  1. Most of you just want to think about the National Titles, but you all should remember that both Bob and Tom were on the hot seat. Hell... Osborne almost left and went to Colorado. You people do realize that Bill's first real recruiting class is only going to be juniors next year right??? Was the fake punt a bad call, now that is didn't work yes, if it works everyone thinks it's an awesome call. Sometimes I do think we out think ourselves but how can anyone not say that we have improved since Callahan got here? And to the guy earlier that said we have become one dimensional???? ARE YOU SERIOUS, we average 175 on the ground and 253 through the air.... check your stats before your run your mouth! The option worked great, but please tell me what our old offense was?
  2. wE DESERVE BETTER. 5 KICKERS ON THE ROSTER AND NONE CAN KICK OVER 40 YARDS WITH WIND AT OUR BACK? OMG!!!! We have two place kickers, not 5 Captain Caps Lock. Look at todays Omaha World Heralds roster, shows 5 listed as K, or does that stand for Krappy? If you can't afford the paper send your fax number and I send it to ya K != PK and P A kicker isn't a kicker isn't a kicker. You really think Titchner or Such would really be able to kick a 40+ FG? Maybe on Friday Night Lights, but not in real life where we all live. *waits for "well, he couldn't do worse!!"* Oh and check out this button --> It's pretty sweet. Actually, kickers (P and PK) are really interchangable. In the NFL there are P that handle kickoff duties while the PK kicks the field goals. Then there are situations where you have a short to med. range PK and someone else who handles the long kicks. As seen today our PK acutally performed a P. First off this isn't the NFL. And the wind wasn't at our back... listen to the post game and the kick was into the wind. And I forgot that the Omaha World Herald is the Bible of Husker Football. Just because the Omaha World Herald says someone is a PK... doesn't mean that they can knock down a 49 yard field goal.
  3. I heard him on Big Sports 590 today... I think there is more to the story then he is letting on. He didn't bash the staff really bad like Andy Birkle did... but he did call a member of the coaching staff a liar, although he would not mention names. On a side note, the interview was horrible, I'd like to know how the kid ever passed a high school speech class... he was absolutly horrid on the radio.
  4. Is this a high school player or a coaching prospect??? Only Robert Smith I know of played for the Vikings and went to Ohio State.... believe he works for ESPN now?
  5. You also have to realize that some players don't fit the Nebraska system. A player like Phillip Bates is a good player, but he isn't really a west coast offense type QB. Under the old system he would have fit in, but not under the west coast.
  6. No offense, but I think you are giving talent in Nebraska too much credit. Compared to players in places like California, Florida, and Texas Nebraska players overall just don't stack up. I see a lot of football each year because I ref varsity football, and is Nebraska football horrible... no, but it also isn't up to the quality of putting out a lot of major DI talent. If you want Nebraska to compete at the national level year in and out it is highly unlikly that they can offer 5-6 scholarships to Nebraska players each year. Do you realize that right now we have 20 commits, can you image if 1/4 of those were Nebraska players???
  7. foote_21@hotmail.com ... I'll be there with another 4-5 people, just went and bought all the meat last night and picked up a portable propane grill.... can't wait!!! Even if it is snowing out
  8. Agreed... they are pretty weak. I went to the one at USC because it was included in my ticket package, as soon as we got done eating we went to the real tailgate... HUSKERBOARD STYLE
  9. I've got a room across the street from the stadium at the durry inn... think that's how it's spelled, anyways after the big win it'll be time to party it up in the parking lot....
  10. I am planning on bring a grill and doing burgers, brats and possibly some whole bbq chickens... girlfriend wants to do beer chicken but don't know if we'll go that far... hopefully they'll be opening sooner then they do for chiefs games.
