  1. Vince Ferragamo was prolly the best pure passer we ever had. I don't know about the # of yds. Dude played for the Rams and went to(won?) the Super Bowl back in the day.... Ferragamo and Dave Humm were pure passers. They were great to watch. I think Frazier was the best, but my favorite was Gdowski. I wish he would have had more help around him. That boy could play QB.
  2. CY - Do you tailgate at the games? Better question, considering the weather forecast, are you planning on tailgating? Would love to meet up for a beer or two. Let Tyger buy you a beer.
  3. I hope that they don't win another game. Remember we are competing with them and missouri for the big 12 north title Unless Mizzou loses both of its last two games, one of which is ISU, MU wins the division. If KU and NU win out, we are into the 3way tie at 5-3 in conference. In which case how the tie breakers go, MU wins for being the highest in the BCS standings. So, unless ISU somehow pulls off an epic upset, MU wins. If the unthinkable happens in Ames, and both NU and KU win out, NU wins the north with the head to head. But really, short of MU getting lost on the way to the stadium, and having to forfeit, MU is getting to get beat down by the south champ. I hope my Tigers win and win big on Saturday (sorry Cy), but, Ames has not been nice to Mizzou in the past. ISU will show up and play hard. MU needs to take ISU seriously this week as the team prepares. We can lose on Saturday.
  4. Shatel is a MU grad but he is not well liked back here in Columbia at all. He may be a good technical writer, but, we find him arrogant and frankly classless at times. You guys can keep him, we do not want him back here ever!!!!
  5. Weren't you the guy calling for Pinkel's head after he completely wasted all 4 years of Brad Smith's tenure? Wait, maybe that was someone else... and by "someone else" I actually mean "every fan of Missouri football fan who isn't dead." Regardless, to say that Missouri has been steadily improving under Pinkel "for many years" is a gross misrepresentation of the situation. Before Chase Daniel arrived the Missouri program was in the exact same place that it was at the beginning of Pinkel's stay in Columbia. Now that said, your second declaration ("we're not going anywhere") may prove to be true, though it's certainly no sure thing at this time. We'll have to wait and see how the recruits that Pinkel's been bringing in recently pan out... only time will tell. That is not really true. The issue for most with Pinkel was the 2004 season only. And by most, you mean a few wackos at Tiger Board. Most Mu fans were upset with 04, but few were calling for heads. Now if 05 would have been a disaster also, you would be right on. It wasn't so there you go. To say before Chase the program was in the same place as when Pinkel took over is laughable. I don't pretend to know everything about your team, please do act like you are some Tiger guru, especially since you have probably only paid attention to them for 2-3 years max. MU SUCKED before Pinkel. Minus the two decent seasons under Larry Smith in 97-98, Mu had not had a winning season since 83. Pinkel has taken the Tigers to 4 bowl games in 7 years, which might not sound like much to you, but that is twice as many bowls as they had in the previous 18 years before he got there. (2 under Smith, 2 under Chase) Yes Chase Daniel has put this program on a higher ground then it was, but PLEASE don't act like this is some one man show. There are only a handful of NU players that could start for MU right now. This is not a one man team, as you clearly have seen. Will there be a drop off next year, yeah there will be. But that is because 15 starters will graduate. Possible 2 more leaving early (Maclin & Weatherspoon). This team will plug in the young players and we will all watch with anticipation. The next two years will do alot in determining what happens to MU. I am hoping for the best, but you never know. let me just leave you with this. I have heard the "just wait till so-and-so leaves" before. You were probably saying the same thing in 05 when Brad Smith was a senior. But Mizzou will always be Mizzou right? Additionally, was it over for NU when Tommie Frazier graduated? NO it was not, NU recruited well and won another championship in 97'. We will lose some with Chase Daniel graduating, but, I am pretty darn confident that Pinkel and staff have recruited well. After all we did lose Rucker and Franklin from last years team plus two starting linemen and our starting running back. I think we have replaced them pretty well. Give Bo time. He has to gradually get HIS players in at NU and then he will start to take off. This is a slow 3+ year process.
  6. Wow. After 5 games you've got us all figured out. Good for you. What were you saying about Pinkel after his first couple years? I made no mention of you or your fellow fans. My post was about Pelini. To answer your question, I wanted Pinkel to go after the 2004 season. I went back to Columbia for the MU-KU game, and saw a listless and completely unmotivated Mizzou team lose to the Jayhawks. However, in 2005, Pinkel started to change his style of coaching, taking a more collaborative approach with his older players and becoming less rigid overall. I think a lot of this was precipitated by the death of Aaron O'Neal that previous summer. Had he stayed in the same mode he started with, I doubt things would have gotten much better. But he changed himself, and after that everything else followed. In retrospect, one thing I've always liked about him is his unassuming manner. Missourians detest loudmouths and showboats, and he seems to understand that. Hard for me to understand how you guys can't see your young coach's shortcomings. I'm not saying he's a write-off, but I do think your recovery will take longer than necessary as long as his antics continue. It's your team though... Still... Why didn't you guys hire Turner Gill? His team played a heckuva game against us. In our own back yard no less... I think it is treading on dangerous ground to espouse such things about another programs coach/team. We are not in Nebraska to see everyday how Coach Pelini runs the program. It sounds to me like you are basing your opinion on two games. Just because we won does not give us Mizzou fans a license to start thinking we can assess a football program. Especially a program whose fans are some of the most knowledgable fans in the game. You have a point about rose colored glasses, but, I have those same glasses on about the MU program. Just my two cents worth. Ty
  7. Sounds like sour grapes to me. At what point is Chase not a man? I disagree 100% with you. A player from an opposing team should not confront the coach of the opposing team.
  8. Dan F 30 is correct, As far are the MU camp is concerned, it is over....both teams need to concentrate on the next opponet.
  9. I think Coach Pelini's comments were taken out of context and spun to incite Mizzou. It is really coming to a point where coaches can not say anything anymore without what they say coming back to bite them.
  10. This Tiger fan is glad the whole thing is over. Thank you Husker fans for being very hospitable to my friends and family who made the trip. Everyone had a great time interacting with Fans in red. We have decided to make it a tradition to go to the game in Lincoln every two years.
  11. http://www.insidestl.com/TimMcKernan/tabid...px#SlideFrame_1 McKernan is a legit journalist in Saint Louis. Just fyi.
  12. Cy cy cy, come on, does ISU have a Maclin, Alexander, Coffman or Washington? Just asking??????
  13. In all honesty, this Mizzou fan hopes Pinkel does not run it up. I do not think he will either.
  14. Truman, I agree on your assessment of Tom O. If College Football had more coaches with the values/morals etc..of TO we would be in better shape.
  15. This is very sad. This Mizzou fan does not think it reflects on the University. Every program has it's problems with present and past players. This reflects negatively on society and that is all of our responsibilities. Just a sad situation. My prayers to all involved.
