  1. Tiger fan here who was at the game. I know Nebraska has some issues right now, and I think it's very legitimate to question the coaching and play calling. Obvisouly, you guys have recruited a lot of talent and I understand your frustrations. Nebraska is used to pounding the ball down the throats of their opponents and winning division titles and championships. If I were a Husker fan, it would be easy to expect northing less than excellence. I wish we had a third of the football tradition Nebraska has. That said, anyone here giving props to Mizzou? What do you think of our chances to beat OU and make it to the division game? Are we orverrated?
  2. My point of the thread is that many Husker fans were attributing their close over Ball State to an underrated Ball State team, while at the same time knocking Missouri's win over an "overrated" Illinois team. Central Michigan will likely gain close to 700 yards against Ball State by the time this game is over -- probably doubling Ball's output. Right now Ball State is down 51-24.
  3. 41-17 midway through 3rd qtr. C. Michigan with 464 yards offense; Ball Sate with 182.
  4. Looks like that massively underrated Ball State is getting manhandled by ... Central Michigan.
  5. Don't know about that; I'll take your word for it. But Corby Jones is not delivering pizzas, as a poster here suggested (it was a funny comment, by the way). I was just trying to clear the record.
  6. Isn't Justin Smith a starter for the Bengals? As to the list of former Cornhuskers now in the NFL, congrats. Now let's see what happens tomorrow.
  7. He told me the same thing too, and I told him to hand me my pizza and get off my porch. FYI, Corby Jones is an attorney and sports agent in Kansas City. What is Eric Crouch doing these days after being cut from the Toronto Argonauts?
  8. He was just on the radio saying the Tigers should win by at least 13, and anything less will be a diappointment. My thoughts exactly. Good luck Saturday. Should be a great game.
  9. Chase is definitely 225. If you see him in person, the guy's thick but in tremendous shape. (And, honestly, he's probably closer to 5'10" than six feet).
  10. FYI: No problem with open containers in Columbia, beer or otherwise, on game day. You can't bring booze through the gate, of course. At the Ill State game there were plenty of 18-20-year-olds walking around with beer in hand. The police don't have the time or resources to go around checking IDs in the parking lots. My buddy brought his brother to Columbia for the Ill. State game, and he walked around with a 12-pack of Bud Light tucked under his arm. No one cares. Just be sure to down them all before you walk through the gates.
  11. Agreed. Always been impressed with Nebraska fans, never a bad experience from this Mizzou fan. Hope everyone has a good experience in Columbia. And remember, always, Mizzou is as tough as rain.
  12. Classic: Tough as Rain: 47 Feathers: 42 You guys, um, would be the Nebraska Feathers. Seriously, no one is dumb enough to use "willn't" in a sentence. Perhaps one of your moderators is in a playful mood?
  13. Yes, our pass defense is horrid. Therein lies your greatest opportunity.
  14. Hey all, I'm a Mizzou fan. I'm not going to claim that Tufftiger represents the best and the brightest among us, but you have to admit he's entertaining. Personally, I think he's a Husker in Tiger clothing.
  15. Just curious ... other than a weak schedule, what weaknesses have you seen in KU?
  16. I only have 2 tickets -- for me and the girlfriend (who, I found out after a year of dating, knows absolutely nothing about football). She bought the tickets at a suprise. Otherwise, I would be just as happy lounging on the sofa in front of the Big Screen with a beer in hand. Seriously, I love going to games but the best seat in the house is always your own living room.
  17. FYI, not all Mizzou fans are this ... how do we say ... juvenile. Personally, I'm looking forward to a great game Saturday. Most Mizzou fans are nervous over the game; anyone who says as a fact that we're going to blow Nebraska out of the water is either delusional or just looking to start a flame war. We think our Tigers have huge potential this year and need to capatilize on it. But to do that, we need to get past Nebraska. We're favored by a touchdown, which about 3 points coming from home field advantage. That's not comforting. The Huskers have already had a big game against USC. We've yet to have a big game. While I disagree that we haven't had a quality non-conference schedule, neither have we had the opportunity to "take it up a notch" by competing against a solid ranked team. In short, I still feel Mizzou is an unknown entity right now. Not as much as, say, Kansas, but I have no idea how the Tigers will perform when challenged by a quality, equally matched opponent. My feeling? It will be a route, one way or another. I just don't think it's going to be a close-scoring game. Either Nebraska will dominate from start to finish and put the Tigers in our place, or our offense will explode for 600 yards offense and throw 50+ points on the board. I'm thinking the final spread will be 17 points and that we'll have a good idea by halftime who's going to win the game. Good luck Saturday.
  18. A better question: who would win a mizzou-ISU matchup and by how many points? There's your answer.
  19. Nooo .... you will gain much more ground yards ... at least 150. I have seen no evidence that we (MU) can stop the run to this point.
  20. Congrats on the huge win against ISU. You'll need to bring more than 370 yards of offense to Columbia next Saturday if you want to leave in a good mood, though. Just sayin. Good luck. It will be a shootout.
  21. I'm in now way confident about the MU-NU game; it could go either way. There will likely be lots of scoring which should translate to quite a show. Both teams will step it up big time, as this is the biggest game of the year for both at this point in the season. One thing I guarantee, however, is that Mizzou is very hungry to beat Nebraska. Very hungry. Go to any restaurant in Columbia, or any social event, and this game is on everyone's mind. Whether this excitement will translate to a good performance on the field is anyone's guess. Yes, we've struggled on defense. Yes, Daniel didn't play well in our last two games. Yeah, we have an annoying habit of letting our opponents back into the ballgames in the third quarter. Believe me, Tiger fans are just as critical of our team's faults and we tend to be doomsdayers. Here's my take: If MU isn't up by at least 10 points going into halftime, Nebraska is likely to win. Our biggest hope is to score early and often, which is conceivable given your defense. Of course, our defense will have to keep you from scoring as well. Good luck this Saturday. I know most MU fans are pulling for you, as we want to play the best Nebraska team possible.
  22. Hey ... Mizzou fan here. I don't particularly have a problem with what Pig said. He knows, as well as everyone here, that for Mizzou to have a chance to contend for the North we have to get past Nebraska. Would it be nice to beat Nebraska by two or three touchdowns? Of course. He probably shouldn't have said that. But he's definitely echoing what his teammates and the fans are thinking. Good luck Oct 6. Maybe I'll see you on the hill!
