The '93 team DID win it all. The refs just didn't let them advertise it on the scoreboard. The refs gift wrapped that NC for Bowden and we still almost won it!

Alright you guys convinced me! The shifting isn't that bad, but I just hate seeing the bonehead penalties that tend to stem from it. Hopefully it will become less frustrating to watch as players become more familiar and comfortable with it. I'm all for anything that helps the team.

Good point about Patrick, Murtha seemed to have a lot of problems with it too hopefully he can get his head on straight this year he could be dominant! I don't remember what game it was, but I even remember one of the announcers pointing at that when the huskers shifted, it was a run play. Hopefully it's just my imagination, if it works once a game than I guess it's worth it.

I'm hoping that Holt, Brooks Jr, & Henry will really step it up this year, I'd like to see them push Nunn, Peterson & Swift for playing time. I'm sorry, but I just don't see Nunn, Peterson & Swift as serious threats offensively. With Keller's big time arm I would hate to see it wasted, obviously Purify will be the man, but he'll need help stretching the field.

That's all that really matters! Get the ball in the end zone and I could care less!

I don't know about you guys, but I'm not too fond of all the pre snap shifting our team does and it just seams to confuse everyone but the opposing defense. I also noticed that when they shifted about 90% of the time they would run the football, I'm sure opposing coaches noticed this as well. I was hoping that this would stop with the departure of Norvell or is it a BC thing. Please offer your thoughts or opinions.

Actually no. Defensively they return six starters, but most of the new guys played quite a bit last year including a corner named Alphonso Smith that will be awesome. Offensively they return eight, including Micah Andrews who didnt play last year because of injury but will be a huge factor this year. Plus the kicker and punter. 16/24 possible positions (counting p/k) means 67% of thier team returns......they wont be a shoadow, trust me. I'll give you Andrews,Smith and their potential all-american kicker, but believe it or not, they're a young football team this year, which means they may re-surface in 1-2 years, but they're not going to sneak up on anybody this year and I think they'd be lucky to qualify for a bowl game even in their weak conference. I'm not saying you're not right, it's just my opinion! I don't doubt they'll be ready to play, but we should dominate this football game and I'll be worried if we don't! Yes they are a team of young players............who played last year. They are one of the more under rated teams out there right now. Watch for them to win the ACC and go to a good bowl. We have contrasting views, it'll be an interesting season that's for sure. That's why I love college football! GBR

What's wrong with you guys, I don't need to ask permission for anything having to do with the huskers! What I say goes! Of course I'm kidding, my wife's pretty cool about my obsession with the huskers which is cool considering she's a California girl and really doesn't understand it. I get to fly a giant husker flag on my house from the beginning to the end of the season and pretty much get left alone every saturday!

Being that it's a road game, Wake Forest will be a decent measuring stick, but as a team Wake will be a shadow of last years team because they lost a lot of key players and it was a senior laden team. I will take more from the Nevada game because teams like that will come right after us! They're not afraid to throw the ball around and they always have decent talent at the skilled positions. Teams from their conference always seem to give the big boys all they can handle. Obviously the SC game will let us know where we stand, we'll definitely have played the tougher games opening up with Nevada and at Wake because SC opens with Idaho at home and then a bye week before they play us!

Thanks again, that's why I love this board. Any game on television they will show....about 40 fans fill a small bar....a f ew blocks from the port authority. If it's on PPV, they will ask every patron for a $10 cover and then anything over the price of the game will be donated.... It looks like ISU tickets that go on sale 8/1 are only for Cyclone club members and season ticket holders. Does anyone have any other info, or does that sound about right. That sounds right. I know ISU has added a bunch of crap and features to their ticket selling process this year, all in an effort to raise prices and prevent other fans from buying their allotments. It sucks, but I can't say it's not a smart move. It is a smart move, I'm surprised that any team sells away tickets to the general public!

I'm not familiar with Wake Forest football, but based on last years success and the fact that they have a small stadium ( It only seats about 31,500) it may be a tough ticket.

Not only is this guy a complete moron, but his daughter is as dumb as door knob. They host a morning show here in L.A. and if he is really interested in something boring, he needs to try listening to his own show! I assure you that everyone in L.A. isn't nearly as ignorant as this prick! GBR!

I've Been watching a lot of video on Woods and this kid looks unbelievable, not only is he a legit 4.35, but he has incredible form and technique. He has incredibly quick feet and catches everything thrown at him. This is a huge commit for us, I pray we get him signed.

I think that is a good problem!! Hopefully not too far off topic, but I loved the Brook Berringer memorial under your post. I hadn't seen it before and I got a little misty eyed. What a stud! (forever a husker). It's these sort of things that make huskerboard so great!

This is a great board! I haven't been a member that long and I don't get to spend nearly as much time as I'd like to here, but when I do have time I'm all over it. I'll definitely try to take advantage of everything the board has to offer!
