  1. I tell ya as an Auburn fan you are going to see a lot of bad stuff in all venues these days. I remember some when I was young going to games as well. One thing we have to remember is that like me, a lot of parents take their young children to experience the thrill of a big time college game. Sometimes when you sit near drunk college students, it's embarassing the language these students use in front of young kids. I agree, it's a football game. I have taught my kids how to boo opposing teams and the normal stuff. But to hear college students yell death threats, flat out cuss out opposing players and coaches is a bit out of line. I do expect that from LSU fans. LOL I never took my kids to Baton Rouge. lol I'm a pretty big guy and often think would they talk as tough if i could suit them up in pads and let them get their butts pounded by me. LOL I don;t think so. lol As a college student I drank too and partied. But I had the mindset to watch how I talked around kids especially at games. I am sure most do. Just a few bad apples really stand out in a crowd and give us all bad impressions. The main thing is have fun and yell your butt off for your team. And sure booooo the heck out of Auburn when we run on the field. It's all part of the game. We'll be booing them Cornhuskers as well. But in the end, we still respect the heck out of you guys. And don't want to see any player get injured from either team. They are just talented kids who represent their respective schools on a big stage for us to enjoy. WARRRRR EAGLE!!!!
  2. OMG you Nebraska fans are a lot like us Auburn fans. LOL We don't have any high regards for the ESPN crew either. In fact they came to Auburn once for Gameday this season and had to throw a few Auburn fans out of the crowd for showing anti espn posters. LOL!! The Gameday crew I am sure felt they were not very well liked. A lot of Auburn fans purposely did not show up for Gameday. The crew even said on the air it's quiet. LOL We saved our energy for the game that night and the stadium was loud from opening kickoff to the end. It was deafening the entire game. We pulled off the upset of Florida in which the ESPN experts said no way we'd win that game after losing to Arkansas. Some experts huh? USC was supposed to destroy UCLA and play Ohio St for the national title. Did you see their faces when USC lost? It was like a funeral at ESPN. Their beloved USC dynasty darlings lost!!!! I loved it. Thats why I have said that Nebraska and Auburn can beat each other. Throw the stats and this past season out the window. It's who shows up and plays to win, will win this game. Unfortunately for Auburn, it will be like a Nebraska home game. However playing in the SEC we are used to playing in very hostile enviroments. So what gives??? Who wants this one more than the other. It's not the stats or the results of this past season. WARRRRRR EAGLE!!!!!
  3. LOL!!! That is too funny. I agree with some of the comments. The sportsmanship I have seen so far from Auburn and Nebraska fans has been outstanding. Come game time, we'll be wanting to beat the crap out of each other. LOL! Hopefully after the game regardless who wins, we'll show the same sportsmanship that has been prevelant here. WARRRRRR EAGLE!!!!!!!!
  4. I'm not sure which Auburn team will show up. We have not played a complete game since the Wash St game. We have a butt load of talent on both sides of the ball. It's how our coaches prepare the team for this one that will make all the difference. This Nebraska team is hungry and needs to get that Identity back. I am not so sure Nebraska has more at stake than us in this one. Might give Nebraska the edge as far as who wants this one. I've seen Nebraska play in a few games this year. They are just a few plays away from being a way better team. If I had money on this game I would go with Nebraska. They just have too much riding on this one. I hope Auburn wins. But I think Nebraska wants and needs this one more. Will be a great game either way. I know some Auburn fans will question me. But heck we were supposed to beat a lowly team in Georgia at home too. LOL WARRRRRR EAGLE!!!!!!
  5. I like your coach. I think he is in it for the long haul. Heck at least you guys made it into the Big 12 Championship. You may have lost, but heck people recognized that Nebraska is on it's way back. Bill is doing a great job and needs to continue to expect the best of all the Huskers. I think it shows the great fans you are by backing this coach and sticking with him. Could be worse, look at Bama's program. LOL I couldn't resist that. LOL Even had a Bama person go into our forum telling us to respect them for their loss. LOL For years Bama pounded on us and Auburn was the joke of the state. Auburn jokes were passed around in churches as well as schools. The TIDE has turned. LOL The other way. Hahahaha!! When I am down on my Auburn Tigers I always think it could be worse and look at Bama. Anyways I think you guys are very close to gaining that respectabilty back. This bowl game is huge for both of our programs. WARRRRRR EAGLE!!!!
