Yea the whole truth isn't out yet on Tuberville and will be telling when it is. Like most any other major program we have people with a lot of money that have WAY too much say in most anything that transpires in the athletic department, however I have not seen any other major program that doesn't have the same problem.

I don't see how you can be a fan of college sports and not pull for him? The more and more I read about him the more and more I am just truly impressed at the type of person he seems to be. What say ya'll about his time at Nebraska? This is too big of a board for there not to be a number of stories or things about him that the average joe wouldn't doesn't get to hear.

As is the case with any larger program hunting a coach nobody seems to know anything for sure. I do not claim to have any real "inside sources" like some so I will not sit here and claim I have a finger on the pulse. I will tell you the things I know. 1) I know Gill is a serious candidate for the position from the fan's position. 2) I know that almost every Auburn person I am in contact with likes the possibility of hiring him. There are no home run hires to be had this year and if you cannot hire a guaranteed home run you hire someone who has something impressive on their resume. I would contend that what he has done at a school like Buffalo proves that not only can he be a head coach he knows how to deal with problems. By all accounts he is a stand up individual to his players and that goes a LONG way in being successful anywhere. 3) Who the administration wants has been kept pretty quiet. The ones who say they know ie. the talking heads on ESPN, Paul Finebaum, and some others, are just spouting off what they think as well. I do not see how AU could not be putting VERY serious consideration toward Turner however as previously stated our current AD is this side of a poo flinging chimp so the possibility of him screwing this up is a solid 50/50. Just my .02.

The general belief down here is that Tuberville and his wife are having some difficulties and he did in fact step down in order to deal with that. If this is not the case I am sure it will come out. It always does. Our AD is a buffoon at best. I would look for Tuberville to be the AD in a year or two. Interesting. If true I have lost a lot of respect for my school.

I actually like Gill better myself. Something about his emotion and obvious love of his players no other candidates seem to have.

I'm not so concerned about Turner being good enough for AU; more like concerned AU not patient enough to endure some down years...... I actually think we are willing to. There are ways other than W/L record to see if the program is heading the right direction. Nobody is going to stand losing more than 3-4 years. Not us. Not ya'll. I would be VERY excited about a TG hire. He seems like class across the board and has a fire in the belly that I think will allow him to compete and excel. ANYONE who can do what he has done at Buffalo has got their act together.

I actually would have agreed with you had it been 5 or 6 years ago. I think the whole Little Rock dynamic has changed now though. War Memorial stadium (Little Rock) is outdated to say the least and with the added ease of getting to Fayetteville now, the place to be for a Hog game is Razorback stadium. IMO Plus with Fayetteville being in the foothills of the Ozarks it makes for some nice scenery.

I actually think we will keep some portions of it. I think Tuberville wants to get back to something closer to what we were running when Petrino was our OC. Arkansas used to split all their homes games up between Little Rock and Fayetteville because of the fan base being so spread out and razo0rback stadium in Fayetteville had a lot lower capacity than War Memorial (stadium in Little Rock) back during the old SWC days. That is no longer the case and there is a good interstate spur to get you back and forth to Fayetteville. They have begun weening Little Rock off the games.

I have a bunch of Arkansas buddies that are coming down for the game and one of them sent me this yesterday. I thought it was pretty funny.

I was at that game last year and the only black thing I remember are the two black eyes UGA gave us.

Their fans certainly seem to be in meltdown right now.

I hated to lose that one but our defense just couldn't hold them. Got to deal with a pissed off Tennessee now.

What game do you see as an upset this weekend. I think Arkansas beats the spread and maybe outright wins against Alabama.
