  1. I believe they will pull a random fan from the stands and use his watch.
  2. both scored in the last second of the game.
  3. Many are called...less actually answer...and even less actually do.
  4. absolutely. I will forward this to some of the people in my church as well.
  5. Yeah, I've seen those. The catch is that you have to buy bids...not sure how much it costs, but it does cost. Also, I think that when a bid is placed, more time is added to the auction. mm0
  6. Android rocks! I have a Nexus One, and love it.
  7. Marriage is awesome. Been married 16 years. Never easy, but always worth it. mm0
  8. I think reason and sanity is finally starting to set in for the American public. Polls are showing 60-70% support for Arizona law (that is a landslide in politics). Also, there was supposed to be a HUGE protest outside of the Staple Center in LA because of comments Phil Jackson made regarding the AZ law...15 people showed up...there was literally more media than protesters. mm0
  9. And how would you know the intended use? its not like this shirt was bought for a special occasion.
  10. You keep your hammer and sickle. It doesn't represent the America I know, where all speech is protected -- not just some cynical, neo-progressive, conformist view. Only on a Husker message board would I be accused of being a conformist! Cynical? Hell yeah, but a neo-progressive conformist? Come on, and seriously is it even possible to be progressive and a conformist at the same time? You might as well have thrown pinko and commie in there while you where at it.....oh wait you opened with the hammer and sickle reference, so I guess you already did. This whole argument is pretty ridiculous when you really get down to it. And those who are trying to make this a free speech issue are making a huge leap IMO. Why? Because this happened in a public H.S. where sure the students have the right to express themselves, but that doesn't mean they're immune from the consequences if doing so is deemed offensive or disruptive to the learning environment. They where given a chance to change their shirts, it was their refusal to do so that got them sent home. Obviously my opinion isn't a popular one, or one that you will ever agree with, and that's cool with me. But if you really believe that your views are any more american that mine, or that you have the right to question my patriotism because of them; well then quite frankly 'Sarge' you can kiss my all-american ass because "the country you know" is my country to. So why don't you LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT! and I say again... when there are consequences to wearing an American flag to a public place, there is something wrong!
  11. I'm so sick of hearing about how these kids must have been racist. This isn't a racism issue. It's so easy to pull the racism card, and most people will shy away from the argument because it's so politically correct. Well, I'm sorry, but this has nothing to do with racism. This has to do with teenagers being sent home because they dared to stand up and wear an American flag to school....oh the horror... And did any of you people screaming racism actually look into the situation and discover that at least one of the kids wearing the American flag had a father that was full blooded Mexican? We live in America, and I'll say it again, for these kids to be sent home because they were wearing the U.S. colors on their shirts is wrong.
  12. people love to say things like 'If it were a shirt with a swastika on it...', but the fact is, it wasn't. it was a shirt that depicted an american flag. We live in America. It is a national symbol. If people in America are incited to violence due to this flag, it's the problem of the idiots who don't like it. not the people wearing our national symbol.
  13. Your guaranty doesn't mean jack. Do some research on what actually happened. And I don't care what the reason was that they wore those shirts... last I checked, we had free speech rights in America.
  14. I live in So Cal, and in all fairness, most (read: all) people that I have spoken to here are just as pissed as everyone else. Even the School district (last I heard) did not support the actions of the principal and asst. principal of this school. With that being said, I am ticked, and will continue to watch this closely, and hope that someone (IMHO the asst pricipal) loses there job. mm0
  15. You'll need 2 .apk...one is located here...it is the 'clicker app'..I think it is for calibration. My .apk can be downloaded from here. It works fine on my Nexus, but I can't guarantee that it will work for anyone else. Also, I can't take 100% credit for this. It was created on the website liked above with a automatic script...I just put the colors and graphics together. Also...one last thing...I have tried to create a .png of the graphic on the space bar, with no luck...if someone could get me a picture similar, with a transparent back, I can put it in the theme. mm0
  16. I have a Nexus One. I am not sure if this will work on a different Android phone. Is is basically the high resolution version of the HTC keyboard...I can post the .apk if someone wants it, or go here to create your own custom skin for the keyboard. mm0
  17. Just put a custom skin on my Android phone...check it out...
  18. Can you explain this? probably a poor choice of words. What I was saying is that I can't prove to YOU that God exists. But I can provide evidence.
