  1. Wonderful analysis. I mean I can see the well thought out rationale behind it all. That part about BC cant compete with a team that is more talented no to mention their track star RB was inspired, sir. Bravo. Give me a damn break. Texas looks like a fourth string girlscout troop right now, and we beat their asses last year before Terrance Nunn (a.k.a. Little Fumble) fum-dumbled the ball all over the damn turf. I expect nothing less than a two touchdown win at Texas, and as for Mizzery, their defense is even more horrid than ours. This game is our toughest test this season by FAR. To write off these chump opponents based on the performance of Carroll's SC squad is like losing to God in a chess match and then saying that the kid down the street with cerebral paulsy is going to whip your ass. I'd be careful about writing checks that this team can't cash. You cop an attitude like that and I WILL throw it right back in your face when you're wrong. Have you SEEN Texas play lately? If they play like that have against us, I don't think it's an unfair thing to expect. Look, look, I know you hate this team, hate Callahan, hate Nebraska, hate America, hate capitalism and are generally bleak about the future of mankind, but buddy, I don't need you to be around to throw anything in my face. All you do around here is bitch and whine about every damn thing that happens, win or lose, and frankly I'm sick of it. What I would like for you to do is f#*k off. Go to a friggin KSUcks board or something.

  3. Ooooh that sounds juicy. Yeah, please, if you're not going to tell us what it is, then keep your damn mouth shut.
  4. Its been passed time for this since 2004. And he can take the Head Coach with him for all I care. I just get sick and tired of the no talent excuse. We have talent, enough to play with a team like USC, especially at home. Its COACHED HORRIBLY. Seems like our guys on both sides of ithe ball are trying to read things so much, that by the time they see the damn thing, its past them. I just cannot believe we gave this cat an extension. I knew from day one we screwed up, and we adding years to his contract? Bad bad management!! If we go on to have a 10-11 win season, it'll be okay. I don't want to read TOO much into a whipping by the number 1 team in the nation. A BCS appearance is not out of the question. I won't say we'll win, but it is still within reach. If this season goes down the drain, though, like last year, I will seriously be wondering about whether or not Callahan is the guy for the job anymore.
  5. Well, circumstances were funny. We had two defenisve lineman who would go pro anchoring the D-line. We couldn't afford to get the younger guys in because we were so dependent upon these guys to keep us in games while we transitioned from the option to the WCO. Now that we've finally got an offense (sans the running game) to be proud of, we lose all our defensive front, and play against a deep and experienced O-line out of SoCal. Our D-line will be a force next year when they've got all the experience and a whole ream of depth behind them, but my problem more is that we'll lose our LB corps and we'll be bitching about THAT instead. When, if ever, are we going to get a complete team in these parts? We lose Keller, our LBs, several wideouts, etc. What do we do then?
  6. Yeah, that's what I said in my Recap post. Except I'd take it a step further. I'd hand out Pinkshirts instead, as that more accurately embodies their athletic ability and general drive.
  7. maybe the stadium wouldn't be empty at the end if WE DIDN"T GET OUR ASSES KICKED!!!! Maybe it wouldnt be empty at the end if it werent half filled with fairwather fans. :asshat I wouldn't go that far, man. Just because fans can't stand that nauseating feeling of watching Cosgrove's black skirts play defense doesn't make them fairweather. I love the Huskers, but I'd rather duck out early and avoid the traffic than sit there and watch that so-called 'defense' play 'football.'
  8. Sadly I'm kind of getting used to it. I'm a new generation of Husker who doesn't have much connection with coach Osbourne. But I still admire the past and hope for a return to our tradition. The game has changed but my standards are traditional Husker standards. I think we need to have a whole lotta winning going on this season to make up for this debacle. But yes, let's move on. I don't want to dwell on a kissass team like USC any longer than I have to.
