  1. Cal. definitely a recruiting hot spot on that game. I like to create a team from Cal. and replace them with some crappy school like arizona. You can keep a dynasty for a long time with how easy it is to recruit down there. a little unrealistic, but still fun!
  2. I was on the 5 yard line 3 rows up in the corner that crouch ran over the iowa lb. UNBELIEVABLE!!! It was Tyrone Williams that sacked Wuerfel. I have to vote Tommie's run as the best ever. He was awesome!
  3. ok thank you. I don't think I'll need the tie breaker as good as I am but I'll pm it to him anyways. gag me!!
  4. The biggest tradition at NU is excellence, both on and off the field. I don't care if their a walk on or on scholarship, if they weren't going to contribute, who gives a sh#t?
  5. I thought it would be interesting to officially see what the majority of the board has to say. Please feel free to declare what you are. I want to know who my friends are. I am a lover.
  6. firesteve.com seems to have adopted the Micheal Moore concept "I'll give you the truth, once I edit it."
  7. IMO, someone calling themself a former Nebraska Fan is about as potty mouth as you get!
  8. yeah my mistake ou ahead of a&m same difference
  9. The newest rankings go 1.NU 2.A&m 3.Oklahoma The Big XII is kicking ass! Even cooler, Nebraska is the only North team holding there own. If things continue this way, in a couple of years Nebraska could have a stranglehold on the North!
  10. ho! ho! ho! merry chistmahanakwanzaka! May all of your wishes be granted!
  11. woo hoo! party naked! just stay inside, you don't want to scare the neighbor's dog.
  12. You SP Haters will really like this one:
  13. Hey heres and idea, write about the contraversy behind the 94 season. Who really did deserve the championship? It looks like you have plenty of FACTS on why Nebraska was the better team already! But you might have to do some more research for the Penn State side. I haven't seen a convincing arguement yet. So there probably aren't any. In second thought, you better just make it a section of your paper. Say something like: tho NU was clearly the best team in 94, some disgruntle Penn State fans dispute their greatness, then present the facts.
  14. You guys are amazing! The only Mutiny in Huskerland is you pissy little pesimists that piss and moan and wine about every little piece of dirt you can dig up on BC or SP!! The fact is that Nebraska Football is no longer the same. Now you guys can sit there and cry about it, or you can support the program. I can guarantee that you pessimists are never going to make things better. I am sure that the best thing for player and staff morale is NOT to hear, straight from "supposed" loyal fans, how the program is going right down the sh***er!!! I also know your pessimist attitudes and comments aren't attracting any recruits. I guess we will see who is right in a couple of years. I wonder what you will have to complain about when we are contending for National Championships again? But, until then.....
  15. Great Facts Touchdown, and you can also look at which team continued there dominance into the next season. I'm pretty sure NU wins that category.
  16. When is the deadline a JUCO has to sign by? Luckily, I think Gordon is the least needed.
  17. I say big 12, I know I am a little biased tho. The big 12 always has at least 2 legit title contenders, the most teams in bowls, and almost always has a team in the title game. The big 12 is the best, but won't get the title of best conference. It will go to some small conference that goes something like 2-1 or 3-1 I believe the MAC and the BIG EAST have been competetive for that title in the past few years, which shows the system is flawed. It goes strictly on winning percentage. I think it should be more something like so: 3 points for a win 1 point for a loss and winning percentage times ten all added together That way the weaker conferences with 2 teams playing in less prestigous bowls couln't have just as equal of a chance or sometimes a better chance than conferences with a large number of teams in more prestigous and competetive bowls that are really the best conferences. But the weaker conferences would still have a chance to make some noise and even win the crown for best conference. Heres how my system might play out. Big 12: 4-3(57%) 4x3=12, 3x1=3, .57x10=5.7 12+3+5.7=20.7 smaller weaker conference: 3-0(100%) 3x3=9, 1.00x10=10 9+10=19 very competetive and the better conference actually wins Fanatic

  19. found a couple of these quotes in a different forum "...assuming we sign seven more guys with the point average that we have already on pace for (85.55 points/player), we will wind up with 2,311 points. i think we will finish strong with a higher point average than we currently have, but for arguments sake, let's just use that as our assumption. that # of points (2,311) would have us finishing 6th in 2002 under tosu and ahead of auburn, 4th in 2003 under usc and ahead of ou, and 5th in 2004 under miami and ahead of michigan. not too bad i think... pretty good company. the 2002 tosu class had players you may recall like: mike d'andrea, maurice clarret, bobby carpenter, aj hawk, tyler everret and doug datish and justin zwick. the 2002 auburn class jr. starters in that class like tj jackson, troy reddick, will hearing aramashadu, and obamou the 2003 usc class had: reggie bush, lendale white, steve smith, and whitney lewis among other contributors. the 2003 ou class had: demorrio pleasant, donte nicholson, lawrence dampeer, and a host of other guys that will have to start next year... the 2004 miami class had... well, there most famous member so far is willie williams, and that really is infamous, but it's a freshman class... you get the picture. the 2004 michigan class had guys like chad henne and mike hart. just some perspective on the kind of players that are coming in, and the kind of program we're heading toward. i for one am looking forward to it." and "...Between 2001-2003 NU had 23 home games and only hosted 31 official recruits over that time. This year alone NU hosted 33 official recurits during home games. In 2002 NU had a drought of which they didn't have a single verbal between July and December. Other articles talked about NU's failure's at landing OL recruits in recent years (amazing given that this is Nebraska). BC and staff spent alot of time early in the recruiting cycle in looking at recruits FB schedules (Thursday games and bye weeks) and getting them scheduled for visits early. Kudos to this staff for recognizing the value that gameday in Lincoln has and going out of their way early on in the recruiting cycle to expose as many recruits as possible to the gameday atmosphere." I thought those were some telling numbers
  20. Our coaches have had great success this year using the whole early playing time pitch. I am hoping that we won't be able to use that pitch a few years down the road. If we don't have to, Then what pitches will be our best ones? and Will we be as successful as this year recruiting wise?
  21. I'm with Newearth, Bo is an arrogant jerk and a loose cannon. The "Sooner" he got away from Nebraska the better.
