  1. Until last year, the only thing you heard when playing at Kansas were the crickets... Sorry Cy, but Mizzou had a sold out crowd when we were awful. That game was interesting for us if we were 0-10. BEating Mizzou has always been worth a lot, no matter how bad it got. It doesn't hurt that Lawrence is less than an hour from a ton of Mizzou fans, who always helped sell the game out.
  2. What were the Mizzou and K-State numbers in those streaks? I dont feel like looking it up right now. I think the Mizzou streak was 25 years (won in 2003, last win was 1978).
  3. Co-signed. What Gregory is saying basically is that Memorial Stadium is not a hard place to play for a visiting team. He didn't say that your fans were quiet, just that your fans don't scream the F-word at 5 year olds, like you might find elsewhere.
  4. Mizzou 52 Nebraska 24 Husker Passing yards: 260 Husker Rushing Yards: 50
  5. didnt know that. Either way, it could still have a negative effect on him. It's really hard to get past something like, especially compounding all the crap he's been through. I hope he plays and does fine, but I wouldn't say it's going to be 100% positive for him if he does.
  6. As a Mizzou fan I can tell you that the confidence and attitude this team plays with is so drastically different to what we are used to. I think it started last year, and hopefully is even better this year. We certainly have some great individual talent as does Nebraska, but I think our team is really playing like a "team" and I hope that gives us the edge. I totally agree. When Brad was here, it seemed like our players just hoped to God that he would carry us. Now, the whole offense plays with an incredible amount of confidence, like they just know what's coming, and that it's going to be big. Defensively, I'm not going to say the same thing. I have a feeling this MU team is going to be as amped up as in 2003. You could see the enthusiasm difference on both teams: the MU sideline was going nuts, and the NU sideline was listless. NU needs to bring that confidence from the beginning of the game, because we (MU) have started hot in most of the games. As a fan on either side, this would be something I would look for right at the start. If NU doesn't have it, they're not going to win, and it's not going to be competitive. If they do, it's going to be a 3 point game that could go either way.
  7. I am fine with Cally, it is Coz that I wish would go after this year. However because they are such good friends, I doubt Bill is going to pull the trigger and fire his best friend. This sounds similar to Gary Pinkel and all the complaints Dave Christensen got as the OC when Brad Smith was there. A lot of people wanted to see him get fired, but Pinkel wouldn't budge. This was when Mizzou was running the 4 play offense: 1) TE bubble screen (and we didn't have Rucker or Coffman) 2) QB option choice run from the gun 3) sh**ty pass play where no one gets open and Brad Smith runs for his life 4) HB run left, tackled for a loss. I'm not saying that Coz shouldn't get fired (I'd get fired from my job if I had done what he did), but it can get better.
  8. You expecting a lot of turnovers? Seems a bit low of a point total for that offensive output. I'd be interested in seeing how many teams put up over 500 yards of offense and only score 31 points. Not that I agree with your prediction, I'm just interested. If your defense holds the Tigers to 13 points, they will have played out of their minds.
  9. Ok.... Mizzou 48 Nebraska 31 Neb rushing: 102 Passing: 344 If Nebraska holds Mizzou scoreless early, that's going to make a huge difference and keep the running game in the playbook, keeping MU's offense off the field. I just don't see it happening (NU has started poorly in most of its games, and Mizzou has not).
  10. Don't forget that Cosgrove will be in the booth. It isn't just what's trotting out on the field.
