  1. I am trying to decide if that was the best $30 dollars I spent or the worst $30 I spent. I like to watch high scoring games, but, I do not need to have a Heart Attack while watching. Damn fingernails are gone now.
  2. Yeah I'd be pissed too and cursing out my O line and defense after two crap games in a row. Good, I hope he is pissed. We need a f%&k**** leader on this team. Our captins are not doing sh** to get the point across how bad they are playing or look to Husker nation.
  3. I am sorry guys and gals, but NO WAY IN HELL we win the North with the defense we have. We might end up 4-5 in the Big 12 but, I do not see anyway we finish any higher than that. Positive note, our offense looks pretty damn good at times.
  4. I know that it does not matter, but you can kiss the Top 25 good bye win or lose.
  5. Let's just hope when it comes down to the end of the game that we have the football. I do believe who has the ball last might win the game.
  6. Cosgrove get's canned after the season. I would bet my life on it.
  7. Can this be the worst defense for the Huskers in the past Twenty Years?
  8. I would like to say one thing, we all can bitch and moan about our coaching staff and AD. However, until we stop having Top Recruiting Classes, Sold Out Games and 8-9 game winning seasons, nothing is going to happen to this coaching staff or AD. Maybe if we have Alumni or Boosters speak up and donations begin tapering off the University my look at things. Until then, we need to support this and future Husker Teams under Bill Callahan and Staff. I know that a majority of you are going to disagree and that is fine. This is my opinion so please take it what it is worth.
  9. Fu** the option! I believe the West Coast can and will be a GREAT offense at Nebraska. I just hope you were joking with your above statement (Bring back the option!).
  10. You want to know what the best part of this weekend will be; the Nebraska game is not on ESPN or ABC. I would rather purchase a PPV than listen to these idiots talk about how much better USC was than Nebraska. We all know it is true that if we were playing on National/Regional Television we would just hear about how USC pushed us around all game. Even if it is true, ESPN will never let it go just because it is Nebraska.
  11. I would like to see the Nebraska Coaching Staff take back the Blackshirts Practice Jerseys’ from the defense. I know that this will not happen, but can you imagine what kind of message this would send out to the team and all of Husker Nation. As you read different articles on this board, you can see that everyone wants to blame the Nebraska Coaching Staff for the a** kicking we received Saturday Night. I agree somewhat with blaming the staff, but IMO it all comes back to the Husker Defense. Not the entire Defense played bad, but you must hold the complete team accountable and I think the best way to start to take back the Blackshirts until they show they deserve them.
  12. Huskers #22 in Coaches' Poll and #24 in AP
  13. I do not see any reason for sarcasm; I do believe we have made major progress since 2004. We would be a lot worse off if we still had Solich. If all of you are going to start bagging on Callahan, what about Solich; he only got where he did because of Osborne's players. Callahan is the future of Nebraska and we need to come to terms with that. Now, do we need to find a new DC; you are damn right, but besides that, I really like what I see in this team at times. Please give this team a break, they just got beat and beat badly. It is now in the past and we need to begin looking towards Ball State.
  14. Sorry everyone, I see this was already posted. Please delete if needed.
  15. The college football program that operates smoothly under the Hollywood spotlight got a bit spooked Friday afternoon at Westside High School. The No. 1-ranked Trojans, conducting a final practice in preparation for today's 7 p.m. clash with 14th-ranked Nebraska at Memorial Stadium, were forced to call an audible when a couple hundred NU fans infringed on their privacy. The University of Southern California began its one-hour workout at Phelps Field, in plain view of the assembled throng of fans who had caught word of the USC presence. Omaha police and school officials failed to disperse the crowd to the liking of coach Pete Carroll. So the Trojans packed up and moved — to the adjacent Westside baseball field, behind the football grandstand and hidden from view. "I was just impressed again by Nebraska's following," Carroll said after the practice. USC typically closes its practices on Fridays, when Carroll and his assistants take the Trojans through their script of first-quarter offensive plays. Other practices are open to the public, regularly creating a circus-like atmosphere. For a few minutes Friday, it was a circus in Omaha. As the crowd refused to move from outside the fence around the football stadium, one USC coach grew upset and called a group of NU fans "rednecks," according to observers. "We were all like, 'Whoa, did he just say that?'" said 19-year-old Alex Post, a University of Nebraska at Omaha student who came to watch the Trojans practice. USC chose to practice at Westside because of its modern facilities and proximity to the Omaha Marriott, the team's hotel. Both the Westside football and baseball fields are covered with FieldTurf, the same surface as Memorial Stadium. Westside Athletic Director Bob Reznicek said he first heard from USC officials last spring. Dennis Slutak, the Trojans' football operations director, confirmed last month that the team would practice at the school. He asked Reznicek to keep it secret. "I told him we'd do our best," Reznicek said. "We did OK until (Thursday)." News of the practice leaked. And once it hit the Internet, it was too late.
