  1. That's what I'm talking about...Bring the pressure
  2. Why put Barry Turner in zone coverage? He already has a sack today.
  3. Yep, fans down here in Stillwater love their orange Kool-Aid. I have been hearing about these tailbacks all year, and they are not the 3 best backs in the country . Hamilton lacks a top gear to break away for the long run. Toston is nowhere to be found. Savage has tremendous speed, but he has been a little dinged up this year. However, Savage is going to be a good back, but he isn't on that level yet. And I have no idea who dubbed OSU Tailback U. But I don't think any one of them is going to run for over 100 yards this weekend . And, on the flip side, I expect us to show who is the real Tailback U.
  4. I go to OSU , so I guess I will throw in my two cents. I think that OSU is getting better, but I don't believe that they can play with this team. On offense, they have a stable of one dimensional backs. Hamilton lacks speed. Toston doesn't run with a whole lot of power, and he is a freshman so his vision isn't really refined. Savage has been slowed by injuries, but he is probably the back of OSU's future. Bowman is a beast, and imo D'Juan is the most overrated of the Woods brothers. He occasionally comes through with a deep ball, but he routinely drops wide open, short completions to maintain drives. Reid has the concussion. He runs the option well, and is surprisingly accurate on the short routes. We have to maintain passing rushing lanes, or Reid can run for days. The OL's have not faced a pass rush like we are going to bring. If Reid doesn't play, I think Redshirt Freshman Zac Robinson will spend most of the day on his back. The defense is okay. The defensive front has been a disappointment. It was supposed to be the strength of the d this year, but the extremely young LBs have really surprised. However, last I heard, LB Chris Collins was hurt and may not play. He is the best LB and flies from sideline to sideline. The DB's are okay. QB-turned-S Donovan Woods gets beat deep almost as often as I see him bite on Vince Young's pump fake on Young's 70 yd TD run last year. I think that we will be able to run and pass at will. I think we will dominate from the kickoff. If Reid plays, Nebraska 35-OSU 17. Without Reid, 'skers 28- OSU 3, only because our defense shuts them down completely, and we pound the ball for 6 yds a pop all day and consume game clock. I am more concerned with who is going to win the Mizzou-OU game than I am with the Cowboys. Well, maybe not, but you get the point. Ya, my insight is very popular around Stillwater . On a side note, I intern in the athletic marketing dept here at OSU. I will be on the sidelines. I am planning on trying to make it to the tunnel as Neb runs onto the field. Because of my job I will have to wear orange, but I am considering wearing my t-shirt underneath and losing the Orange when the huskers come out. Oh, and I was going to wave my Blackshirts towel. It will probably get me fired.....but is it worth it?
  5. I am just very happy to be 5-1, with the only loss coming on the road to the #2/#3 team in the nation. Our offense is very highly ranked, and has great balance. The offensive line is coming around. I thouroughly enjoyed watching the OL's blowing the Cyclone's DL's off the line for most of the night. Also, all 4 of our backs have shown flashes of brilliance. Wilson and Lucky are complete WCO backs with tremendous speed. Glenn is stout. He runs through arm tackles with ease. And Jackson has very good vision and patience, and he runs with heart. Defensively, I think that we are coming along. I love seeing 2 LB's and a S walking up to the line of scrimmage before snaps. Directly connected, I also loved seeing Bret Meyer ending up on his back after most of his throws. That's the best way to protect our weak backfield. Personally, I would really like to see more appreciation for Stew Bradley. Our LB's have caught a lot of criticism, but I think these guys are playing many more snaps than were expected. The loss of Dillard and Octavien's situation have really hurt our depth. The playcalling looked much improved last night. As I said, it was very nice to see Zone Blitz back in the defensive game plan. I think our schemes will be very similar when we go to Manhattan. We will pressure Freeman...let him know he made a mistake that will haunt him for the next four years. And, we will run the ball against a seemingly tough KSU Defense. We have the two toughest opponents left (Texas, Missouri) in Lincoln. A&M could be a scare game, because we go to College Station, but I don't think A&M is that good. I watched Kansas outplay them for 3 quarters. Not impressed. I like where we are right now. We just need to keep getting better, starting with K State and taking each game individually. Go Big Red
