  1. I used to frequent Eagle almost every weekend. Im traveling to much now, but 2 summers ago I had season tix. I love going out there. If im ever around on a friday night Im usually there.
  2. I was born and raised in NE but never knew that wild turkey thrived there. I guess I was too fixated on slaying pheasant. I have however, fired a hot 3 1/2 turkey load (unbeknownst to me at the time). Be sure you're prepared! Are the turkey located throughout the state? What is the best region to hunt them? I have already made plans to go here in KY this fall but I would love to set something up in NE for maybe next spring. If you have the appropriate shotgun, a 3 1/2 isnt going to knock your socks off. Some older models or cheaper benellis will however. Turkeys have BOOMED over the last 15-20 years. and Pheasants have been decimated. Turkeys are located almost everywhere now. All river systems, rolling hills, bluffs, Even out in western Neb if you have a block of woods and any type of water you can find turkeys.
  3. that is my fav. or you can go to chasertv website... or severestudios.com if things are getting crazy anytime, you can to to TVN or download their app and watch on your phone. a good tool to use to know where the most chasers are and have an idea of how bad it might be in your area. you get some great footage too. Ive watched several tornadoes live this year on this app. Including earlier this year north of Little rock, the Pilger tornado, wessington SD, and several other smaller ones in BFE. Highly recommended
  4. i usually use 5 or 6 shot 3 1/2 inch 12 gauge mags. Winchester has a great turkey load. If you do not have a shotgun capable of 3 1/2 (which can shoot accurately up to 50 yds) then get the 3inch mags. They will put them down quickly. If you make a good head shot they will flop around for a few minutes. Its similar to a chicken running around with its head cut off... its ok. they are not suffering
  5. More interesting stats when you add in the regionals and super regionals. In 2010 (prior to TDAP) the stats dropped from national average to regionals, to supers to CWS. Every year, all stats have been dropping from prior years even though the park hasn't changed since 2011. Just a couple weeks ago, the Big Ten tourney had 8 HRs over the span of 13 games. That is an average of .615 per game. NEWS FLASH: It's NOT the ball park. It's the pitching and the bat change that has made the bigger difference. I bet we see a big difference next year with the change in the balls. One can only hope. There was a discussion of changing the core and the seams... but now it sounds like the only change to the ball may be the seams only... so i guess we will see
  6. 12 gauge with a full choke is what I use. Fall is a bit more difficult... More spot and stalk type hunting. Since they do not breed they do not come to calls, or are less likely to. I try to get between the roost and where they feed in the mornings, and then get close to where they are consistently roosting for the evening. The rest of the day it is spot and stalk. They usually have 2 or 3 places they typically roost. If you are unsure where they are roosting, go out in the evening for a hunt and then you will see and hear where they roost. From there you can make an educated plan for setting up in the morning
  7. I'm not feeling too optimistic at this point. Hope I'm wrong.I don't think we should expect a down year, I will wait until we get closer to next season. I would like to see a good JUCO arm or 2 come in to help out. this team has talent but you take guys like PK out of a fairly inconsistent offense, you can expect things to be different. DOWN year... I dunno, it might be a rebuilding year. At this point I am not expecting them to be better than this year... DeLeon gone Sinclair says he might not stay, might be done with baseball all together possibly(rumored), Bublitz gone greco and Hirsch gone... thats the main staff from this season. There is a young nucleus of talent here. Pitching will be suspect until proven otherwise. tough to win conference titles and move on from there with a serious lack of pitching
  8. this team is getting raped... i mean scraped clean... BTW NO National seeds in the CWS.. wonder how long its been since that happened?
  9. syked! Seahawks going down!!! Sherman gets this years curse... #2015MaddenCover

  10. he pry is not projected as a catcher in the MLB. I certainly hope he comes but the last 5 years have shown that top 100 sign... 4% have not each year... small percentage... but a possibility. we can def hope for 5 weeks
  11. yep... 93rd... in the last 5 years only 20 top 100 picks have not signed...
  12. The fact that he resides in Florida for the tax break has to lead the Brewers to believe he will sign. He wouldnt make that commitment to move there without intending to sign
  13. just a few picks left tonight.... i thought the braves might take him they were at many of his games watching him...
  14. more people discussing in the Monte harrison recruiting page 4life
  15. Monte is the only undrafted player in the studio..... Sweating? Is he pounding water like Johnny did?
  16. he took up residence in Florida to get a tax break... does he really have any intention of coming....? There are so many good arms in this draft... maybe thats the reason he is falling?
  17. Harrison is there... he wouldnt have been invited if he wasnt going to go in the first 2 rounds... Thats my understanding. If he would fall to round 3... He might come to Neb. I dunno. Reetz was projected 2nd to 3rd round. If he falls to round 3 or later, he will more than likely be coming to Neb
  18. does KC take harrison and take another Husker Football/Baseball recruit?
  19. round 1 is over. Competitive balance round starts in a couple mins.. 1minute in between picks
  20. reetz will be 2nd round or later. Harrison should be any pick now
