  1. anyone else think Rozier came off sounding like an ass? seemed full of himself. -only comes back to lincoln for "paid speaking engagements" -favorite memory from playing days was heisman trophy, not winning as a team
  2. down at the ONE INCH LINE!!!! wtf BAD CALL!!!
  3. Ok I normally like Gary Thorne, but he is absolutely butchering our kids names. Sam Coke? Mario LuckY??? WTF do your homework

  8. We STIINK! admit it. those games we got lucky on that they were such cakewalks so early. Nebraska basketball is always that way. getcha goin for a while and then boom they start playin like Nebraska again. whatever. bring on some spring ball alredy!!

  10. I think Delbert is the name your lookin for Eric. Last I hurd BC wants to be sure he fits in. I guess hes waitin wit pen in hand for an offr. maybe a bit too eager? is he even any gud?
  11. Yah I saw that. Not much to speak of. Solich looks more and more like someone who has never had a public speaking class in his life. Not kickin him while hes down, just the facts. I dont think hes gotten worse, just think its more noticeable since hes been gone for so long now. I think we'll realize Coach Cal is so much better for the job after a while.
  12. How about a little Boston MA love!! Im keepin the Husker respect enforced out East. Respect!
  13. The more I read about this the more plausible it sounds. Why else would Pederson be waiting so long. Not just to name Bo the new coach, guaranteed. He wants to land a big fish. Spurrier would blow Husker nations minds, thats for sure. And as much as I dont like to admit it, I'd have to have a small gator grin on my face if in fact SP did land SS. B/C this would bring a lot of positive attention to NU, and make for some intriguing matchups, Stoops v. Spurrier?!! and others which would revitilize intrest in the Huskers for recruits, and hell, maybe even the press???!! I just wouldnt put it past Steve. Either one of em. bob
  14. spurrier has said repeatedly that he has no interest in NU. Does this mean nothing? he is a fair weather pansie and cant handle the cold. he likes golf and visors and throwing them on the ground when we beat the hell out of Florida in the 97 Fiesta bowl. plus his philosophies are like oil and water compared to Nebraska football. try again red.
  15. this is rubbish. no I havent heard of him. which is exactly why its not going to happen. try again.
  16. Just wanted to say congrats to the womens v-ball team for another great season. Yes we do care about other sports than just football, and definitely appreciate all of your hard work!! You have made us proud to be Huskers even when times are a bit shady in other parts of the Big Red forest!! Thanks!!!
  17. Yes when compared to teams who DO have national championships, there is not comparison. But yes, if you are comparing simply overall wins to determine conference dominance, of course you can look at the bottom line. But hey did you stop to look for a minute at head to head games? How many times has kstate beat OU? Just once right? I imagine we have only beaten them once also since the big 12 was formed, but we finally get a run at em again the next 2 yrs. Finally get a chance to truly measure ourselves against, yes, THE best in the big 12, OU.
  18. The Players had a players only meeting yesterday that lasted an hour and a half. They met because many of them are unhappy about the unresolved head coaching situation. The search has been carried out, as we all know, in virtual secrecy by one man, Steve Pederson. The players are frustrated at having no input. KETV channel 7 in Omaha broke the story on their late news last night. Players speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the team discussed the possibility of boycotting practice and or the Alamo Bowl. They discussed the possibility of holding their own press conference or writing an open letter to the media to express their concerns. The Lincoln Journal reported that the meeting ended abruptly when the players were unable to reach any unanimity on what to do. Players were said to have stormed out of the meeting amid a flurry of expletives. One player (according to the LJS) described the meeting as "very, very tense." Another player commented to the LJS saying, "We feel like we're completely left in the dark...There've been so many wounds opened, and everyone wants those wounds to close by hiring Coach Pelini." At least 20 players are reportedly considering leaving if Pelini is not named head coach. It may be those players who pushed for the meeting at this time. They are running out of time to transfer for the spring semester so they can be eligible at another school next fall. Pelini made a brief appearance at the players meeting, reminding them of the importance of being unified. The LJS also reported that the 5 Tallahassee recruits in over the weekend were impressed with Pelini. Joe Manning said the hiring of Pelini would "increase the chances for all five of us (to commit)." Pelini is in charge of recruiting northern Florida. Later in their late broadcast last night, KETV, in jest, visited an Omaha fortune teller to solve the mystery of NU's next head coach. The fortune teller had reportedly accurately predicted the 1997 National Title and some other sports related achievement which I can't recall. After viewing pictures of the known serious candidates for the job - she picked Turner Gill. Stating he was the best candidate and that he will do whatever it takes to get the job done in the right way. Noting that he was a Leo (I think) and that fact seemed to impress her. In other news, coach Solich is one of six finalists for the Cincinatti Bearcats job according to AD Bob Goin. Five Sooners were named to the AP All-American first team. NU's Josh Bullocks was named to the second team. NU's Volleyball team fell to UCLA last weekend to end another fine season by John Cook's gals. The mens basketball team beat Tennessee at home to move to 6-1 on the season. This article was written by Mike Osborne http://bestofbigred.com brb