  19. I used to do mortgages...interest only is ok in the right situation...but what most lenders don't tell you is that when the interest only period is up, you have only the remainder of the loan period to pay off the mortgage...so in your case, it will only be 20 years. So the payments are re-amortized over the 20 years, resulting in a much higher payment than you might be expecting. Rates are low right now (assuming you have decent credit)...I would opt for a 30 year fixed if you plan on being in the house for a while. mm0 (P.S. this is just my 2 cents worth...obviously, you may have a reason to do the IO loan...)
  20. Congrats...you seem to be satisfied. I'm not even sure what the point in question was. I simply thought you were asking questions about faith, mine in particular. I wasn't aware that this was an argument to be won. I thought you said you honestly wanted to learn others view points. I guess knapplc was right about the intention of this thread.
  21. by the above definition, yes, they had faith. I would guess that they're faith was different than mine (in some ways), as they witnessed first hand the miracles of Jesus. But there was faith none the less. They had faith that Jesus was in fact the Son of God. Probably not an easy thing to believe in their culture. Peter had faith to believe he could walk on water. It's one thing for the son of God to do it...something different when it was him. Peter and John had faith to heal the lame man outside the temple.
  22. Websters (for the verb form - which this discussion is based on): 2 a (1) : belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2) : belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1) : firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2) : complete trust just because there is no proof, doesn't mean that there is no evidence. mm0 - yep...back online.
  23. You're not supposed to have noticed that for another few posts. lol! Sorry...I was in a hurry...end of the work day for me, so I got a little ahead of the thread...I'll do better next time, I promise!
  24. OK, one more post... Very rarely do religious folks come by my house to preach. In my 6 years in the OC, once that I can recall. Every hotel that I stay at has cable channels that preach evolution as fact. I choose not to watch them. Events...if you feel someone is pushing something you don't want...walk away, or don't go in the first place. I find it funny that it's ok to come on a message board, and post this stuff, and anyone who is the least bit defensive is just told to stay out of the conversation, but those same people get all offended when someone even mentions religion around them.
  25. I'm not sure that I can describe to you how I know that it is God speaking to me. If you want to call it a feeling, sure...not quiet right, but close, I guess. Moving to SoCal was definitely something that God had me do. We moved out here to help start a church. By a lot of peoples standards, it is not a success...however, as I was reminded yesterday in service, lives have been changed. Drug addicts are no longer doing drugs. Marriages that were headed to divorce are stronger than ever 5 years later. Insecure people have a security in knowing God. This to ME is a success, and well worth the time and effort it has taken. As far as God being in control...again, I don't want to get too deep in theology here, but God knows the beginning and the end. So...does God know the choices you are going to make? yep. Does he control the choices you make. I don't think so. He created man with a free will. That is why it is so important to him that you have faith. He doesn't make you believe...but he wants you too. He has put out the evidence, it is up to you to see it. I'm going offline here in a bit. so probably will have to make this my last response for now. I will say this though. As much as you say that we should be open to opposing viewpoints, you should do the same. Just because you don't see any evidence, doesn't mean it's not there. If you honestly want to know the mechanics of hearing God's voice...spend a week or two seriously praying, and asking God to reveal himself to you. and Listen. It's not about trying to get God to DO something for you, it's about just spending time talking & listening. Somehow, I doubt you will do that, which again is your choice...but I can, without a doubt say that it is Gods will for you to spend time with him. But, like I said before...He won't make you.
