I'm not the only one that listens to The Zone huh? That was my submission that they read on the air. (The C in cmb23 is Chad). Then I submitted some really lame mottos they could buzz, since my poem wouldn't qualify.

I know it is "Mc-Q-en", but for creative purposes it works. Plus for half of last season everybody thought it was Mc-Key-on anyway! Hey...it's a good pump up piece...with a bit of 'reality' thrown in to keep some of the over-optimistic (yes, we all know they exist) in check. Believe me, I hope the ending is wrong too!!!
  3. 1) How long have you been a member of Husker Nation? -Well, I was a Husker football player for halloween when I was 3...and I'm 31 now. 2) What/who led you to The Nation? -Grandpa (Dad's dad) was a season ticket holder, complete with his red blazer for game days. My dad went to school there. I went there. So it's been since birth. 3) Where are you from originally? -Bellevue, NE 4) Where do you live now? -Glenwood, IA 5) Favorite Husker memory? -T.O.'s first championship defeating Miami in the Orange Bowl (was there with about a dozen guys from Schramm dorm) 6) Worst Husker memory? -Brook Berringer passing away 7) Number of home games attended? -Not sure of total count. At least 1 game per year from about 7 years old. Then 5 seasons (4 1/2 years of school) of student season tix. Then at least 1 game per year since. Probably 50-ish??? 8) Number of away games attended? -2 Iowa State games. 1 Orange Bowl. 1 Fiesta Bowl. 9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? -My 2nd year, Sheldon Jackson lived in our dorm and we all hung out quite a bit. As a Christmas present for my dad, I asked him to take the ball to practice before the Orange Bowl. Got it back complete with all offensive and defensive starters, T.O., Solich and some others. 10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) -Stadium: Anywhere I can get a seat and aren't surrounded by people who have a problem with standing and actually cheering for most of the game. -Bar: Icehouse -Friends House: Either my basement or for '06, my buddy's house now that he has a plasma and HD!!! 11) Favorite all time player? -Turner Gill or Tommie Frazier. 12) WCO or Option? -Whatever gets a victory...though seeing that option run to perfection is a sight. 13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne? -B.B. 14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? -Herbie 15) Favorite Husker play? -Tommie in the Fiesta bowl dragging every defender. -Crouch from Stuntz against OU. 16) Favorite game-day beverage? -Gotta be a budweiser broduct, with a Red Bull Vodka for a little wake-up. 17) How did you find HuskerBoard? (referral source) -Radio
  4. As the 2006 season is ready to begin, I thought I'd take a minute to pen a poetic summary of the upcoming year... ---------------------- ODE TO '06 In '06 the Huskers will be back indeed, The backfield is filled with power and speed. Marlon is lightning, he needs no Luck, Glenn is pure thunder, and strong as F--K. The receivers are fast - have hands of glue, Many a defender will lose their shoe. Swift, Nunn and Hardy will be hard to stop, But look out for Herrian, he'll be back on top. At Quarterback a true leader will take the snap, A quick play-action and he'll set the trap. Taylor is ready to lead the attack, Opposing coaches scramble to try and stop Zac. The Blackshirts are filled with true heart and grit, You can pass, you can run...they don't give a S--T. Bowman wasn't quite ready to be 'one and done', So he's back one more year to fuel the fun. Husker nation will have their eye on McKeon, The opposition, well, their pants they'll be peein'. Carriker will wreak havoc coming from the outside, Into the turf he'll pound a quarterback's pride. The Husker brain-trust is scheming away, Billy C. and Norvell calling each offensive play. Defensively the coaches are unwilling to break, Led by Coach Coz and the big man John Blake. Huskers take the North and defeat all their foes, No challenge from Jayhawks, Cyclones or Buffaloes. A Big 12 Championship will be just within grasp.... Until Mack Brown and the Longhorns kick our Big Red Ass!!! GO BIG RED!!!
