  1. who the hell said he was going to be hurt all year?? Well he did hurt his foot 10 months ago..........and its still a problem. I am a huge Cody Glenn fan (look at my sig) but he hasnt been the same since he got hurt, I dont think a MRS is a bad idea. Every time I read these message boards I get more pissed off, and no its not necessarily at Calahan. last year I stayed frustrated after Cody had the 150+ game against Iowa State, got player of the game, then got 5 carries the following game. I think Calahan f***ed him last year.....this year is different, Im mad at Cody. I played w/ the guy for 3 years and watched him play a whole season with a shoulder that dislocated regularly. He's had a "nagging ankle injury" for almost a year now...have surgery and get it fixed or something. Castille looked good as the power back, I hope Cody atleast fights back to take that job back over because I dont see him beating Lucky out as the featured back. Im a fan of the old one-two punch w/ Lucky and Glenn.
  2. overdose on Advil?....coming from a pretty strong source. Out of ICU but still in hospital while running test.
  3. If the Castille kid has any brains at all he will definately red shirt. He's got three good backs ahead of him right now. Callahan's going to play his son, Marlon no matter how good Castille is. And theres no way he's got more power then Glenn does between the tackles. By the way, who wants a RB in the backfield that doesn't have enough balls to say I want the ball more than 20 times a game. Ask Glenn that question and see what he says? There were several times in the Iowa State game where Glenn was in the open field and made guys miss and got in the endzone or had long runs.
  4. I played with Glenn so I'd know. He may not have the best hands out of the back field but he does catch a majority of the passes thrown to him, so get some balls and try if Callahan. Give it to him on a little out route, you think any cornerback in the country wants to tackle the beast head up out there? NOPE, sure dont! I like all the guys stating the statistics and proving some of these Lucky worshipers wrong. but my favorite was Glenns one game as the feature back, which he had about 150 yards and PLAYER OF THE GAME!!! Also another great fact was the yards per carry when he was in on short yardage every time. You bring the power back in, the D loads up the box. You have 5 wr's and one RB, the Defense is spread out....if anything Lucky should have more yards per carry easily, but thats not the case. Just something to think about. Its a nice one two punch, but I think the two punch needs to get it a little more often than he did this past year.
  5. You see me taking anything away from the other backs? nope, sure didnt. I believe I credited Bjax from the beginning. You were wrong, Cody did not know what he was getting into when he went there. He knew he had competition with Lucky then Callahan brings in a juco transfer. Yes Glenn is hurt right now and I understand thats why he hasnt played the last couple games, but before that he wasnt hurt. I knew the games he was hurt and the ones he didnt play in (not due to injury). You guys never answer my questions that make sense....I asked why we dont see more of Glenn on the short yardage plays hes SUPPOSE to run. No one made a comment about that becuase neither of the backs are more physical than that. About Lucky....what kind of running back said he does NOT want the ball 20-30 times a game??? Thats who I want in my backfield, a running back with NO BALLS! I wish he'd give them 20 or 30 carries to Glenn. Come on, ya'll have to admit thats lame. But about the teams he would go to.....GO HORNED FROGS!!! A great fit for him.
  6. I wish Glenn would leave Nebraska and go to a team that runs the ball out of a running offense and not the WCO. THen I wish that team would play Nebraska so he could show coach Cally a little something. I guess the Iowa State game wasnt enough for them to see. 150 or so yards? 2 or 3 tds? player of the game on abc? na, hes not a threat at all!
  7. I don't understand how you can say the C-Train needs to step up when its his chacne....when has he NOT stepped up? Can you answer that one for me. Yeah he may have one fumble on the year but I believe thats it. How many times has he been tackled for a loss when he's carried the ball? His yards per carry are/were almost the same as Jackson and Lucky which may not sound like much the the D knows when Glenn is in the game that HES GETTING THE BALL! They stack the box and he still gets positive yards as to when Lucky and Jax are in you have to watch the threat that they can catch the ball out of the backfield. One point I want to get a cross is....if you're gonna call him you're short yardage back, then give him the damn ball on short yardage! bottom line!
  8. What happened to the committee of running backs for Nebraska? If you've got 4 good ones, why not use all of them and keep them fresh. Bjax has done great but it wouldnt hurt to give him a breather or two by replacing him with another damn good back for a few plays. How many of these backs will be back at Nebraska next year? too much talent to go to waste on the bench
  9. You're obviously wrong there Huskers guy. Like a few of the past posts have said, Cody was seen congratulating all of the Nebraska players who scored touchdowns or even made good plays (including running backs). I personally know Cody and know for a fact that he would never say anything negative to a coach or a teammate for that matter. I've played alot of sports with alot of guys and never played with an athlete that was as much about his team as Cody is. Just to spice it up a little on the ole huskerboard.....if there had been a fight between Cody and another back then the other backs would have doubtful for the game also with their own personal injuries! haha
  10. Taking nothing away from the backs, the main two did look good. Lucky had two long runs early in the game but if you were watching the game then you should give alot of praise to that O-line. Lucky was untouched on his first two touchdowns. I didnt see the third one so Im not sure but he did go in between the tackles and run harder than usual or atleast harder than he did against USC. Sucks to see Glenn sidelined with an injury, I imagine Callahan was fired up about that. That way he had an excuse on why he didn't play him. Hope he's back next week.
  11. Look, the only time he had the same number of carries as Lucky, he outrushed him by 9 yards. Thats my point. Taking nothing away from Lucky, but after those numbers tell me how you give your leading rusher LESS carries he next week? It just dont make and sense, a damn three year old can see that. Ill admit, Glenn isnt the best receiver out of the backfield. Im sure you watch the games....tell me how many times you've seen Mr Glenn tackled for a loss or by one defender for that matter? It sucks for a back to come in the game and theres 11 players on the other side that know he's getting the ball so they load the box and he still gets positive yards. The only thing that makes me not like Lucky is the fact that the coaches have given him numerous chances to live up to his 5 star abilitiy and I just havent seen it.
  12. If I had a bucket then Id give it to you DJR....we're not just talking from opinion here buddy. READ THE STATS from the first game. No one from Hollywood wants to get on here and talk about Lucky, hell they're probably embarrassed and trying to figure out how he plays as much as he does.
  13. How many yards does the almighty Lucky average when running between the tackles? I dont even have to say anything else. Once again, he should be in on the screens, and maybe the sweeps outside. You cant really compare his avg. yards per touch when you include the passes they've thrown to him because most of the backs havent had many of those.
  14. I believe that Callahan wanted to rub in USC's face that he recruited Lucky from them and show him how good he was and what they were missing.....but unfortunately, it came back to bite him on the @$$! Does he (Callahan) ever watch the game films after the game? I'd hope he would but after watching the USC game Im not sure he does. Glenn leads the team in rushing in the first game so we give him LESS carries the 2nd game, he still scored two TD's so we play him even LESS the 3rd game. Just dont understand how that is? explain please
  15. I don't see how you can say that Lucky hits the holes quicker because he don't. He gets the ball and automatically is looking to run outside and try to outrun the defense every play. He doesn't want to go inside the tackles where he might get hit hard and hurt his arm. Lucky should be in the game on 3 situations....a screen, toss right or left, or as a receiver in passing downs. If their defense was so fast then we shouldnt have tried to outrun them, lets maybe OVERPOWER them with our BEST back. Its pretty obvious when every person that knows anything about football is asking where Glenn was against USC? come on Callahan, wake up!
