I feel good about winning, even though it was uglier than it should have been. We played an amped-up ISU team that played above their heads a bit. Our defense looked gassed - and they should be after playing two previously undefeated and ranked teams. And our D was on the field a lot longer than theirs. We still won - with our third-string QB who, incidentally, can be counted on to put the ball on the ground at least once per game. Niles Paul is nearly as much a liability as he is an asset. Not sure how much of a break we get with KU this week. They seem to be the spoilers of this conference. aTm will be no walk. Thankfully we have more wiggle room to win the North now. Playing Okie State again is not tantalizing in the least.

IIRC: When Musburger was at CBS, he called the 1986 OU-NU game (maybe it was 1987), and he kept getting the name of our punter wrong. He kept calling John Kroeker "Jeff Kroeker." Someone in the press box (a local spotter or press guy) had to correct him - twice. On the second time, he snapped back, "I don't like to be corrected."

Keith Jackson was the reason I'd watch games between teams I didn't give a whit about. That voice timbre, the phrasing, the colloquialisms... My favorite was "He hornswaggled him..." He called that awesome 1978 NU v. OU tilt when Ozburn got his first win over OU.

We need to win the North. Missouri has no conf losses; we have 1. I'm rooting for OU. If Mizzou loses to OU and then us, the North is ours to lose.
