  1. Yes. Dominating that rushing attack was sloppy. An amazing defensive performance was sloppy. Maybe you don't like defensive battles, but hell, i'll take that game any day. Sure our offense didn't play well but good teams can make up for that once and awhile.... i think we are starting to see this come out a bit... and just like above the near losses to Va Tech and AT TTech? those don't possibly set us apart? Sorry, but Iowa and Florida State dominated their opponents more than we dominated Clemson. Our defense did not play sloppy, but our offense and special teams did. I love defensive battles, but the fact that it was a "battle" is excactly my point. It was a close game, we prevailed, I'm proud of our team. But we were one first and goal away from losing. That's not the kind of performance that wows the voters. If I'm one of the voters and not a Huskers fan, I'm not sure there's anything that puts Nebraska at the top of the pack among the 9-4 teams. We're better than many (Pitt, BC, Western Michigan), but I'm not sure voters saw anything today that moves us ahead of FSU, Iowa, Northwestern, Oklahoma St, or Michigan St. It's gonna be close among all of those. Every voter will probably have them in a different order. Like I said in an earlier post, I could see us ranked anywhere between 20 and 27. And on the close losses against VT and TT, those happened months ago, if they were going to "set us apart" we would already be ranked. And if you're counting the close losses against good teams, you have to consider the narrow victories against bad teams like Colorado at home. I still think that a blocked FG, and a blocked punt arent grounds of saying our special teams were sloppy. One muffed punt, sure thats sloppy, but as a whole, I'm pretty proud of our spec team. If Nate swift would have told Paul to get out of his way, they would have been a lot better off. But I still think our special teams did aight When I said sloppy I was thinking of the kick return game, sloppy is the perfect word to describe our tackle attempts at Spiller. I know he's an incredible athlete, but some of those tackle attempts were downright pitiful. You're definitely right about the blocks though.
  2. Well, IMO Texas has always been a media darling and, since they're in the Big 12 South, have brought a fair amount of attention with them. Basically since the inception of the Big 12 Texas has had more control than they deserve. Yeah, I think that argument makes more sense than the "ESPN hates the Big 12" argument.
  3. I don't know, I just don't see the bias against the Big 12. THE college football story of the year this year was the Big 12 South, and it got waaayyyy more coverage from ESPN and every other media outlet than any other conference or conference subdivision.
  4. I can't see giving it to Ganz either. The defense won this game for us. Too bad they can't give it to the whole DL.

I understand completely what you are saying. But how impressive is a win against South Carolina? We beat a clemson team that handily beat that same team... Okie St is too high up to fall that far. Northwestern will fall just on the loss factor... Michigan State has one, maybe two, "good" wins if you want to call them that in a 16-13 win at home vs Iowa, and a win on the road against Northwestern.. They got pounded by the rest. And yes, those were back then, but it's the body of work. This team played them well then, and they are playing that much better now. A win over Clemson is worth something. It's worth a decent amount. I agree we are not going to be ahead of FSU, they aren't bad.. like i said above we'll finish just outside the top 25... but it isn't like there isn't a reason to rank us. I think we're basically in agreement...
  6. My biggest wish is for one of our QBs to step up and claim the job above the others. I don't want to have to spend the whole season wondering and debating whether this or that other guy should be starting.

  8. Just checked and there are currenty 34 teams with 9 or more wins. I don't think needing a 57 yd field goal to beat CU at home helped our cause, and let's face it, we won a really sloppy game today that's not gonna earn us any style points to set us apart from all those other 9-4 teams.
  9. I think we sneak in... Iowa and FSU already had more votes than us and they're definitely ahead of us in line in terms of moving into the top 25. In terms of teams falling out, maybe Northwestern, Michigan State, BYU, or Pittsburgh, who all lost and were ranked between 15 and 25. Problem is that except for BYU, they all lost to ranked opponents, so they may stay ranked. If we moved ahead of all those, but FSU and Iowa stay ahead of us, we'd be #23 Could also still have Mississippi, VaTech, or Ball St. slide out if they lose. Best case scenario if they all fall out would put us at #20. Worst case scenario, only BYU falls out and we land at #27, so I'll say we finish somewhere between 20 and 27.
  10. That kick was way too low for as short a kick as it was, they were right about that, but you're right about the other ones.
  11. It wasn't always pretty, but I love how this team responded to going down 14-3
  12. With the exception of the pass that Swift dropped at the goal line, our play calling inside the 15 has been terrible
  13. I guess that's why I'm not the Nebraska offensive coordinator...
  14. It's amazing how far this defense has come in just a year. We're still at a point where great offenses like OU and Missouri gut us, but against next tier teams, we're playing some great D.
  15. This might be our DL's best game of the year...they've been unbelievable
  16. HAHAHA....You think Watson heard Fouts say we can't run the ball?