  9. B)--> QUOTE(Husker B @ Sep 15 2007, 11:55 PM) 214324[/snapback] We could all be Notre Dame fans. Put this into perspective. We played well for most of the 1st half. We showed we can hang with them. If either fumble on special teams comes to us, we most likely go into halftime ahead. Come on now, we're coming into Big 12 play as a very strong team, and the rest of the season should be excellent. Put this behind us and push on towards the fun part of the season. But what does it matter if we play really well just to get creamed by Oklahoma and SC and LSU? This "day by day" mantra is real and a part of the game, but I'm getting damn tired of waiting for this "signature win." With Texas stinking it up in the South, our only real shot is going to come maybe in the Big XII champ game––which looks hopeless after tonight. We're Nebraska, not Mizzery or KSUcks or sCUm. We want National Championships. When, anyone, do you think we can seriously contemplate these? Because SC is just kicking ass, man, on and off the field.
  10. This whole Solich thing is as dead as our defense tonight. Who gives a sh#t what some clowns say? They want to offer the job to Solich, well start a petition. Hell, I'll even sign it just to shut them up. What we need to focus on is what the hell happened on D tonight. Keller is looking okay-ish, against SC's fifth string, anyway, and Cosgrove can't stop those tricky up the middle runs. I feel like bloody Florida must have in 95.
  11. I wish I could harbor that kind of optimism tonight, but I think it was more the 5th string of USC than the attitude of our atrocious athletes embarassing themselves all over the field tonight.
  12. Their nails weren't dry so, well, I guess it's understandable. You spend all that time and then it just rubs off on some guy's jersey.
  13. legit Nebraska team? Yes, they got schooled tonight, but those players played their asses off. And you call them not legit. Shame on you. Our defense played like chicken sh#ts all night. Don't give me that crap. They're no more blackshirts than a fairy princess planting flowers in a magical wood. Makes me sick. These imposters should put on stiletto heels and expensive perfume while they watch RBs blow past them. Maybe if we're lucky they'll stick out an arm and try to closeline a 200 lb RB.
  14. You can't hang Cosgrove on Callahan. The man was in the Pros and from what I hear was damn good. But I worship at the Church of what's Happening Now. He has proven over and over he can't adjust. The simplest ploys put his head in the toilet, and he can't even teach our guys how to TACKLE. I can't get over that last one; it really is the whole problem. Asante––turned into a fu-cking joke. Can't tackle. LBs. Can't tackle. If you can't do the most fundamental element of a contact sport, nothing else matters.
  15. I'm not sold on that yet. The black skirts will have to learn how to play the game of football. At this point I'm hoping to pull out of this season with a 9-10 win season, with a north champ and a good bowl game to boost recruiting. But people, we've gotta look at the big picture. We don't want Big XII championships. We want National Championships. This game was not progress. This was a step backwards. That, I think, scares me the most.
  16. Pal, we got beat, okay. What more do you want?
  17. I NEVER said the season was over. But it doesn't mean sh#t to win the North and you know it. So what if we smack Mizzery around? We're going to run all over them because their D-line is even more atrociocious than ours, but when we step out on the field against Oklahoma (probably*), it could get nasty again. And that's not the mark of improvement. I preferred last year's game at SC to this one. At least we didn't get flat embarrassed on our own turf and in front of our own fans.
  18. As pissed as I am that was an excellent post. Way to represent! GBR! Even after a beating like that, I hope we remember who we are. Tom didn't teach us to be anything less.
  19. We lost the game. But you sir, will never know what it is to be a Husker. You have just proved exactly why we are the greatest fans in the world, and you are nothing. In this we have always won, and will never lose. Your team will fall, next week, in a month, or a decade from now. But when you do, we will be left with our fanbase, while you will still be the classless individual you've demonstrated yourself to be. I love my team when they lose, and I love them when they win. And I applaud your victory tonight. The Trojans played like champions. They were amazing. I hope that my Huskers will be like them one day here soon. Congratulations on your victory.
