  1. I don't really think the problem with our option offense was our personnel. I believe it stems back to the supporting scheme we try to run with the option. The option can only be effective if there is a dedication to a POWER running game between the tackles. Running between the tackles forces the linebackers and safeties to stay home and cover the middle of the field. All of our running game is dedicated around a ZONE blocking scheme and is mostly off tackle. This allows linebackers and safeties to roam the field and fly to the edges. Now if the problem that we don't run a power running game is because of our personnel (ie. linemen), I might be more inclined to agree with you. Until we dedicate ourselves to a power run game between the tackles, as well as having the MAJORITY of our pass plays come from play action, the option game will continue to be relatively ineffective. I also believe we would need to run everything from under center. The offense they are trying to run now is a jack of all trades. I have serious doubts that Pelini and Co would ever commit to only a power run game with option and play action. They like their spread.
  2. LOL....you should be so proud that you are rivals with Minnesota. Says a lot about Wisconsin as an overall program. The college football world could give a crap about UW vs Minn.
  3. It's really amazing how well spoken and comfortable Carl is and how absolutely terrible Bo is when speaking in front of a crowd.
  4. I don't understand what the bid deal is with being a Husker football fan and a Creighton bball fan either. Im a fan of Nebraska Football and only Football. That does not mean I am a fan of all sports at Nebraska. I could give a crap about how the women's bowling team or even the women's volleyball team does. If they win....ok cool. If they lose....I don't care and I certainly don't feel depressed like if the football team lost. Im also a fan of Creighton Basketball and only Basketball. That does not mean I am a fan of all sports at Creighton. I could give a crap about how the men's soccer team or the men's baseball team does. If they win....ok cool. If they lose....I don't care and I certainly don't feel depressed like if the basketball team lost. The 2 sports I pay attention to closely are football and basketball. I have different favorite college teams for each. That being said...I generally want the other teams from Creighton and Nebraska to do well because they are the home town schools. That is no differently than how I would feel if UNO or UNK or Chadron were playing...I would want them to win their respective game cause it's good for the state of Nebraska. That being said....Go Jays and Go Huskers
  5. Suh has become a babbling idiot. Im ashamed that he played at Nebraska. Are you serious Suh? Trying to gain your balance? What a joke. Its one thing to play dirty, admit it and apologize for it....its entirely different when you try to deny it when it is SO blatantly obvious what you were doing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArSHVzqPsrw
  6. I know it's Brooks, but several other reporters have been hinting that something major - and terrible- is about to drop regarding the Second Mile charity Sandusky ran. Can you elaborate more on this? Curious what you have heard.
  7. CNN has live video of students rioting right now.
  8. PSU fans over at their Scout.com board are NOT happy at all. They are calling for the Board of Trustees to be voted out. They are calling for riots in town. Im really appalled that they are so upset that and shocked that Joe Pa was fired. The BOT did the right thing. This scandal is absolutely sick and Joe Pa got what he deserved. Penn State fans being very unreasonable.
  9. Easy now...don't forget, Bo is a savior around here.
  10. I know Ive been pretty critical of Bo and some players but you take it to a whole different level. You have started so many threads the last couple days that are basically the exact same thing. Give it a rest. There are plenty of threads already available for you to voice your opinion.
  11. The QB that played against NW is capable of winning a championship. I disagree. Taylor Martinez is one of the dumbest people I have ever seen in my life. He does not have the smarts to play qb at a high level, at least not proficiently. Taylor Martinez is also extremely selfish and cocky. He thinks he is so much better than everyone else when he really isn't. This translates into his ability to change and get better. Case in point, his throwing motion. Anybody with half a brain would realize that they need to change how they throw the ball, at the very least, work on their footwork. He has shown that he doesn't care if his motion is bad. The amount of selfishness he displays is beyond comprehension. The best example came against Northwestern this weekend. On one play Martinez had a run of roughly 15 yards. The very next play was a zone read play. There was a hole big enough to drive a car through and Rex would have ran for days. Instead of handing it off like he should have, Martinez pulls the ball and the play results in roughly a 5 yard loss. I believe we ended up punting on the drive. I don't get what people see in Martinez. He had a good game throwing the ball. 1 good game. The problem with Martinez is that he CAN NOT be consistent in the passing game, EVERYONE KNOWS THIS. On the running game he makes terrible reads all the time or is just selfish and keeps the ball. He also can't make anyone miss if his life depended on it. He is a straight line runner. Martinez might have a good passing game every now and then or break a big run every now and then but he can't be consistent enough to lead us to a Championship. I find it hard to believe that our results would be much different if we played ANY other qb on our roster. I guess we should fire Bo for starting the worst QB on the face of the Earth over our championship winning back-up QB... I think you're right Nobody said our back up was a championship winning qb. However, I think any one of our backups gives us the same, if not a better chance than TM. why are you telling us this? you should be lobbying TO, he would probably offer you a job, given all of your insights and irrefutable, fact-based facts. I'm not sure where I ever said this was fact. These are just my observations and feelings. I gave you a specific play in the game which backs up TM's selfishness. I have seen multiple examples in almost every game since he started playing. I'm not about to go dig up examples to prove someone differently on a freakin message board. My feelings about his intelligence is based on the nonsense that spews out of Martinez's mouth every time he opens it to speak. Everyone knows he is an inconsistent passer. I'm not sure what I wrote is all that bad or wrong...the truth hurts.

