  1. What kind of name is Bruno? Seriously? I picture a fat guy on soprano's!!!
  2. Flag!--15 yd penalty for 'Napoleonic Complex'--loss of down! (c'mon, I keeed, I keeed Mangino Nacione....) Obvious reply for someone who can't think of anything of substance to say!
  3. Dude. WTF strain of kind bud did you score on Mass Street this weekend? Are you kidding me? Being in Lawrence actually equates to home field advantage? Honestly? I've been there. It's nice, for a high school facility. Nice track, BTW. IONS? I guess I could see a lot of static discharge every time Mangino's thighs rub together when he's walking, but otherwise I'm not following you. You remember what long seasons are like, right? I'm assuming you followed KU football before the stars aligned and miracle '07 season unfolded, but just as a reminder, imagine this guy sitting on your head and farting: KU couldn't beat NU by two touchdowns even if Jaleel White was the starting Husker QB. Yeah Captain, were you there for the 76 points we hung on ya'll last time you were there? Or the time before when we beat you? LOL. Our home field advantage matters my friend. You'll find out once again this year. I swear, the Huskers win a few games and their fans annoint themselves a top 10 team. Funny stuff. To address another one of the kool-aid chuggers on this board, As for our O-line, we started 2 freshman tackles last year, and a true freshman tight end. We do lose our center and 2 guards, but they sucked, and Hartley was beaten out half way through the year by Sal Capra. So technically, we lose 2 guys. Our tackles with a season of starting under their belt (plus 3rd year in the system) will shine. I'm really not concerned about our o-line. They'll greatly improve. Oh, and captain obvious, you may wanna watch the kind bud comment-I would say that's a personal attack!!! Mods!!! oh Mods!?!?! First, you are talking about the defense that had 60 points put on by Colorado and 50 some by Ball State. I think UNO could have put up 60 on us in 07, Big deal. Now, No, we didn't forget about the last 2 losses there but this is also a completely different team, different staff, and different mentality. Callahan couldn't seem to get kids to be mentally tough, on the road especially. Which lead to getting our ass kicked multiple times on the road during his 4 years there. Bo and his staff are completely different. Our players have confidence and are a lot tougher than they were under Callahan, and that was proven multiple times this past year. Finally, You guys cant say sh#t about winning a few games and then gulping down the koolaid. What happenned after 07? Kansas fans got cocky as all hell. We aren't cocky, nor do I think we are anywhere near a top even 15-20 team but we are better than Kansas. No matter what you guys do, Kansas will always only be a mediocre football program. Well put. Telling someone they suck, and they always will, because they always have is not "well put" at all. We have actaully gotten a lot better, since some of you are new, I will rehash a tiny bit. We have won bowls 3 of the last 4 seasons, and in those year's we have beaten you guys twice, got a nice win off Va. Tech, upset a good MU squad (in what is now a much more prominent rivalry nationally than before) at Arrowhead, built a ton of new facilities, and seriously upgraded our talent. We may not beat Oklahoma, Texas or Nebraska, but Rome wasn't built in a day. We keep going into the year in the top 25, our season ticket sales are way up, and things for us in football are becoming consitently the best they have ever been. We are the most popular pick to win the North this year, and we may or may not, but when have we ever been able to be able to do so well over what will be a 5 year period. It is easy to tell people what they can't do, and small minded and lacking in vision. So we may not succeed, we may not become a dynasty, we may not even win the North this year, but no great person or group ever got there without preperation and by listening to people who say you can't. As for Cocky, I guess you are not listening to a majority of Kansas fans. I am on this board all the time, have been for a long time. I do not remember being cocky. I think my points are thought out and I appreciate others can disagree with me, and still be well thought out. I have had season tickets for years, and went with my dad to watch the beatings as a kid. I did not just show up and declare victory. Just like any fan base, we have all kinds, but for the most part KU fans are good fans and I think probably on the less "cocky" side, as a community overall. I'm starting to think Bruno is under the age of 18, just by his comments, and constant annoyance. Most fans on here are actually very knowledgable, and actually explain their reasoning. Take notes rookie. Nice post Jayhawk.
  4. I've been warned by the mods for a lot less. I don't think smoking weed is something to joke about. I've had some good friends of mine lose their life because of that. I don't attack people on here, I just explain my side. Do I realize NOBODY on this board will agree with my side-YES. However, when people on this board start talking about KU, and no nothing about them, because the only game they watched was when KU played NU. Then yes, it bothers me. You don't see me bringing up the 52-17 beatdown Missouri gave ya'll last year...do you!?! Our team improved, and learned a lot from our trip to Lincoln, just as your team did after getting waxed by Missouri. The only thing we can agree on at this point is that KU and NU will be at the top of the North next year. We closed out strong beating a good Missouri team, and ya'll beat up on some powder puffs after you beat us to finish the year. Congrats. See you in Lawrence next year.

