Read an interesting quote that because the D wasn't allowed to tackle Taylor in practice (only tag) that the D should improve the missed tackles as they get used to mobile quarterbacks and tackle better as the season goes along. I hope that is right, but only time will tell.

Then everyone else in he Big XII must not be playing football to have Nebraska have the only suspensions.

So is Nebraska the only team that has had a suspension for these "hits"? If that is true, makes me wonder what is happening in all the other games around the Big XII that we are the only suspensions? Guess they are playing flag football in all the other games.

That would be a cool next game after beating Oklahoma to close out the Big XII to then beat OSU as an enterance to the Big Ten. Sorry about offending some by posting this as I haven't seen it mentioned before. I guess I missed the million times it has been discussed before.

I will admit I have only followed the volleyball this year by the Lincoln Journal Star blogs and stories, but it seems that the team is not a team that is a killer team where the opposition walks in knowing they have no chance to win. It seems that every match is a struggle. For those of you that have more first-hand knowledge, is that a fair statement?

as I know this is looking ahead, and I am taking it one game at a time. But wouldn't it be really cool to leave the Big 12 playing Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship game as a battle of #1 versus #2?

I know it is extremely unlikely, but I was absolutely amazed with 3 timeouts and down by 2 scores that Missouri didn't take a shot at the endzone and then try and recover an onside kick and throw another hail mary. The clock looked like it was at 24 seconds when Missouri decided to pack it in and not even try. If I was a Missouri player I would be embarassed about my coaches skipping out on the chance to even try.

Definitely Beck no question. Skipped out of Lincoln, and is still not good where he is now.

I would agree not having Tommie on the list looks pretty bad. I think the first 9 make a lot of sense, but can't believe that Archie Griffin who won 2 Heismans is #21.

What I am looking forward to next year is a team that will play with heart and attitude. They will care about what they are doing on the field and how it effects the team. After last year, I look forward to that change. I think it will mean more wins, but you can't say it definitely will. Either way, it will be an improvement over this year.

The second article is just trying to start a fire. It isn't a salary, but a bonus that was most likely contained in his contract. The way it reads, he may have even gotten the money even if he wasn't coaching LSU depending upon how the contract read. It reminds me a little of the shares baseball players get for going to the World Series. In theory, the team can vote someone who was traded during the year a share because the team felt that player had made an important contribution to them making it into the World Series. This is just a bonus for helping LSU make the national championship game which is what Pelini did by coaching every game up to this game.

Wasn't Lucky the back that threw the block on the blitzer in the Wake Forest game that allowed Keller the time to throw the ball down the middle for a touchdown right before halftime? He may not have done it all the time but that one stands out to me. I will say though, that if it is an issue with him, that he better learn how to do it quickly or he would never see the field because Bo wouldn't play him if he wasn't going to block for the quarterback. That would be an interesting conversation to overhear the first time Lucky didn't block for the quarterback. It would probably be safer to stay out on the field than go back to the sidelines.

Does it seem strange to anyone that the search for the next AD will not begin until early 2010 when TO's contract runs through June? Just wondering because that seems like a potentially short time frame to find a replacement.

According to one of the articles, Buffalo has a game at Missouri next year. Sounds like a perfect opportunity to road trip and root on Gill and the University of Buffalo.
