  1. Good post. I respect your position on this. To answer your question from earlier, Jake Sharp did break the Kansas rushing record previously held by Barry Sanders or Darren Sproles, can't remember who.
  2. Are you serious? Sports Illustrated predicts Talib as the 5th best player in all of the country and the #1 CB in the nation! He is a for sure top 10 pick in 2008. Book it. His preseason awards are well deserved from his 6 interceptions and 26 pass break-ups in 10 games last season. He was tied for the lead in picks across the country last year. No logical Husker fan would predict NU by more than 7 points over KU. (Please see the last 3 games between these two teams if you think I'm crazy: 2006= 37-31- Husker Win 2005= 40-15- Jayhawk Win 2004= 14-8- Husker Win 04 and 05 were rebuilding years. They won't be repeated. I was less impressed with the 14-8 win than the 40-15 loss. Hope you enjoyed 2005...it could be many years before it happens again...But at least KU is used to that vs. NU. Good luck vs. those powerhouses of Central Michigan, Southeast Louisiana, Southeastern Louisiana, SE Loui...sh*t, does it really matter? Do they seriously have a football team??? Toledo, and Florida International. Looks like Mangino hired Snyder to do his scheduling. I'm not sure what I'm more concerned about...how much KU wins by, or how many non-conference players Mangino eats. Well, have fun going 4-0...it'll make homecoming less painful. LOL. This is the funniest post ever! I do agree with most of it. Mangino is stealing from the book of Snyder on how he schedules. The problem is that these games were set 4-5 years ago when KU was finishing 2-10, so we had to play cupcakes. Now with defense of the schedule Central Michigan isn't a scrub....they did win the MAC Championship outright and gave Michigan and Minnesota scares last year. However, the other 3 are poopers. Hopefully at the conclusion of each non conference game we can keep Mangino from eating the opposing teams players. LOL But mark my words. Whoever Talib covers for nebraska, MO, Nunn, Swift, whoever, they will get shut down. The game will be close. Sorry Husker nation.

  4. You forgot Cornish is gone.............we will win by 28. Let me get this straight..... skersOVR said 21 point Husker win and huskernation is down for a 28 point Husker win. It looks like the last years game that went to Overtime in Lincoln didn't really wake a few fans up. I said last year that the game would be close fought to the end, and it was. This year will be the same. I think it could go either way. And don't worry about the loss of the best "System back" ever John Cornish and his blasing 4.65 40 speed. He was a great north south runner, no doubt, but there is a reason he is playing in the CFL now. Jake Sharp and company will do just fine replacing him. I'll go ahead and save your predictions like last year so I can come back and have a good laugh, just like last year. Thanks for playing. Take a hike. I see you ending up with the same fate as MizzouOwnsNU did. Bye-bye. Shouldnt you be at the Sizzler buffet with Mangino? Huh?? Nice response. Your logic is undeniable. I guess since I proved a valid point you decide to make fun of Mangino. I think I'll stay for a while rather than going "bye bye". I actually enjoy going back and fourth with MOST posters on here. Besides....whats the fun of posting on your teams board without hearing from other teams fans??? Its all good. Some of you guys really take this personal. No need to get your panties in a bunch.

  6. I agree. It makes the CFB experience even better when you get to party with the opposing fans. I mean, it's all in good fun. I just wish we were playing NU in October instead of November. I'm ready for a big match-up in Lawrence. Other than the opener against Central Michigan, it is a crappy schedule til we visit Mancrappin in October.
  7. Sorry, he doesn't mention Nebraska. He's not worried about the teams we play at home. (JK...couldn't resist) http://www2.kusports.com/news/2007/jul/23/...sas_aqib_talib/ Enjoy!
  8. ALTHOUGH this comes from a user (a Buff fan, nonetheless) on IGN and from an Ohio State fan I have to be honest. I think it's a little shady what NU did by only suspending him for 1 game. I think he deserves at least 4. But I don't think he should be kicked off the team like some people. KU went through the same thing with John Randle back in 2004. He got a domestic violence charge against him and numerous other violations. Mangino did everything in his power to try and get Randle back on the right track. But nothing worked. He was suspended for 4 games after his second violation, then he was dismissed after getting into a fight at a Lawrence night club and urinating in public. That was his 3rd violation and action had to be taken. I know the situation is a little different with Purify, but he does deserve to sit at least 4, if not 6 games for the two MAJOR mistakes he made. I know he is sorry, but so was Randle. If anything happens again, he should be gone. As Husker fans though, ya'll should be doing the dance of joy. The outcome is great news for the team....but no necessarily the School.