  6. Thank you HuskerJosh. I agree. Hard to find great fans that talk good football these days without trash talking. I do have a habit of going into opposing teams forums and talking it up. I do enjoy hearing things from the opposing side and their opinions. We might not agree on everything but thats ok. Mutual respect and the same love for our programs and the game is what it's all about. I don't even mind a little needling. Heck been needled to death during all of Bama's glory years. I am immune and learned to laugh it off. Good fun. Lets enjoy a fun Cotton Bowl. WARRRRRR EAGLE!!!
  7. I tell ya. I have to agree with many of you. This is like going cold turkey without college football this past weekend. I found myself helping my wife doing girly things which isn't me due to boredom. I helped bake cookies, watch my wife shop at all the girly shops while I just stood there looking goofy. Found time to flirt with the cashier while my wife was in the dressing room trying on clothes. But heck thats nothing to feel good about. She wasn't that cute. Just something to beat the boredom and to see if this old man could still make a woman smile. I still got it in me!! LOL I hate weekends without college football. LOL!!
  8. How about this reply to add to the conversation. Either team can beat the other. Who wants it more? WARRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!!!!!!!
  9. I hope no Husker coach is seeing this. LOL But if I were scouting my own team, pressuring Cox the entire game would be my game plan. He's not mobile and sometimes gets lost in this daze and has this weird glare in his eyes like he is in lala land. No question the boy is tough. He has taken a beating with his lack of an offensive line this year. ON defense, our defensive line is small but very quick as you guys might have seen from previous post from other AU fans. You guys are right though. Run the ball right at us up the gut. Seems to be where we are vulnerable. In my opinion though, if we do show up to play we are hard to stop. However if you jump on us early, we don't come from behind very well. The key for you is to jump on us quick like Arkansas and Georgia did and we seem to meltdown from there. Win or lose though, this will be fun and I'll post here after the game to go over details with you about the game. Glad to have made some new friends in this forum. I'm almost addicted. LOL WARRRRRR EAGLE!!!
  10. LOL!!! OMG how could you alairguard?? LOL YOu know you are favoring the Tigers more. Come on admit it. LOL!!!! Win win for you either way buddy!! Enjoy the Cotton Bowl! WARRRRRR EAGLE!!!!
  11. Someday there will be undefeated teams from about four major conferences that will create havoc on the system. Imagine USC, Nebraska, Auburn and Ohio St unbeaten at the end of a season. Do we need a playoff to determine the best team? Or let voters pick on their biased opinions? I know the chances of 4 conference champs being unbeaten in a season are slim. But it is possible it could happen. Two of these powerhouses would get the shaft in this current system. I'd rather something be in place or in the works in the event this happened. Most of the major media outlets, sports writers ect that vote come from the New York, Chicago and Los Angeles areas. Well we know who they will vote for. USC and Ohio St. The coaches poll is a joke. How many times do any of our coaches get to watch out of conference games in time to place their votes by the next morning? Think about it. Are there votes fair and well informed votes? I don't think so. And a lot of coaches will allow someone else to fill out their ballots for them because they are busy breaking down film of the game they just played. I know a lot of what I have said is far fetched. But it's possible it could happen. I just want the system to be fair across the board. There are more 2 loss teams that are better than Notre Dame that are not in the BCS. Is it fair Notre Dame is selected out of everyone to have an almost automatic BCS bid before the season even starts? In this case its about money. Notre Dame draws money. But are they deserving? See my point? Is it money or is it going to be fair? In closing, these are just my thoughts and concerns and actually I am not bitter at the system. I just hope the BCS people are thinking ahead of what might happen and stay a step ahead. WARRRR EAGLE!!!!!!
