i'd say he's more of a cocky son-of-a-bitch, but that's just me. would agree with everything stated EXCEPT the 'mentally unbalanced'-part. pelini had fire and showed his emotion. there's no sin in that. agreed. pelini wants his own program. bad. REAL BAD. his family has got to know that by now. pelini will go to florida if offered the chance and he'll have stoops' blessing. bob's no dummy and he's bo's friend. does that make bo look opportunistic? hell yah. but the guy's got drive and goals. more power to him.

yah, cause that's how you *really* motivate a bunch of kids who are seeing tough times: by calling them a bunch of worthless losers who can't play his game of football. maybe callahan could go the extra mile and say some bad things about daily's mother? and if joe's got dog, maybe he can kick it around a bit, too? that'll really get joe outta his funk. look, i know losing is hard. for as long as i've lived, nebraska hasn't known a losing season. but dammit, things change and sometimes changes are hard. do i want to see the huskers lose? no. but am i willing to give callahan and company a chance in hopes of seeing nebraska return to their position as rightful rulers of the big 12? oh, hell yah. it's just gonna take time, people. keep the faith.

maybe so or maybe no. callahan had his preference (cosgrove), but what did Pelini when he left nebraska? he went to OU to do the exact same job he was doing at nebraska. if callahan wanted pelini, he might have convinced him to say. but that's if pelini really WANTED to stay. the way pelini told it earlier this year, pederson didn't seem too serious about pelini's interview. even if callahan offered to keep pelini on, pelini still might have bolted. but it's all a moot point anyhow. pelini wants to be a head coach: he's made no secret about that. i don't see him spending any more that three years with the Sooners before he gets his own program.

We are not number two in the nation against the run just because of Rudd. Other people are doing their jobs. Maybe Seivers and Bradley are not making a lot of tackles but they are taking up blockers so that Rudd can get to the ball carrier. That is a big part in our defensive scheme. We do not try to get the ball carrier behind the line every play. We try to consume all blockers at the line and then limit what ever gain the running back can get by himself. That is why we do not give up many big runs. It is a team game and our defense is one of the best at playing as a team. Don't give us to much credit yet. Have you looked at the teams we have played? Have you looked at the running backs we have played? Can you even name one of them? Every offense we have played and every team hasn't been a running team. That is why we are doing so well against the run. If we shut down peterson, sproles, brad smith, etc rushing then we have something. We may not have shut down a big name back yet, but we have done a great job against the people that we have played. Hell two years ago, we turned everyone that we played against into a big name back (Johnson, Bell, Wallace). This year, we are shutting down the backs that everyone knows that we should. Do not down grade this defense because their opponents suck. I wouldn't compare those backs to the one's we faced or the teams we have faced. Also, then we had craig bohl. We also had better linebackers back then compared to what you call a weak group right now. My point is, our defense plays as a team and has done a great job, compared to when we had really good athletes two years ago and sucked it up. i got nothing. i just wanted to sees how many quoted quotes i could get into one post.

joe dailey is making a bunch of sophomore mistakes right now because, well... HE'S A SOPHOMORE..! after three games, i'm not willing to grab my pitchfork and join the angry mob's tailgate party outside of Memorial Statdium. at least, not yet. ask me in three or four years when or if this whole West Coast thing blows up. he'll mature. and if he doesn't.... well, it'll be a very long season and just chalk it up to a lesson learned.

the only stat that i'm concerned with is the 6 turnovers. didn't see or hear the game, so i really can't place it in context. but i know 6 turnovers will kill us in a game with OU or Texas. nice rushing yards, tho. guess the run game isn't dead AFTER all.

it sounds like coach frank is touring a bunch of schools and taking notes. according to the news i read over on huskerpedia, solich is trying to re-invent himself. Solich Plans to Stay in the Game his goal is to be back in the saddle again come 2k5. and considering his record before he was 'let go' in lincoln, i'm thinking that's a definate probablity.