  9. I'll be at the game. No RV though. But my wife and I would sure stop by to have a few if youre OK with it. Don't worry about my wife, she know college football better than most of my friends! That's cool guys. The more people we can get there, the better. Anyone from this board really is welcome. We plan on buying 3 kegs and getting everything set up by 10 a.m. We're hoping that the game is scheduled for the evening so we can have a full day of tailgating. It will probably be 5 bucks a cup, but we don't usually charge for food. We'll have plenty. When the game is like 2 weeks away I'll private message the people who responded and give you the address. It's super close to the stadium. By then hopefully we'll have an idea on the game time. The really will make or break the tailgate. I hate 12 or 1 o'clock kickoff's!!
  10. The original plan was to make the Baylor game KU's homecoming, but KU has what is called a fall break and that is the same weekend as Baylor. USually during that weekend the attendance is down. So they figured why not hype the biggest home game of the year for the Hawks a little bit more by having it for the Nebraska game. I guess it's a good idea, but KU might of been better off scheduling it for ISU or Baylor cause they need a big draw other than the season opener against Central Michigan and Nebraska. I'm a little worried about trying to fill the stadium against SE Louisiana and FIU. But who knows.
  11. Any Husker tailgaters coming to Lawrence this year? If so, I have a parking spot for ya. My brother recently purchased a home just across the street from the stadium and it has room to park an SUV or an RV/motorhome. The reason I ask is because in 2005, my family and I had a blast tailgating with husker fans. The fans we met had a motorhome of about 20 fans. If ya'll have a big group that weekend that needs to park and doesn't mind drinkin with Hawk fans, then let me know. We average around 40-45 people at our tailgates each game. The Husker game is always a favorite. And last, how many of you plan on making the trip to Lawrence this year. Cheers, -JGS30
  12. Just to let you all know, I've cut and pasted this little "prediction" so we can all read it again AFTER the Huskers have pounded the blue birds! Good. Keep the prediction. Of course, I was joking about winning the Big 12 title. I'm not foolish. However, I do think KU will beat NU. The teams are alot closer than you all think. And people that know me on this board know that I'm not one to trash talk. However, I think the game will be close and the Hawks win it at home. KU is a better team. And I think NU will be better. But the difference is that KU has you guys at home. Good luck though. I think it will be a great game. But we're better than KSU and we're just as good as you guys. You'll eventually have to except that. How many times do we have to play you close? Two overtimes in your backyard last year....and I didn't forget that before the game all you guys were calling for a 3-4 touchdown win for the Huskers. And knowledgeable Husker fans will not use the excuse that ya'll let off and let us back into the game. KU fought back in that game. Coach C is too good of a coach to let then give up or even let off.
  13. Darn right KU is a trap game. There is no way any husker fan on here can mark KU as a win this year. We have you guys right where we want you. At home, new QB, experienced defense, and both QB's back. I think KU will win. Save this post for November 5th. I am going to call elmers and tell them that they need to let you go as all you are doing is sniffing their glue. And I'm gonna tell your mom to stop letting you on the computer. Now go to your room while the adults have a serious conversation.
  14. Two reasons to start with: newby QB, and you ain’t got Jon Cornish totin the rock this year. KU defense might help you win a couple more than last year. The Jaycocks might even make it to a bowl game. For a change. For a change??? KU has made it to bowl games in 2003 and 2005. And I love the Jon Cornish excuse. News Flash: THERE IS A REASON CORNISH WASN'T DRAFTED??? HE WAS A SYSTEM BACK THAT WAS GOOD AT RUNNING NORTH AND SOUTH. Here is a name to remember: Jake Sharp. He will have 100 rushing yards against your skers. Write it down. No way you leave Lawrence with the W.
