  1. Link here (scroll to bottom): http://rivals100.rivals.com/content.asp?cid=683132 I think we are looking at him as potential OLB. Now a at Rivals. Looks like he will visit us. Every team in the Big 12 North has offered him (with exception of Iowa State). I think our chances should be pretty good.
  2. This board is the best. The recruiting section is sweet!
  3. Welcome N, Tyson! Here's a link with some info. (about middle of the page): http://story.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=2&c=634611
  4. Player: Jerel Worthy Hometown: Huber Heights, OH Position: DT Height: 6'2" Weight: 288 lbs. 40 time: 5 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Cincinnati, Marshall, Ohio, Michigan State, West Virginia, NC State Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Bid Red Report: Assessing the talent: Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 25% Nebraska and Ohio State are listed as favorites at Rivals. Ohio State has not offered as far as I am aware.
  5. Player: Khiry Cooper Hometown: Shreveport, LA Position: WR Height: 6'2" Weight: 175 lbs. 40 time: 4.5 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Arkansas, LA Tech, Tulsa, Oklahoma, LSU, Florida Favorites: Signed with Nebraska Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Big Red Report: Assessing the talent: Steady WR prospect who last season caught 48 balls for 705 yards and 6 TD's. He was an All-District player as well as honorable mention All-State. Also is a stand-out in baseball. Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 100% Who is recruiting in LA? This kid would be nice pick-up from LA.
  6. He is going to visit us next week. I have increased his odds of being N. In the end I think it will be between us and Mizzou. Gabbert is apparently talking to him but so are some Mizzou recruits. The visit should help tremendously...he isn't going to see the championship hardware at Mizzou. If this kid wants to play on a championship stage, he needs to come here. We should have excellent shot.
  7. Player: Marc Anthony Hometown: Chandler, AZ Position: CB Height: 6'0" Weight: 182 lbs. 40 time: 4.56 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Colorado, Michigan, Illinois, Washington, Oregon State, Arizona State, Cal, Arizona, Washington State, Vanderbilt, Boise State Favorites: Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Bid Red Report: Assessing the talent: Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 20% This kid is from Chandler HS in AZ...same HS as TE prospect Dion Jordan...Michigan appears to be after both these guys. Time to tee this two-fer up for our AZ connection and get these kids to be N! We need CB (Anthony) and TE (Jordan) recruits for this class.
  8. Player: Fred Craig Hometown: Cincinnati, OH Position: LB / S Height: 6'2" Weight: 210 lbs. 40 time: 4.5 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Louisville, Indiana, Michigan State, West Virginia, Duke, Cincinnati, Stanford, Vanderbilt Favorites: Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Bid Red Report: Assessing the talent: Is being recruited by some as outside LB and others may project him as a S. Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 15%
  9. Player: Justin Chaisson Hometown: Las Vegas, NV Position: DE Height: 6'5" Weight: 255 lbs. 40 time: 4.8 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Oklahoma, Florida, LSU, Iowa, UNLV, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, UCLA, Cal, South Carolina Favorites: Nebraska, Oklahoma, Florida, LSU Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Big Red Report: Assessing the talent: Per Yahoo! Sports via Rivals: The scouting report on Chaisson is he has outstanding speed off the edge, but what makes him even more valuable is his strength and power. If his quickness doesn't beat his opponent then strength and power will. Chaisson earned all-league as a sophomore after accounting for 60 solo tackles and 15 sacks. He was an all-state selection as a freshman. Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 25% Obviously really early but he states we are in his top 3.
  10. Link here: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug=ri...tory_recruiting Major has cut his schools from around 50 down to 20. Good news...we made the cut. Bad news...he will be cutting down to 10 and he already has 5 slotted in his top 10...they are Oklahoma, Colorado, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Oregon...we need to get in this guy's top 10 and get him N for a visit! He is right next door in Colorado and I don't see him going to the CU program...OU would have to be the leader but I think they are giving him the snow job that he'll play early for their own depth and to keep him away from other Big 12 schools. We are primed to make a run at this guy...what are we waiting for? Git R Done!
