I heard from my best friend, who is a receiver today. He ranted on about Sam and said that he wasn't feeling him that much. He said that he has a horrible release and he's really tough to read. Apparently a lot of the receivers are having trouble getting on the same page as him.

More than likely, Guy Morriss will not return as the head coach next year and his contract will be bought out. He has one more season left, but the Baylor B.O.R is not happy. Baylor is controlled by alumni and Friends Of Baylor, so they have a ridiculous amount of influence. Friends Of Baylor has been pushing to give the job to Mike Singletary for YEARS...and I heard from an insider in the athletic department that the talks have taken place and that Singletary at Baylor is basically a "done deal". Another gentlemen with influence who posts on BaylorFans.com (the Baylor fan site that's basically run by Friends Of Baylor): "heard this a few weeks ago and it was confirmed this weekend: A small but influential group of BU regents, with a few select alums, will name the next football coach at baylor. the morriss era is over -- he knows it (that's why 3 assistant coaches bailed out on him). this group is not about to let lilley get involved in this decision. he is viewed as a short timer who would rather go to a baylor symphony than a baylor football game. they don't trust the a.d. on this one, either. -- too big of a decison. they are determined to bring the glory days of baylor football back, and mike singletary is their first choice. he was approaced about the job several months ago and he is very interested for several reasons. first, he has 7 kids, and the chance to get them a baylor education appeals to him, also to get back in texas. this group is also trying to get another former bu legend involved in all of this, but that is another story. bottom line -- this group will select the next coach, not a search committee or the a.d. the person who told me this is a former bu regent who has been involved with the for school decades. he has never been wrong on things like this. he has some serious doubts about this, mainly because singletary has zero head coaching experience. but the job is singletary's to turn down. egos are running the baylor asylum these days." Another insider heard this from another member of the athletic department. There's a 99.9% chance that Singletary is in next season.

It was bad, folks. Really bad. And it's not even that sCUm is good! That's the sad part! I was in attendance in my Husker gear. Met another guy in a Husker jersey and we chatted it up for most of the first half about Husker football. Anything to distract me from the atrocity known as the Baylor Bears. As many of you know, I am a Baylor fan so yea. I have Baylor roots. Good news coming from Baylor though...mostly from insiders. No official source. I'll post up the news in here in a sec.

I don't understand the name-calling that occurs on these subjects. I have been to multiple stadiums and you always get some ribbing. When you wear your colors, as I always do, I kind of expect it. Mike Singletary will not come to NU. He'll be the head coach at Baylor next season. If it's not Baylor, then he won't come to the college ranks. He's already been interviewed and will have a job in the NFL set up if the Baylor opening doesn't come through. I heard from an insider this weekend though that Morriss' contract will be bought out and that the talks between BU and Singletary have taken place. He stated that it was a "done deal".

No way he resigns, I'll tell ya that much. Too much money to leave behind and he really likes being at NU.

Don't get me wrong. I'm still not on the "fire Cally" train yet. I've spoken with my best friend who plays on the team and he says that all the guys are still behind him 100%. It was their performance that was embarrassing and they should be the ones to blame, not the coaches.