  11. I got tickets in the lower level at hafltime of the AM game in row 14 in the endzone. I was down there a few years ago when Kansas State beat OU and there were quite a few other Husker fans there as well... I wasn't the only one thinking we'd make it I guess. Anyways I think it will also help out that Texas isn't exactly a lock yet... maybe will free up more tickets for the Husker Nation
  12. So at halftime I did a very bad thing... I bought Big 12 tickets off of ticketmaster. I got row 14 in the lower level and couldn't pass them up. I am very supersticious and felt like crap even more then usual because of first us sucking and buying the tickets... thanks god for The Big Z and BIG MO! Oh yeah... and thank Barry Turner and Zach Potter
  13. In my understanding, if A&M beats Texas next week we would play Oklahoma. I really have no idea who I'd rather play. Oklahoma without Peterson would be nice, but I want revenge against Texas and looks like McCoy might be out... would have been nice to give Texas there first loss in the big 12 instead of K-State though
  14. Anyway we can get a link to be able to save that file.
  15. Looking to buy some Big 12 Tickets... perferably I want to get some lower level ones, but I'll take anything, I just wanna be there to watch the Huskers beat the Longhorns! I know there are still some at ticketmaster but all they have are ones int he corner in the very top, but maybe just have to settle for those....
  16. With the players saying that... doesn't that mean that the coaches didn't have them mentally prepared and obviously some sort of adjustment needed to be made?
  17. I've always agreed Bill is the right guy and still do... it's just so hard see this team underachieve though. I am with you though, I will bleed husker red until my heart beats no more
  18. The Tech beating we took two years ago hurt, but today was something else. We are supposed to be getting over the hump and I can take loses to better teams like USC and Texas, but today was unexcusable. The coaches have great games plans leading into games, we get off to great starts in every game, but it's evident that we do not adjust. The players can only do so much and yes they did miss tackles and assignments, but the coaching staff must also put them in better positions to make players... I have always back Coz and the rest of the defense, but he is starting to lose my trust quickly this year. We are taking steps foward, but also there are too many steps back in the process.
  19. Elmer Fud (anyone else see that?) is an idiot and like another poster said... this is exactly why he is no longer coaching... daddy can only carry you so far, take away your last name and you are just another wash-up who wouldn't be on ABC
  20. Count me in for 2. The SC tailgate was awesome!!! Can't wait to hit it up Saturday morning, be leaving Wayne around 5:00 so hopefully not too tired to remember to grab the sausage and eggs on the way out.
  21. Man did Jim Rose seem like he couldn't wait to get in bed with Josh Freeman last night? "Back on to the field comes the amazing phenom". "We'd better start a petition to get this kid in the NFL after this year so we don't have to see him anymore". JIM ROSE YOU ANNOUCE FOOTBALL FOR THE NEBRASKA CORNHUSKERS!!! I can't stand Jim Rose and he makes comments like this everyweek but it just seemed worse this week. On top of it Freeman has lets see ZERO touchdowns and SIX!!! interceptions now, man I could probably be a phenom then in college football! Oh and did anyone else hear him say "And now the Huskers come out to the see of purple and the best student section in the big 12" What a fricken tool... I hope one of these days his he just stops talking because Adrian knocked his lights out during the broadcast. :asshat
  22. I think that is one of the great points of Callahan's offense is that it is very hard for opposing defense too come up with a scheme against us. I think that is why we have seen us play much better in the first halfs of games, is because it takes that long for opponents to figure us out and they adjust better in the second half. Statisticly wise it may have been better too throw last night, but when you can run the ball and keep their offense off the field why not do it... overall great game plan and great execution.... can't wait to see it again this week at KSU!
  23. All I heard this week was "well looks like another year like the last few" or "here comes the unraveling again" and "we're gonna get smoked this weekend". Does anyone else get tired of hearing this crap, and now that we beat ISU those same people are all excited about Husker football again. Come on people support the team. Is this still coming from Frank getting canned? I wish people could get over, but I know some people never will. Sure we didn't play great last week, but we won and that is all that matters. Kansas isn't the Kansas of old but guess what we still won. And we came back this week and beat a very good team on the road... and did you see that yes on the road! Maybe that will be one more thing people can't complain about... Callahan losing on the road. Our last 2 Big 12 Games... two wins NU - 51 Opponets - 17... nice stats huh? I don't care if we lose 12 games I'll be at every game because I bleed husker red... as for everyone getting back on the band wagon... how long will you be here, until the next close win?
  24. No offense but people were saying this after the Troy game. Suprisignly to most peopel the coaching staff must know what they are doing. The fumble reason is a non factor because Glenn had a huge fumble last week. Jackson and Glenn had great games yesterday and happy for them, but if next week Lucky or Wilson go off for a big game I am sure there will be reasons for it and not because someone did something wrong or didn't do something right, the coaches know what backs fit what type of game plans and Jackson on Glenn are the bruisers and we knew we could wear down there running defense quick with a bruising attack
