  1. There are enough boards around the net that are full of useless drivel. No need to make this one of them.
  2. Like I said in another thread: A ) His comment about being the dumbest team, while being pretty much accurate, was taken out of context. They lost games on penalties alone. How much dumber can you be. The guy tells it like it is. What's in just a quote anyway? I can tell you that you can take a single quote from most any speech out of context and make the quotee look horrible. The coach is responsible for disciplining the team, but you know as well as I do a player that gets paid millions a year and has an ego as big as the Woodmen is going to do whatever he wants. On to my next point.... B ) The Raiders team has a group of whiny, narcissistic players who didn't like Callahan to begin with. Couple that with a dick of an owner and you get a fired coach. Al Davis would have ruined Marcus Allens career if he hadn't got out when he did. If a recruit decides that he doesn't want to come to NU because of three quotes from random people, well then maybe we don't want him. A good recruiter sells what his University has to offer and doesn't rely on quotes from a sensational media.
  3. KState? Tradition? Now that would need an electron microscope.
  4. Typical Sooner fan. This is why we should require registration. I am sure this guy couldn't have figured out how to register. It's obvious Blake probably isn't a good head coach. That's why he isn't NU's head coach. Callahan's comments in Oakland, while well deserved, were taken out of context. Read into it a bit and get back to us instead of just spewing a bunch of crap. They were the dumbest team. Lost games via penalties. Now that's just dumb.
  5. Fumbleruski against Colorado in 1991, I believe. Now that was awesome! I was there and the weather sucked!

    John Blake

I have no idea what you just said.
  7. DAMNIT!! A friend of mine told me about this show the day after. I wish I would have caught it. That'll teach me to check the boards every day instead of actually working at work
  8. Excellent thread. He put forth his best every single game and never expected anything for it. Rock on!!
  9. You work for the Journal Star? hahahaha.
  10. How the hell do you measure an abstract concept like tradition?

ahh, Josh Heupel was recruited by Stoops. He wasn't there when he arrived.
  12. Al Davis is a prick that will try to sue anyone and everyone.
  13. The people who make the most money pay the most taxes. That's not very cool. Punish people for making more money than his neighbor? I am not sure I like Bush, but people freak out when they hear "tax cuts for the rich". Even though it might be the best for the economy. People hate rich people because they don't have as much money as they do. We really need to cut welfare. That would free up some money.
  14. I agree totally. If you don't have the DVD sets, do yourself a favor and buy them!
  15. This would be my top 5. Simpsons Family Guy SouthPark Beavis and Butthead (ruled) Clerks cartoon.
  16. Hey, I liked Pelini too but he isn't the only one in the world that can put together a great defense.
  17. I can't say I didn't expect that reply WyHusker. Go ahead and stew in your hatred and pound that tradition bible. We'll be off celebrating national championships sooner than later. Please, root for someone else. Oh and before you ask, yes, I was born in Nebraska and still live here. I just seem to have a more realistic view on the topic. College football is changing and that has to be accepted. I'm all for tradition, but I see when things have to change. See it as starting a new tradition. Hell, after 40 years maybe it's time for a change to be competitive, huh? End of state recruiting. Yea, ok. Exactly how will players NOT be drawn to a team that can better prepare them for a career in football? There is no doubt that these coaches will be missed by many and maybe it isn't fair. But no one said life was fair. This does not take away from their years of service at all. Anyway, I will say that I didn't expect as many to go that did but then again I didn't really know what you expect from Callahan. I never studied him as a college or pro coach. This is certainly a blow to the "traditionalists" (see above). To think that Callahan won't bring people in he can work with to make the team great is just plain stupid. Probably the biggest reason he didn't keep many is that the way he wants to run the program is vastly different than how it has been run. Obvously he didn't think it was worth it to "re-train", if you will, the staff. Out of everyone, Gill was the last one I expected to get an offer to stay. I agree that much more flux in the system and things will get nasty. After the hiring of the assistants, hopefully things will settle down. If that isn't a bunch of hearsay, assumptions and, well basically a bunch of BS I don't know what is. When will people stop believing that all Pederson wants to do is drive this program into the ground? Pretty soon hot dogs won't taste the same and you will blame it on Pederson, you'll wake up with a sore foot and you'll blame it on Pederson, etc, etc, etc. FIGHT THE MAN! Yea, ok.
  18. Why was this posted in two forums? I agree with AR.
  19. Like I said before, I think we still have too many forums. Things are broken up to finely. The football section is OK. I'll go through the others. "Other stuff" Husker baseball and basketball forums are good. The others should be one forum IMO. A strictly off-topic forum "Huskers ETC" I think most of these forums fall under the off-topic forum. The feedback forum is good to have. "Big 12 Breakdown" Eh, I guess it's ok to leave these. "A guide to lincoln" could be a single forum. Again I don't see a need to break this out into individual forums. I would have a for-sale forum for Husker stuff/tickets and one for other stuff would be good. I think there are way to many posts of just pasting an article and that's it. At least post a link and start some kind of discussion about it. This has gotten better as of late which is cool. This is an awesome site. The tards will always be here, and there will be more as more people find out about it. However, we have some good people here and I hope we get more! I have been looking for something like this for some time. All the other boards I post on don't like my Husker posts . I will post more things as I think of them. Thanks again guys!!!!!!
  20. I don't know why people are counting him out right now. I think he has the passing technique that Lord didn't and can be as mobile, if not more so than Lord was. As far as his involvement in the WCO, he will need to learn like everyone else. He has the raw talent to be a good QB in most any type of offense. It is the coaches job to mold him into the offense. I look for him to be a front runner for QB in the fall.
  21. I think Cotton realized this and has done some work in this avenue already. I don't think pass blocking is something totally foriegn to the current players. If we had players "out of the box" that could run the WCO then we wouldn't need coaches. Coaches take talent and mold it. I think Dailey could be just he man for the job, with some coaching of course.
  22. I agree about Gill and the WCO, however Gill is an excellent recruiter and I would imagine Callahan would like that. He obviously can't do all the work himself. As far as defensive coaches, I can see him keeping Pelini, Pelini not wanting to stay and him ditching Pelini. It's hard to say right now. Hopefully it will all get sorted out this week.
  23. Once again you display that you don't know much about the game.