  6. does the word Sproles mean anything to you, there have been countless guys who have been "too small" that have continued to play great even in the pros, I hate when people use size of an RB as a reason they are not good. Anyways KU will be good, but NU will also be good. I dont think it will determine the North, it WILL be a great game, not a blowout from either side Also you have to ask your self do you want NU to go to the big12 championship game and lose? I can see the positives and negatives for that, but I am hesitant in wanting to go and get killed by a south team (UT, OU, OSU) Well, it's not just that Sharp is too small, he's just not that good. He's no Sproles, different animal altogether. But even Sproles will never be an every down back in the League--because of his size. And sure, I want us to get to the CCG game. It's a step in the right direction. We may lose, but I don't think we'll get blown out because of the strength of our D--and it's amazing that I can type that last part considering our D in '07. Sharp isn't good? According to who....you? Who cares what you think. Anyone will tell you he's a good running back. Have you watched the guy play, or are you just being ignorant? Just because the guy is small doesn't mean he's bad.
  7. I've always respected Dennis! 14. Kansas: Any team with quarterback Todd Reesing is capable of anything. That includes winning the Big 12 North, which the Jayhawks should be favored to do in '09. Even with the linebacking unit having to be replaced, KU could be better defensively. Issue: A better running game would be nice to keep Reesing from getting beaten to a pulp. 16. Nebraska: Slowly, surely the Huskers are getting their swagger back. The difference in the Big 12 North is the Kansas game being in Lawrence. Issues: Spelling lessons when writing about receiver Curenski Gilleylen and nose tackle Ndamukong Suh. He's a smart man.
  8. I think NE FAN at large grasps football and our team just fine, thanks, and we know that our qb and rcvr situation is going to be an issue: but we are going to be alright! Whichever qb we plug in is a talented guy familiar with the system. It's closer to 'reload' than otherwise. Paul, Holt, McNeill have already seen alot of game time and have made an impact. Brooks, Gilleylen(FAST!) and hopefully Cooper(stud) will provide depth. They are going to be fine. But our line play on both sides is what is going to be the difference, we're going to be stout. Our running attack will be the best in the North w/o a doubt. And our D, forget about it, going to be dominant! If you guys don't improve your running attack next year you are in deep doo doo..... LOL. You won't be able to run if you can't throw buddy! And as of right now, you really don't know. We'll just stack the box on you all day until you prove otherwise. You won't have the personel with the losses you sustained at receiver my friend. Our running attack will be even better! Are you kiddin me? Jake Sharp is the best running back in the Big 12 North! You're crazy dude. Just check his stats pal!
  9. I said we're neck and neck in recruiting with Nebraska NOW!! Read it again. As of today, Nebraska is 25 and we're 31. KU will probably land a few more 4 star kids before we're finished. We now have the BEST facilities in the Biig 12 (maybe only Texas is better) and it's starting to show. Have you seen pictures of our new facilities-weight room, locker room, etc??? It is really amazing. You should check them out. You can probably find them on-line by googling "Kansas Football New Facilities". Once recruits visit (that's the key, getting them to visit) they're usually blown away by what they see. Not to mention, showing off our Orange Bowl Trophy to recruits helps as well! Recruits like tradition....right?? LOL

  11. I don't see Nebraska beating V-Tech in Blacksburg. V-Tech will be better, and playing in Blacksburg is a whole different beast altogether! Even the great Miami teams (when they were dominant) would either struggle or lose in Blacksburg.
  12. Oh, and to the un=informed posters commenting about the turnover on KU's coaching staff. We lost Tovar (linebacker coach) and Joe Bob Clements to KSU (who sucked). We gained one of the best defensive coordinators in the country from Louisville to join our current d-coordinator Tim Bowen as Co-defensive coordinator. It was a HUGE hire! Far from a giant over-haul of coaches. Besides, you guys are the last people I want to hear from speaking about coaching changes. You guys change coaches like my daughter goes through diapers!!!
