nebraska 28, USC 7 That's right folks, Nebraska will win. I know it's hard to believe that I can see the future...but once the game is played for real, you will see I am right. Taylor will go 8 for 16 with 1 touchdown, and 176 passing yards. Rushing yardage will only total 143 yards...with a few lengthy runs. The defense will be king of the game as we'll hold them to 194 total yards... -9 rushing yards, and 12 for 21 passing percentage. At halftime, it will be 21-7 with USC scoring a 72 yard passing touchdown right before the end of the first half. Just thought you'd like to know. Sorry for the spoiler though.

20 is fine by me. I say we make top 10 this year...at least! The first two games won't matter, but once we beat USC we'll move up considerably...probably to like 15th/16th or something. Then once we beat Iowa State (who I think will have a good year too) and Texas (who will probably have only lost to Oklahoma so far), we'll move up to the top 10. And we'll stay around that same spot because the teams we play after that won't matter too much (at least to the AP) Final ranking before bowl game....#9

I've been reading a lot of some Huskers who get a day off here and there because they've been banged up a few times in practice....giving them some time to heal. I'm all fine by that, gotta keep everyone healthy. But are these guys actually not coming to practice at all? Are they just staying home and watching TV....or are they still told they have to show up to practice and watch? I feel like they should at least be there to hear what's going on and what the coaches are saying. Then again, I've never played football on a team...so maybe the injured have other things they are doing during their down time. But when I played soccer, if we were injured we still showed up to each practice to see what's going on. It could be they are already doing this and the newspapers are just wording it weird: "Jackson missed Wednesday’s morning practice while he recovered from some bumps and bruises suffered in a scrimmage Tuesday."

How's the rest of the Pac 10 looking this year?...since people have mentioned USC getting down as low as 8-3. I mean, a loss to Nebraska, I can see that...but I haven't kept up with anyone else over the lately. You aren't planning on losing to Arkansas are you?

as much as I hate to admit it, I'll have nerves going into the USC game too. I have always said that USC is very much overrated (especially last year), but they aren't to be confused as a weak team by any means. Losing some of their big players...who knows how well they will play. I think it will come down to who wants it more. A team that has won almost every single game for the past 3 years, or a Big XII team who's ready to show the nation what they're made of...and who doesn't want to let their fans down. We'll want to be the first team to beat USC in 3 years of regular season play. I don't think the game is going to be a blowout, but it's going to be damn good. We may just see a nail biter...and god I hope we're the ones to prevail it. I, for one, know I'm 100% behind my team during that game. Let's just hope my neighbors aren't trying to go to bed early that Saturday night. GO BIG RED

I haven't been paying attention to KSU...but is it possible they're concentrating on starting Freeman and this is why the QBs are leaving? Prince did guarantee Freeman playing time which is why he changed his mind about Nebraska. The Blackshirts might actually get a chance to put that kid on the ground and show how college ball is played.

yes yes, sorority girls are nice...for many things besides game day tickets but I live in KC so it's not really easy for me to buy tickets off of people. We probably won't even be up in Lincoln until the day before the game (depending on the game time). I guess I'll just have to hope that I luck out and find a couple kids selling their tickets out front.

I'm planning on hitting up the KU game and then a friend of mine who is going asked me if I'd want to go to another game too this year....(not sure which one) how easy is it to get scalped student tickets? Last year we lucked out and scored some and got them validated for about 60 bucks total. I don't want to buy them in advance or get crappy overpriced seats from other scalpers...mainly because I prefer to sit in the student section where the real crazy, loud fans are. But of course I'm getting nervous whether or not I'll find tickets the day of the game...do I have anything to worry about? I'd hate to have to travel all the way up there to just sit in a bar in Lincoln.

I've never liked that catch phrase about offense winning games and defense winning championships. I think it's just a way of saying "points are nice, but don't forget about the guys who protect our endzone" The fact is, it's a team effort...period. Both lineups have their jobs to do no matter what game it is. Just because you're playing a championship, doesn't mean you are playing the best team you've played all year long, either (we know this is true with the BCS). A game is a game. That's like saying in a championship game all the blame for losing can go on the defenses shoulders. No, the offense still needs to get their ass in gear and score points. And vice versa. The Texas/USC game was great, but if defense wins championships...then USC's didn't fall in that category. But then again Texas' offense is the one that scored the final touchdown to clench the win.....so who really does win championships? Answer: the team that plays better It ain't rocket science guys

**bump** afterall all of that...ironically.... I work at a video production company who happened today to get the KU commercials in for us to make duplications for the TV stations. I dreaded every minute of it and almost refused to make them. I eventually did, but wrote some pro-Husker comments on the outside of the tapes for good luck GoBiGrEd

if Beck was complaining that he was 4th in line to be QB...then there was probably a reason he was 4th and it's no loss of skin off our back if he leaves. I hate to make it sound like the lower guys don't matter, but if they're gonna be a bitch about it I'd rather see a 4th string guy leave than someone like Taylor. THEN we'd have something to worry about. We'll be fine. It sucks about Bowman, but he'll bounce back next year. We'll still do well. Two players don't make the team, the team makes the team...and right now the team is practicing and needs all our support put behind them so that we go out and kick ass this year!!! We'll go undefeated this year!!!!!