  15. Darn right KU is a trap game. There is no way any husker fan on here can mark KU as a win this year. We have you guys right where we want you. At home, new QB, experienced defense, and both QB's back. I think KU will win. Save this post for November 5th.
  16. With players like Talib, McClinton and Collins....(all 3 all big 12) How are you Huskers gonna beat us in Lawrence this year??
  17. Chase or Sam? Oh let me see.....neither! I'll stick with Meir and Reesing and finish 7-5 or 6-6 each year! Geeez...why do I put myself through this missery.
  18. I think this is great! Everyone is writting KU off yet again. I have a feeling that this will be the year KU and the fighting Mangino's turn the corner. The schedule sets up nicely. First 4 non conference games all at home. = 4-0 Then KU travels to Manhattan to play a KSU team they beat last year 39-20. = 5-0 Then KU plays Baylor at home= 6-0 Then KU travels to Boulder, CO to play Colorado. This will be close again this year. But we still get the W = 7-0 Write it down kids, the Hawks will be 7-0 and ranked in the top 25 for the first time since the early 90's. Then the Hawks will travel to Stillwater and get beat. = 7-1. Then they will go to College Station and put up a fight, but still lose. = 7-2. Then they get you Huskers at home and we all remember what happend last time you guys strutted into Lawrence Memorial Stadium (40-15). KU gets a HUGE win against the SKERS.= 8-2 Then KU dismantles ISU in Lawrence= 9-2 And finally, the Hawks travel to Arrowhead Stadium to deflate Pinkels dream season. This one will be for the North title. Hawks get the W behind 3 Aqib Talib picks. One is taken to the house. Sharp has Career day rushing.= 10-2. Then the Hawks meet a surprise team for the Championship in Texas. The Aggies are back and ready to play my Hawks for the title. In a hard fought game, KU takes them out in OT. 11-2. Fiesta Bowl Bound Hawks!!! OK, I'm full of BS!!! But a guy can dream can't he!!! Rock Chalk!
  19. That was mean, but funny. It was a terrible call. I still can't believe they lost that came. KU had the lead with 2:37 left in the game! But we're used to giving up leads to teams in the 4th quarter. It's kind of our motto at Kansas....."Play tough for 3 quarters....then realize that we're Kansas, and lay down in the 4th"
  20. I had a few requests to find this video. Mangino later apologized for his statements. It was the ehat of the moment no doubt. It really was a horrible call. Enjoy!
  21. I have to agree with Hunter here. Sorry skers. I'll take USC 31-17. But it will be close going into the 4th quarter. Don't feel bad though. USC is super loaded this year.....actually, it's sick how loaded they are. They'll win it all this year behind that Pete Carrol clown. I'm starting to hate that guy by the way.
  22. Yes. KSU and NU is a strecth. More like KU and NU. The last 3 games have been heated!! OK, neither one is really a rivalry. Have I mentioned how much I dislike KSU??
  23. Yahoo!! KU is 40 as of today!! LOL. That's a successful year in Lawrence if that holds!!
  24. This is wishful thinking in Kansas. What a tool. Definatly a kansas homer. Any other publications put it as NU and MU and then everyone else Huh? MU? Wait, there's another competitive program in the Big 12 North? Did Michigan come in or something? :-P I have to agree with Weiberg. The conference must come to an agreement to share the revenue, otherwise Texas and Oklahoma will continue to dominate the division and the North, even though Nebraska is still a major player, will continue to get left behind. Teams like Colorado, KSU, KU, MU, and dare I say it to an extent NU cannot continue to let Texas call the shots. There has to be sharing of revenue, t.v time, etc...or else I believe our conference will continue to be a two pony show with Texas and OU leading the way. Sorry to say that. "It's BCS". "That's why they called it" "That was the result of the game". "That's right, dollar signs"! And I'm not gonna sit here and get pushed around just because we're not the top spenders in the conference". - Coach Mangino after the 17-14 loss to Texas in 2004.
  25. I would have to say Sidetracks is the place to be before kickoff! My family and I were there so long, we damn near missed the kick-off!! We were in Jayhawk Blue and everyone in there treated us with respect and I met alot of cool husker fans. We had a blast and can't wait to come back.