  12. I appreciate the kind comments ADC. I can reassure you if you get the opportunity to watch a game at Auburn, you'll be welcomed with open arms by the Auburn faithful. Most fans will go out of their way to ensure you are fed well and leave with a great memory of your visit there. The hospitality is second to none. Wear your Nebraska attire proudly at Jordan Hare even if Nebraska is not playing us. We have the upmost respect for your program and fans. Just don't wear LSU or Bama attire. LOL!!!!! J/k. My advice would be to ensure you contact some Auburn folks on the forums prior to your visit to Auburn so you'll get the full experience of our traditions in person when you arrive. You won't regret it I promise you. Again thanks for the compliments and I look forward to seeing you at the Cotton Bowl. Best of luck. WARRRRRRR EAGLE!!!!!
  13. LOL!!!! MBHUSKER you college football addict!!! Aren't we all buddy??? Can't get enough of it. LOL
  14. I have heard things like if there were a playoff system the regular season games wouldn't count. Well if all conferences have a conference championship game, the regular season games would count. Instead of a 12 game season, reduce it to a 10 game season before the conference championship game. Heck play 8 conference games and schedule two out of conference games that won't hurt you if you lose. Play the non conference games as tune ups at the first of the season prior to hitting your conference schedule. If teams have a winning season and don't get to play in the conference championship games, put them in a bowl game. That keeps the bowl system going. However let (ONLY) the conference champs duke it out in a minature playoff system.
  15. Here's my unbiased opinion coming from the SEC where we have that same type of conference championship. We don't have the opportunity to play everyone in our conference. In our conference we have the east/west divisions as you have the north/south. Imagine you didn't play a certain team from the south and you both were unbeaten at the end of the year. Who's the big 12 champ? Or if there were several one loss teams in both the north or south. Who's the champ? Without that playoff, the Big 12 champ is based on someone's opinions and votes instead of being determined on the field. We all know how biased that can be. The Big 10 got lucky this year without a playoff. Wisconsin had only one loss. They didn't play Ohio St. If they would have beaten Michigan, they would have been unbeaten too. I think if college football is going to be fair across the board. I think all conferences should be structured the same way to determine the conference champ. If you can't win your conference, you don't deserve to play for the national title. Media darling automatic preseason BCS bid Notre Dame? How do you figure them in being an independent? Force them into a conference maybe? I sure don't know. Boise St who went 12-0?? Sure we know they didn't play a tough schedule. But heck, they are in a BCS conference. If they are not going to be recognize for their season, don't allow that conference to be in the BCS. Every player, coach, school and fan should have to opportunity to win their way to the national title. And you don't lose that chance until you lose. If there is not going to be a playoff to determine the national champ. Just make it fair across the board for all teams and conferences. WARRRRR EAGLE!!!!!!!
  16. LOL!!! I tell ya us Auburn folks we don't have much love loss for the Bammers. LOL I am from a huge family divided by Auburn and Alabama fans. And it's fun to hear my Bama side of the family whine over this ordeal. Each year a member of my family host our annual Auburn vs Bama game. If it's a Bama home game, then a Bama member of the family host it and paints their yard like a football field with logos ect. And same for an Auburn home game. We wear the appropiate replica uniforms as well. It's the one time a year our whole family gets together as many of us have to travel across the country to attend. This is how serious we take the rivalry. I included a pic of our game a couple of weeks ago for you to enjoy. I'm the QB on the Auburn team. In my opinion, every coach that goes to Alabama has to live under the shadow of Bear Bryant. They haven't accepted he will not come back from the grave to coach again. WARRRRR EAGLE!!!!!
  17. I think the sportsmanship will be outstanding at this year's Cotton Bowl. Can you imagine how bright the stands will look with all that red and orange? Bring your shades folks!! I think a lot of friends will be made between the Nebraska and Auburn faithful over the coming weeks. I've seen a ton of mutual respect in all forums. If we do see any bad apples from either team, we'll drag them outside of the stadium and throw bottles at them. We can set up a bad apple jail outside. Hahahahaha!!! J/k. lol I think Nebraska fans are as excited to play us as we are them. SEC vs Big 12?? Got to love it. I am sure after this game, Auburn fans will watch Nebraska next season and root for them in the Big 12 conference. This bowl game will be a war. But at the same time we'll become friends and allies. Thats the kind of fans we are. What if Nebraska wins the Big 12 undefeated and we win the SEC unbeaten next year? Can you imagine us back in the forums yacking it up for the national title? I wouldn't complain. You Husker fans seem to be a class act. I've been to Texas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech stadiums and wasn't impressed. Hopefully in the future Auburn might take a trip to Lincoln so we can experience your traditions. WARRRRRR EAGLE!!!!