  16. since the University of Nebraska played the #1 team in the country. If you are trying to remember who that was; well it was the Miami Hurricanes in 2002 for the National Championship. Let's break it down even more: 2081 days since the decline of the Husker's of Old. • 179,798,400 seconds since we were pushed all over the field • 2,996,640 minutes since we were embarrassed on National Television • 49,944 hours since we got our a** kicked by the #1 team in the country • 297 weeks since everyone said Nebraska is NO LONGER A POWER HOUSE Husker Nation has talked about Restoring the Order for three years now; well enough talking, now it is time to step up and make it happen. Restoring the Order begins in: • 79,200 seconds when Nebraska pushes the #1 Team all over the field • 1320 minutes when we embarrass the #1 Team on National Television • 25 hours until we have RESTORED THE ORDER I truly hope that this does not offend anyone of this board. In my eyes, I believe that on January 3, 2002 the College Football World said Nebraska is now no longer a College Football Power House. The Husker Nation knows that we are still the Power House of old. However, we have packed up that part of our life and stored it away for a while. Come tomorrow, Husker Nation regains it power. GO BIG RED!!!!
  17. Looking for a little humor, please click the below link. Who ever did this, did a GREAT job.
  18. I know this is not Husker football, but this is some crazy sh**. Everyone on here may have already know about this, but I just heard about it this evening on Fox News. OKLAHOMA CITY — To some Oklahoma football fans, there are things that just aren't done in the heart of Sooner Nation, and one of them is to walk into a bar wearing a Texas Longhorns T-shirt. That's exactly what touched off a bloody skirmish that left a Texas-shirt-wearing fan nearly castrated and an Oklahoma fan facing aggravated assault charges that could put him in prison for up to five years. The shocking case has set off a raging debate in this football-crazed region about the extreme passions behind a bitter rivalry. Some legal observers have even questioned whether this case could ever truly have an impartial jury. "I've actually heard callers on talk radio say that this guy deserved what he got for wearing a Texas T-shirt into a bar in the middle of Sooner country," said Irven Box, an attorney in this city 20 miles from Oklahoma's campus in Norman. According to police, 32-year-old Texas fan Brian Christopher Thomas walked into Henry Hudson's Pub on June 17 wearing a Longhorns T-shirt and quickly became the focus of football "trash talk" from another regular, 53-year-old Oklahoma fan Allen Michael Beckett. Thomas told police that when he decided to leave and went to the bar to pay his tab, Beckett grabbed him in the crotch, pulled him to the ground and wouldn't let go, even as bar patrons tried to break it up. When the two men were separated, Thomas looked down and realized the extent of his injuries. "He could see both of his testicles hanging on the outside of his body," said Thomas' attorney, Carl Hughes. "He was wearing a pair of white shorts, which made it that much worse." It took more than 60 stitches to close the wound, and police interviewed Thomas at a nearby hospital emergency room. Beckett's attorney, Billy Bock, concedes that his client commented about Thomas' shirt, but said it was just good-natured ribbing and that he apologized to Thomas when it appeared to upset the Texas fan. Later, Bock said Thomas approached his client at the bar and threatened him. "My client is a little man, and this guy (Thomas) is 30 to 40 pounds bigger than him," Bock said. "He's bigger, stronger, younger and probably faster, and he aggressively leaned in and touched my client and threatened to beat him up. ... My guy was defending himself and just took control of the situation." Thomas' attorney disputes Beckett's version. "That's total malarkey," Hughes said. "My client never said a word to him. He got up to pay and when he paid and left a tip, the guy grabbed him." Beckett, a 53-year-old church deacon, federal auditor and former Army combat veteran, has pleaded not guilty. His next court appearance comes Oct. 4, two days before the Sooners and Horns tangle in their annual football game at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. Thomas, who once lived in Houston and became a Texas fan during the heyday of star running back Earl Campbell, is still recovering from his injuries but has returned to work as a meat cutter at a Sam's Club warehouse store. Like Beckett and Thomas, many fans of the two college squads never attended either university, but have come to identify so closely with these teams that they attach banners to their cars, wear team colors on game day and even have programmed their car horns to play school fight songs. Dallas police Sgt. Andy Harvey, a 12-year veteran of the force, said it's not uncommon for fights to break out between fans of the two schools. "People are passionate about their teams and their universities, and that's a good thing," he said, "but when you mix a real passionate sports fan and then get a little alcohol in there, sometimes it's not a good mix." On both Texas and Oklahoma fan Web sites, boosters trade familiar tales of having their car tires slashed or windshields smashed for sporting the opposing team's sticker in enemy territory. Assistant District Attorney Scott Rowland said the rivalry will have no bearing on the way the case is prosecuted. "It appears that it played a part in the fight," he said, "but that won't play any more of a role in our handling of the case than would a fight over a girl or a car or a song on the jukebox
  19. This is ont of the best post I have read on this site. Do I agree with this post, you are damn right. GO BIG RED!!!!
  20. I would love the see the half back pass from Nebraska for one of first 10 plays of the game. This would catch them off guard and give some momentum for the start of the game.
  21. In a way, that could be a good thing. Hopefully the teams we play are as lost as you and me when it comes to his game strategy.
  22. I do not know about anyone else on this board, but I cannot stand when Brent Musburger does a Nebraska game. IMO, he never shows respect for the State of Nebraska or the Nebraska Football Program. If you do not know by now, he is doing this weekend's game: Brent Musburger will handle the play-by-play duties, with Herbstreit providing analysis and Lisa Salters on the sidelines.
