  1. Thank you for saying that. I don't think he has any sort of vendetta against Nebraska either. I know we will get fired upon for saying that, but I just don't see it. He did whine like a little girl when they were doing the best of the best, but other than that he hasn't been out to get us. I would say Mark May has more distain towards nebraska than Herbstreit. Well May is definetly first but Herbstreit is a very close second. may is total anti NU, thanks to Trev.
  2. I agree w/ you about injuries. But this season he will be handling most of the carries, if he can in fact stay healthy, and I really think that if he is successfull then his confidence will continue to build. He is a very important aspect in getting our running game well, up and running, if I may. He has shown great ability to break into the secondary. Also you never know if one of the backs lower on the depth chart will emerge. Jackson was third string @ the start of last season. But I have plenty of faith in our North Hollywood boy! I don't know...it's just that nothing he has done has made me say 'wow'. He just seems like a back that's a little above par for NCAA and don't think he'll ever do much (if he even goes) pro. He's injury prone, afraid to run at holes, isn't really all that quick compared to some other backs in the game, and my number one biggest gripe...he goes down fast...doesn't break too many tackles. the potiential is great when i think about our offense, added depth, a couple guys on the offensive line getting a look at honors. a five star QB (in my eyes) a five star running back, recievers getting national recognition. (well) things look good. Keller is very demanding at the QB position, does not allow much slack in pass running routes and or pass blocking slip ups. I live down here in Tempe, spend time working out with ASU players at 24 hr fitness next to campus (where the cheer squad and dance teams practice ) I have talked to some of the players about Sam, especially if i wear HUSKER gear, Sam is a very buisnesslike student of the game and very agressive. does not fear anything (Taylor) and takes no sh*@% from anyone. comes off as arrogant and self absorbed. Sam is a gun slinger and is very much dependent on a running game to open up his offense, which is BOMBS AWAY!!!!!!!!!! his accuracy is freaky, the bigger the game, the better he is. please do not interpret HUSKER success as anything BC has done this year, Sam will be making the final decisions at the line of scrimmage. hopefully the kids in waiting will learn as much as they can from him, and apply what they learn in seasons to come. GO BIG RED
  3. You cannot be serious. BJAX was our best back healthy or not. Lucky has not lived up to his 5 star hype since coming to NU. He shakes the first tackler and that's it. He's good for 1 cut while BJax would take the ball and make 3,4, and 5 guys miss. That writing on the wall that you speak of was an NFL contract and that's why BJ left. If he would of stayed, he would of been starting this year and Nebraska would be in the hunt for an NC. oh heck yes BJAX was light years ahead of Lucky, with BJAX back in the line up Lucky would be in north carolina and NU would be the north favs and possible top 10 ranking. BJAX had glimpses of LP in his ability. what we dont know is the seriuosness of the hospitalization incident Lucky suffered and the events leading to it. anyone clear on that?

  5. I think Cody Glenn is due for a big year, he doesnt get nearly enough credit for his speed how agile he is, hes not just some big lumbering guy like Javorskie Lane. Heres to Glenn and a 1,000 yard season. AMEN
  6. i know huh? give the young D line a chance to grow. the secondary is a major concern. i would feel better having Green a corner.
  7. Will we need to out score or rely on ball control and time of possession?
  8. i hope im wrong to, the buzz is he doesnt appeal to the inside run as well as jackson thrived on it, hence Jackson commanded the respect of the O line and they pounded for him. most of the preassure this season is going to be on Lucky. we need a solid inside running game. and im hoping Lawson breaks through.
  9. ya, he does look good.
  10. Good questions. Although not completely healed, Glenn is running without a hitch for the first time in a while. Lucky is 100% and should get the brunt. I think Glenn can play a very big role if he can stay healthy. If not, we will see some youngsters get Lucky a breather or mop up duty. Hope that helps. Alright!!! This is music to my ears. Where did you hear this? Need I say more? thanks 4 the highlights... our running backs coach is the BOMB! visions of D'Angelo before the bug forced him to break everything outside. everyone puts enormous preassure on Keller but in reality Lucky is the key to success this year.
  11. darveaux may have touched on the very reason i started this post. I sense a little D'Angelo out of Lucky....afraid to run inside....injuries, he didnt get out of the spring game without getting hurt. and according to Bill there is no solid fullback stepping up as yet. now that may be a coaching tatic to raise intensity at that position, but honestly we have no exp at the running back pos. and or DBs but thats another post.
  12. other than Marlon, how healthy are the other backs and what role will Mendoza play early?
  13. Thank you for the clarification. It was in response to a variance in the conversation by Junior. oh, i thought the convo was about the equal time QBs in lincoln are spending with the first unit. my bad. But does that even matter in regards to the conversation? rock on dude
  14. the 1997 huskers would demolish OSU....the 95 husker team is untouchable...the greatest college football team ever to snap a football.
  15. Thank you for the clarification. It was in response to a variance in the conversation by Junior. oh, i thought the convo was about the equal time QBs in lincoln are spending with the first unit. my bad.
  16. excellent response......the mid 90s is proof of that.
  17. QBs and RBs are two completely different players.
  18. I live down here in Tempe, went to the ASU/LSU game when keller had an ubelieveable ammount of preassure on him to dismantle the bo pleini defense. LSU was favored and a very talented national power. keller dismantled them. had not been for a couple mistakes and a light ASU defense, ASU could have easily won that game. Keller is the real deal, he thrives on preassure. technically he should be a high draft pro QB as of now, learning the raiders or detroits offense. fortunately he is not, and thankfully he is in lincoln where a bunch of starving lunatics are waiting for the order to be restored.

Your referring to "us husker fans" as if you aren't part of "this fanbase" and I may speak for a few people when I say that the whole "Pelini for HC" was a heat of the moment passion, and not of rational thought. I think he just gave away that he is a troll................ bring it dufus

I understand.....Tom was asked if he would be intrested in coaching at NU after frank was fired, he also mentioned the offense would change. he was no longer looked upon as a HC candidate. Pederson, with time running out, jumped to the Callahan decision because he was the best choice at the time. mind you callahan was only a HC for 2 yrs at oakland, and the oakland team that went to the superbowl was the team jon gruden developed. callahan merely played "bobby bowden". his 2nd season began the destruction of the raiders we know now. nobody was blowing up bills phone after he was released from the raiders, how could bill turn down the NU position? he has a family to care for. im convinced through remarks made by bill and people around him, prior to being at NU, his dreams are in the NFL. now we are back to Tom R. who was going to change the NU offense to the west coast when he was asked to coach NU in the early days of our new coach search. I have nothing against callahan, i wish him the best of luck. through rumor mills around the NFL i dont see his future in NU. i see it in cleveland. and i feel we need to be prepared for the next HC departure. understand anyone following a legend "T.O" was not going to be very good, even with the option. Tom Osborne had legendary status in a young offensive linemans home. Rathman can command respect as well.

no, players need to learn the system and adjust to speed....by the time a player gets to the NFL 90% are good enough to be there and development is more tweeking than anything. Tom dont have to coach the QB or linebackers, he could play the role bowden plays in florida. read what you are saying and truly claim Rathman as a non candidate.