  18. I agree with Michael. I sure hope we give you a better game this time than the game you beat us 41-7 at Auburn. You guys are always welcomed in our forums. It's nice to chat with good fans like you that give us opinions from the other team. Thats what this is all about. Good fun and chat. I've really enjoyed posting here the last couple if days. Thanks again for the hospitality. WARRRRRR EAGLE!!!!
  19. I attended Auburn and for a fact know we have had a few bad apples in our stands. However most teams do have a few bad apples in their stands. I wouldn't judge the whole fan base based on a few bad apples. I am sure you get drinks in some college students, some can't handle the liquor and make arses out of themselves. I have been in most major NFL and college venues and see maniacs in all of them. Unfortunately we have no way of screening these type of people as they enter the stadiums. I am sorry for the bad experience your family suffered in the past. Please don't think all our fans are like that. Most non-conference visitors that come to Jordan Hare Stadium gloat about there experience in the deep south. Complimenting on the good ole southern hospitality, great bbq and the southern gals with accents. LOL There hasn't been one stadium I have walked in as a visitor NFL or College where someone wouldn't yell some obscene gesture at me while I was with my young kids. Flip me a finger and tell me and my kids to go to hell. LOL Embarassing yes. But for most, the fans of the home team overall were welcoming. I am sure If I were to walk around your stadium and mingle amongst your fans wearing my orange and blue someone would say something that would be considered out of line as far as good sportsmanship. It happens everywhere. But 99% of Husker fans like Auburn fans would say welcome. Heck we have Nebraska fans in our forums eating us alive. LOL Lets just say these bad apples are everywhere. LOL Anyways I am glad we get to play you guys and look forward to seeing you at the Cotton Bowl. Best of luck. Teddy
  20. We haven't really blown out any decent team this year. I expect it will be close if we win. Or if we lay an egg like we did against a far less talented team in Georgia, Nebraska might take us out back for a whippin. I have no idea which Auburn team will show up. I am sure Nebraska is in the same boat. We are all in the wait and see it mode. This game is huge for both programs even though it's the Cotton Bowl. I can't believe I just said that. A few national champs and some great games have come out of that ole Cotton Bowl way back when. Should be a fun one regardless. WARRRRRR EAGLE!!!!!!!
  21. A lot of people are confused about us being the Tigers and why we yell warrrrrr eagle!!! I wished you guys could witness the eagle flying around the stadium when 80,000+ are yelling warrrrrrrr eagle and then lands at midfield!!! Brings chills down my spine everytime I see that. That is why I love college football so much. The traditions and history from all the colleges. I'm sure you guys have your very own sacred traditions as well. I'm impressed you've asked why and researched our tradition. Shows the type of fans you are. I'm impressed. I don't know many Cornhusker fans, but what I've seen in here I have respect for. I just hope the game is as impressive.
  22. LOL!!! As an Auburn fan I have been waiting for Auburn to bring their A game since the Washington St game. I'm not sure which Auburn team will show up. Hopefully we'll get some injuries healed up where we can give you guys a great game. I'm expecting a tough fired up Cornhusker team ready to play an SEC opponent. Nice change of scenery too. I know it's an early morning game. Not to sound biased, but I do believe there will be a lot of interest in our game besides just the fans of these two great teams. I can't wait. And thanks for the warm welcome. I am excited to be here. I've been reading your board and appreciate all the nice things said to us Auburn fans. The respect is mutual for you. WARRRRRR EAGLE!!!!!
  23. Heyyyyyyyy Cornhuskers!!!!!!! WarTeddy here as an Auburn fan. I just wanted to drop in and say I am very excited we get to play you in the Cotton Bowl. History shows you have beaten us all three times we've played. I hope we change that this year. LOL I think it's a great matchup. From what I have seen from your program, you guys are on the rise again. Great job this year and best of luck in the Cotton Bowl. I look forward to chatting it up here with you in the coming weeks. Should be a blast! WARRRRRR EAGLE!!!!!!!