  13. I'll put this thread to rest with this: Husker Nation is not grasping how difficult the loss of their skill players on offense will be. Period. When you finally grasp it, you'll be 6 games deep into the schedule. I thought the same way before last year that the losses of McAnderson, Collins, Henry, and Fine (2 of the 4 are starting in the NFL right now), wouldn't affect the Hawks because we had capable back-ups that saw time. I was wrong. Yes, KU did lose all 3 of their linebackers, who by the way, under achiebed big time last year. Not to mention Mortenson was hurt all year, and Rivera was never that good to begin with. The loss of Holt will hurt. I see KU's defensive line as being a major strenght this year, with the return of Jake Laptad (who led our team in sacks) and many young players who saw time last year. The bottom line is this: It's fun to talk about this now, but really nobody has a clue of the kind of team either one of us will have until we're at least 3 games deep into the schedule. However, it is fun to spectulate! One thing is certain: We're going to want some PAYBACK! It's cool that Nebraska and KU are favored to take the North. Lets just be thankful people aren't talking CU and KSU. That would Suck! Any of you guys are welcome to tailgate with my crew in Lawrence for the game. We have around 12 husker fans a few years back join us. They took the beatdown well. Hopefully they'll act the same way after we spank ya'll.
  14. Keep telling yourself that. KU's defense will improve with the addition of our new defensive coordinator. We're neck and neck with you according to Rivals for recruits, and have recruited heavily Defensive Ends, and d backs. Our defense won't be as bad as they were last year. Our offense will be by far the best in the Big 12 North.
  15. Thats crap! KU left a ton of points on the field!! Are you kidding me? Not to mention all the hoilding calls that we'rent called on you guys. See you in Lawrence my friend.
  16. Nebraska fans will be disappointed in the MAJOR decline of offensive production next year. However, their defense will improve in my opinion. I see this game as being close, with KU forcing Nebraska to turn the ball over. Being in Lawrence will be too much to overcome for the Blackshirts. Reesing and the KU offense are just too much at home. I don't think Nebraska fans are grasping how bad the loss of Ganz will affect them. Having a proven starter is HUGE. Just ask KU. It took Mangino IONS to finally get Reesing. Now that we have that stability, success has followed. It will be a learning year for the NU QB, especially the fact that he'll be surrounded my other YOUNG skilled players. It will be a long season for the Nebraska offense. They'll have to rely on the defense to win most games. But it won't be enough against KU in Lawrence. KU 31 NU 17
  17. Oh, and there was no flag on the play. We were in Lincoln and I'm pretty sure the refs were celebrating the hit, along with the Husker players
  18. I have a sick feeling he'll return. I hink if he stays he can be a top 10 pick. Darn the luck
  19. So for those who don't know, I'm a Jayhawk fan, yes, I know, nobody is perfect. Anyway, I seriously had a flashback nightmare of this year's 2008 meeting between KU and NU. It was horrible to have to sit through the game again. A lot of it was "Dejavu", but even worse, after Suh made his last sack of the game (he had several) Reesings head actually came off! That's when I realized it was a dream, you know, sometimes you know you're in one. I woke up shortly after that in a cold sweat. I'll tell all of you right now that if Suh returns, then I'll predict NU to win the North. Think I'm crazy? That guy will be the best defensive player in the Big 12 next year if he returns and competely took over the game against KU this year. He is the last guy I want to face next year. So, here's to him leaving early and for some better dreams!
  20. If Nebraska does win the Big 12 and play in the Fiesta Bowl, it will go down as one of the greatest 1 season turnarounds in the history of CFB. Considering the skill players NU losses.
  21. Heck guys, as a jayhawk fan, I just want to win the north one time baby!! Just one time! This is Reesing's last year and we can't win it, then hell, who knows if we ever will. Here's to hoping like hell KU can beat ya'll in Lawrence and go at least 1-2 against South teams! I see NU losing to OU next year (cause OU beats everybody) and tying KU for first (God I hope so anyway). I have a feeling are game will decide the North. Cheers and Good Luck Boys But not that much luck!
  22. Missouri would never leave the Big 12, neither would Nebraska. Who started this nonsense?
  23. Young didn't like the idea of competition.......these kids that throw in the towel, when we recruit more guys to play the same position.....well, if they don't have any more confidence in their ability than that, they just don't belong here. we have seen this before......no great loss. I completely disagree with that. Young didn't leave Nebraska because of competition. From what I've heard he is a pretty good kid. If you go to the rivals site, you'll see that KU has recruited 3 other defensive ends, besides young, that are all ranked higher than Young. He'll likely redshirt at KU. Regardless, these kids are 18 year olds. They change their mind like the wind!
  24. Yeah I guess, but we already have some pretty good DE's already in our class. I'd much rather of seen Earnest Norman flip flop back to us. Can we have him back?? PLEASE? Heck, I think we'd give you Young back for Norman. We're going to be hurting at linebacker next year! I think Norman has the talent to see some time as a true Freshman.