  20. I usually don't like to write these in the heat of the moment. I know the game's not even over, but I need something to do while I sit here feeling the agony creep in. I love the Huskers, and it hurts like hell to watch them be humiliated by a cocky, undeserving bunch of entitled pricks, but such is life. One day we might be a team that can play with these a$$hole$, but clearly this is not our night. After this beating––and this hurts more than anything, I think––I would seriously like to listen to the arguments from the anti-Callahan crowd. If the Huskers had lost by a touchdown, I wouldn't care what they had to say. But this beating is simply unacceptable. We have talent on the field, but the playcalling, the execution and the most basic fundamentals on defense are beyond horrible. If you can't teach players how to tackle, then what the f#*k good are you? NOTHING ELSE MATTERS IF YOU CAN'T TACKLE THE BALL CARRIER. And our offense. Holy sh#t. What can you even say? Two good drives do not override the horrendous execution for the rest of the game. But I don't really want to talk about the offense. They're not even worth mentioning. Our defense really is the only thing that we need to talk about. This was a joke. They do not deserve their blackshirts. Again, it kills me to say these things. I want to see them do well. But this line is so atrocious, so pathetic, so unbelievably worthless that Tom Osborne's heart is slowing down even as we speak. They might as well not even play. We'd be better off just letting the other team get the TD, then have Keller go out and try to score on every drive and go for 2 at the end of the game. Our O-line: I really wish I hadn't gotten my hopes up after Nevada. Keller was knocked around all night, and our running game, I forget what it looks like but I looked up the words in the dictionary, was inept as an old man's wang. This whole performance just sickens me. Literally I mean. My body is rejecting, my atoms cannot tolerate, the worthlessness of the team I hold so dear. I really don't know what it's going to take, but I think we can all agree (and if you don't you're an absolute fool) that the "Restore the Order" campaign is officially on Holiday. We are so far from championship contender level, so completely incapable of competing with the LSUs, USCs, and Oklahomas of the world that only a miracle at this point can get us to that level. Keller hasn't panned out. The O-line is vastly overrated. Lucky has proven he's just as worthless as last season. Running the ball on a nobody (like USC did to us tonight) is about as valuable as an old dry turd. The Bix XII is out of reach. We'll win the north, I'm sure, but I kind of chuckle and cry at the same time when I think of what the Sooners will do when they face us this December. If I were the coach, the first thing I would do is strip every defensive player, particularly the lineman, of their blackshirts. There haven't been blackshirts since the late nineties playing football in memorial stadium. This defense is simply the epitome of the slide. If I were Callahan, after I had hurled Cosgrove out on his ass for not teaching proper tackling, I would demand that all 14-15 players at once take them off, fold them up, and I'd put them in a lock box in my office. I would then hand them new jerseys. These would be pinkshirts, a color I think we can all agree more adequately describes the state of affairs. The pinkshirts would then have the opportunitly to throw off their shame and humiliation by playing the game of football, and that starts with tackling. Missed tackles automatically delay this process another week. I would open practices to the media, so everyone in the state and nation could see the new and deproved pinkshirts. No reason to try and keep it a secret; after tonight the whole nation knows our defense sucks. But I must say to the SC fans, you guys played a great game. You deserve this victory completely, and I applaud and commend your effort. That said, I hate your team, your coach, your arrogant media, and I preemtively hate the lashing we're going to get after this shameful warmup game. But you guys played well. Good news is you'll lose later on, but for tonight, celebrate as we cheer as the winners go by. Go big red. Where, I have no idea.
  21. Give me a fu-cking break. This game is over and we'll be lucky––DAMN LUCKY––if they don't put up sixty points on us. WE HAVE NO DEFENSE AND OUR QUARTERBACK CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RED AND WHITE.
  22. I do believe and have believed that Cosgrove should be fired for the last couple years. This is simply more proof. They are toying with the Huskers and we have no answer for them. f#*k the recruiting. If you can't f'ing tackle a goddam RB with 7 guys in the box then you don't deserve to have recruits even consider you. What a crock this D is.
  23. Tell you what, here's what the boys need to do. Get out there and have some fun with this game. There's nothing to lose here. Play hard, play smart, don't worry about making the big play every time. Small victories, one by one. Take chances, throw it deep. Run the ball when you can. If we lose, ah well, but I don't think we will. Our D-line is going to come out and play football. They're going to correct what needs to be fixed, and then we're going to start marching down the field with our snappy QB Sam Keller. Damn, you better believe it.
  24. Games' not out of reach by a long shot. We just need to get ourselves motivated on D and start tearing it up on offense. Else it's over, and I mean OVER.
