  2. This is the crux of the argument right here. It needs to be equal footing across the board. But it's not. We're in a weird space of super teams and a hyper focus on the playoff (thanks ESPN). The narrative is being pushed before the season even starts (the "who's in" segments) that's setting these teams up for the playoff, and diminishing the regular season. And the ratings for the playoff reflect this.
  3. Winning the division is the tie breaker. It's an achievement that you have control over, and if you don't clear that hurdle, you have nobody else to blame.
  4. Well then. Shut it down boys. No need to play the season.
  5. The better example is if an 12-4 NFL divisional winner didn't get in the playoffs so that a 12-4 divisional runner up can go instead because they won it last year. The term"best" is subjective when you're not on equal terms.
  6. We didn't deserve to get in, I knew we'd get crushed. So, yes.
  7. The biggest problem with the CFP, it's a moving target week to week with the committee. So, like I said, I ain't wrong. It's easier to win when you're given more chances because the criteria is adjusted to ensure your participation.
  8. Yup. The playoff is here because 'Bama got in the BCS title game in 2011, after finishing 2nd in their division.
  9. No, you're saying they were favored on paper and the games dont matter.
  10. New England was better than the Giants in 2007 because they had won all their previous games. We should give them the trophy and crown them the GOATS.
  11. Exactly. When you finish 3rd in your conference, you shouldn't get in over teams that have the same number of wins/losses AND won their conference.