  11. Player: Shaun Mohler Hometown: Costa Mesa, CA Position: LB Height: 6'3" Weight: 225 lbs. 40 time: 4.6 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Cal, Colorado, Louisville, Washington State Favorites: Committed to Colorado Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Bid Red Report: Assessing the talent: Tackling machine led state with 99 tackles Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 40% Originally committed to Cal...but now will be in Lincoln on 6/20 for a visit.
  12. Player: Vaughn Dotsy Hometown: Ventura, CA Position: OG Height: 6'4" Weight: 364 lbs. 40 time: 5.59 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Florida, Alabama, Ole Miss, LSU, Michigan, Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA, Oregon, Utah, San Diego State Favorites: Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Bid Red Report: Assessing the talent: From A Step Ahead: Jim Stefani's Underclassman Football Recruiting Blog - I first learned of Dotsy when he was a freshman at St. Bonnie, and he’s been near the top of my list of top Class of 2008 prospects ever since…….He plays for one of the most powerful programs in southern California as St. Bonaventure regularly turns out prep All-Americans (Michael Williams and .Blaine Irby in the Class of 2007, Dotsy and super transfer Darrell Scott in 2008 and watch out for Lorenzo Booker’s cousin, RB Patrick Hall, in 2009!)…………..His coach feels that he could be the nation’s top offensive lineman as a senior……A CalHiSports First Team Underclass and Sophomore selection the past two years and also named First Team All-County by the Ventura County Star both seasons……..A naturally big kid, was already 6-3, 300 as a freshman…..Very, very strong as he put up 31 bench reps as a sophomore at a combine, but he needs to improve a bit on his quickness (5.32 shuttle).……….A real mauler who really moves the pile and is a great finisher…….Will be a guard in college.....Second Team 2007 Scout.com Los Angeles Combine........Will need to watch his weight........An honors student with a 3.5 GPA……Will be one of California’s most heavily recruited prospects... Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 20% Article link here says he wants to visit us and that Nebraska has been recruiting him the hardest...let's round out the O-Line, folks!
  13. Player: Arden Dorsey Hometown: Tyler, TX Position: DT Height: 6'4" Weight: 285 lbs. 40 time: 4.8 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, LSU, West Virginia Favorites: possibly A&M Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Bid Red Report: Assessing the talent: HS stand-out on OL but will play DT this year and projects as DT at next level. Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 15% This kid has some major programs offering; we stack up against the other programs but we just need to get after it if we are serious about his recruitment.
  14. Player: Ugo "Junior" Okpara Hometown: Sugar Land, TX Position: CB Height: 6'1" Weight: 175 lbs. 40 time: 4.48 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Arkansas, Virginia, Boston College Favorites: Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Bid Red Report: Assessing the talent: Very good size and speed for a CB and plays the position long with excellent wingspan. With added bulk and strength could be a solid D-1 starting CB. Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 40%
  15. I'll say I'm surprised here. Not only that we didn't offer but that he ended up at Kansas. KU just landed another 3 star TE in Tanner Hawkinson over the weekend. I thought Biere was coming on strong and may have potentially gotten more offers. I just thought that since we went after in-state talent with Levorson we would do the same with Biere. I'll say I think TE has been one of the most disappointing positions under BC. I have expected a lot more out of the position. So while my first reaction is how can we lose Biere (especially as has been noted, most of the top TE's are already committed elsewhere), I guess I have to trust we have some TE's ready to step up...Mueller and Phillips will get us through this year and I am guessing Teafatiller and McNeill can battle it out after that. Good luck to Biere...except against us!
