  1. My inability to use the quote thing right. I was trying to get the he was a stud quote and agree to that, but I missed. Sorry.
  2. I thought he challenged the catch on third and 29 along the sideline not the touchdown.
  3. I know he is not our regular center, but he has been playing how many games as the starter which also means the practice reps during that time? I didn't notice that problem in other games, it just stood out to me tonight that Taylor was always reaching.
  4. what is the order of picking after the ABC choices? TBS and then FSN or the other way around?
  5. only up a position or two in my opinion.
  6. I guess I am not convinced the D was better. It sure looked like the corners were very beatable. A position we need to recruit like crazy in my opinion.
  7. I would say the Blythe one was not a catch or at least not indisputable evidence to change the call.
  8. Where do we think the K-State game will be on TV?
  9. I think they are being truthful. Like the USC game where a few changes in plays and we have a chance, a few plays different and ISU is really close.
  10. Seems like taylor is constantly having to reach for the ball which throws the timing off.
  11. I feel like we are getting lucky in this game rather than playing really well. Some things are good, but I still feel like luck is on our side today so far.
  12. I still haven't found an updated coverage map for this week and it is already Wednesday. It is not like it is rocket science to figure out who is playing and where it will be seen. This is completely ridiculous.
  13. Wahusker how do you know? My map is still for the 9/30/06 games. Are you just assuming absed on last week's map? Thanks!
  14. We should continue to look forward that is true. I doubt almost anyone that posts here expected us to run the table and be playing for the NC. So, in that respect one loss is not a killer and we should hope the team continues to improve and get better and make for a good season. My concern is that with the coaches attitude are the players going to lose faith in them and not want to play as hard for them. I hope not and hope the kids continue to play well and do the best that they can throughoutt the season. I guess that in the long run is what bothers me the most about the game. I think the kids played their damedest and hardest and left everything out on the field, but that the coaches didn't give the team the same kind of effort.
  15. I am fine with shortening the game I think in concept that is great especially with the overall difference in talent. My problem is that in trying to shorten the game the coaches made it worse on the defense. You ended up with so many three and outs because of the play calling that the defense was right back on the field. As to Taylor having no time I pin that back on the play calling, and this is reminiscent of the "older days" when we would run twice not get a first down and the defense would pin their ears back and go after our quarterback. Here he ran so much on first and second and we weren't getting huge chunks of yardage that on third the defense would pin their ears back and come after Taylor. For gods sake once in awhile pass on first down after trying to establish the run and maybe Taylor would of had time. As it was it was run, run, try and pass when the defense is ready for it and coming full blast. Or barring that take a page from USC and run wide receiver screens which would be a pass but so quick that the defenders can't get to Taylor or try some shorter passes to Herian, or quick hit slants. All of these would take little time and at least provide some variety. I guess I am trying to say that I agree with shortening the game, but I think the coaches could have added some variety in the second quarter which would have kept the defense honest. As so many people say you need to be able to run to pass the ball, I think tonight showed that you at least need to have the threat of a pass if you are going to make the offense work. It was too one dimensional tonight, which I thought we were trying to get away from being, and we were not tonight.
  16. I think what I was most depressed about was the lack of a cohesive game plan. I took the running on first down all the time for awhile thinking that they were doing this to open up things for the receivers, but especially Herian. As the game kept going I kept getting angrier and angrier at the first down play calling because it was so predictable. Finally at almost the end of the third quarter they throw on two consecutive first downs and make something of it, but by that point it was too late. I feel like he let the players down with the play calling. Even with the pathetic play calling we are a play or two away from a real competitive game or a win. A bounce here or there and it is very different. Some examples (the hold on the long run early in the game, the potential interceptions of USC right after halftime, don't fumble the ball on our first play of the second half, Shanle makes the interception stopping the drive that leads to their last touchdown. I have mixed emotions on the game. I think the defense did ok, god knows it could have been worse, the offensive was hiding too much (everything should have been on the line for this game to really make a statement, I think the players played really hard but were let down by their coaches. However, we need to regroup and move forward. I think we should stay postive and we can still have a good season.
  17. Musburger is the worst announcer in the world and should have been retired years ago. Unfortunately, it seems that he is announcing all the sports in the world and whereever I turn he is talking and I have to switch the channel. I can't remember which year it was, but it was an OK - NE game in Lincoln ( I think early 90s) and it was a cold wet game and he just kept saying the stupidest things over and over about both teams and I wanted to throw the television out the window.
  18. As I said earlier, we can disagree, but I think we can agree that it was good that he didn't get injured and can now turn to preperation for USC.
  19. All you need is one rush, one strange play and there goes your season. To me it makes no difference if they were getting a good rush or not, it is just the fact that he was in there so long. People can disagree, and I am just glad nothing did happen to him.
  20. I am going to stick with more bad than good could have happened, and I am glad nothing did happen.
  21. these are all very good reasons, but then I look at Louisville losing their running back in the second half of a game that he shouldn't have been in, in my opinion. Things can happen and losing Taylor would be it for the season so that was my overall concern.
  22. Are you trying to say that because he only threw 23 passes that he needed to be in that long? If so, I can't disagree more. I think he should have been out at half time and give Joe the 3rd quarter and Beau the 4th.