  13. Haters gotta hate. Im just tired of the sunshine pumpers who come in and accuse people of changing their feelings after wins and losses. This thread was created to try and prove that the people who were criticizing Martinez were wrong. Im just reiterating my feelings toward him.

Haha, sweet. They guy with 17 posts isn't going to acknowledge me. Whopdeedoo Im not even sure how what I posted is an example of arrogance. I don't think TM is good at qb...I don't see much arrogance in those feelings. Id love to see TM move to slot or somewhere where he could still get touches without having to make many decisions.

  16. I still believe Taylor should be benched. He is NOT going to lead us to a Championship. I would much rather see us go with someone who we think at least gives us a CHANCE at a Championship. This is my same feeling towards Bo. If he doesn't give us a CHANCE at a Championship (which IMO, he doesn't) then we should go in a different direction and find someone who we think does.
  17. Its actually pretty easy. You sign up for an account on HuskerBoard and you create a new topic, LOL.
  18. I find this amazing. One game, after having beat MSU and OSU. One game. MSU is not that sweet and we got extremely lucky against OSU. If Bauserman remains on the bench we lose that game. If we played OSU again today, we would lose big.
  19. Pelini's teams have taken on the identity of their coach. It is so obvious that this is why we come out flat so often. Pelini's temperament changes every minute. One day he is high as a kite, going 1000mph, screaming and kicking at the refs. The next day he is cool calm and collected, the nice Bo people have seen this year. Next he is sullen, depressed, and angry after a loss. His emotions are soooo up and down and up and down it is ridiculous. There is no consistency and that IMO, is exactly why this team plays the way they do and like what was pointed out above.
  20. I love people who rip on others and accuse them of thinking their "experts." Who do these people think they are, "experts"?
  21. Sounds like a bunch of excuses if you ask me.
  22. I guess what makes us SO superior (your words not mine) is that these same people were practically kissing Bo's feet last week. The Huskers were all that and a loaf of bread! If we would've won today no one would be saying a word about having Bo fired or what a 'mediocre coach' he is or how bad our team is. I wonder if the folks on the OU board made these same comments about Bob Stoops when Texas Tech beat them or the Tech fans when Tech went on the next week to lose to IOWA STATE for crying out loud! So if this makes me a dip$ hit then I'll take it. DIP$ HITS of the world UNITE!!! I highly doubt that the people who have been criticizing Bo and some of the players in the past were "kissing Bo's feet last week." Just because you didn't hear many negatives, doesn't mean people all of a sudden changed how they feel about Bo or Beck or Martinez or whatever. I also think that OU fans are in a little different situation than we are considering that they have a PROVEN head coach who has WON and taken them to numerous BCS Bowl games. Oh yeah...they've also won a National Championship under Stoops.