  16. Player: Keelan Johnson Hometown: Mesa, AZ Position: ATH Height: 6'0" Weight: 195 lbs. 40 time: 4.5 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Arizona Favorites: Verbal Nebraska Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Big Red Report: Assessing the talent: Johnson recently attended camps at both Nebraska and Arizona and has received offers from both. He is a RB / S prospect who earned first team all region last season. Also plays on his HS basketball team. Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 20% yet another talented prospect from AZ
  17. Player: Jonathan Gimm Hometown: Spring, TX (Houston) Position: TE Height: 6'3" Weight: 235 lbs. 40 time: 4.7 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Kansas, Boise State, Lousiana Tech, Rice Favorites: Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Bid Red Report: Assessing the talent: Physical TE that excels as a blocker. From Big Red Report: He had over 130 pancakes on the season averaging 18 pancakes a game. He hauled in five receptions for 45 yards. Gimm earned first team all-district honors. Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 20%
  18. Interesting article here: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news;_ylt=Am...s&type=lgns We are at #12 for toughest schedule. Only other Big 12 team in top 25 is Texas A&M at #25. This is a big year for us to get some huge wins. If we get big wins early, I really like our chances for bringing the program back to the top of the Big 12 and beyond for years to come. We still need those signature wins so let's get 'em!
  19. Welcome, John! Will be interesting to see his development...if he will be DB or WR. The kid has a great GPA...he strikes me a heads-up player...maybe we will see him in on some gadget stuff before he gets crack as a starter when he is upperclassman? I don't see bulking him up a bit to be an issue. I do like the fact that we are keeping the best in-state talent...he should know what it means to be a Husker. So, when is Biere going to be offered? We need TE's...and lots of our prospects have come off the board (Jones, Ladner, Hanna, Figueroa, DiLillo...Stoneburner and Fauria were snatched early also). If anyone knows...is Biere the highest rated TE to come from in-state since who?
  20. This kid showed up at our camp as a surprise...that is a good sign. Let's get him N!
  21. Recent article on this kid here: http://recruiting.scout.com/2/651854.html What are we doing at WR? With the talent we have at QB (Lee and Witt last year), now upcoming (with Gabbert) plus the style of offense we play, we need to break down some doors at WR. Sure we got Paul in-state but we need to grab some more talent at WR. It's obvious any big-time WR that comes here is going to play early, be part of a great offense with talent at QB, play for a head coach with NFL-offense mentality, etc. Have we identified the next key WR for this class? Now that Kemp is off the board who is a top target for us? Gabbert's commitment should be at least worth one big-time WR. Is it unreasonable for us to expect to grab 2 WR's in the top 50? I know we have grabbed some good WR recruits but I'm getting a bit tired of hearing the cream of the crop WR recruits talk about Florida schools, USC, LSU, OU, and UT...
  22. Player: Quentin Williams Hometown: Pittsburgh, PA Position: TE Height: 6'4" Weight: 230 lbs. 40 time: 4.7 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Oklahoma, Colorado, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan State, Northwestern, Illinois, West Virginia, Boston College, Rutgers, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech Favorites: Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Bid Red Report: Assessing the talent: From A Step Ahead: Jim Stefani's Underclassmen Football Recruiting Blog: It's a deep year for tight ends in Pennsylvania and Williams is among the very best, not just in Pennsylvania, but on the entire East Coast.........As a junior, he was a First Team All-Conference selection after catching 22 passes for 424 yards and 6 touchdowns. On defense, he added 42.5 tackles, 13.5 TFL, 8.5 sacks and two quarterback hurries from his DE spot.........Was already playing varsity ball as a freshman for a strong program that regularly churns out D-I talent.......Has a nice combination of size, strength and athleticism Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 10% Lots of schools to sort through here Yahho! Sports article: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug=ri...tory_recruiting
  23. Player: Brandon Thompson Hometown: The Woodlands, TX Position: OT Height: 6'6" Weight: 280 lbs. 40 time: 5.08 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Iowa State, Purdue, Northwestern, Virginia, Arizona, Air Force, Boise State, Rice Favorites: Signed with Nebraska Rankings/Stars: Rivals: Bid Red Report: Assessing the talent: Prototypical OL with solid potential. Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 100% Not sure how strong we have made a push for him Yahho! Sports article: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug=ri...tory_recruiting
